First and last time. Service non-existent, except to take order and money. My food was cold despite being the only customer in restaurant. Beef was awful, not chewable or edible. The side salad was small and lacked flavor. Hummus tasted similar to store bought, not bad but not great. The rice was good. They had the nerve to ask us if we wanted a to go box for the meat that was not chewable/edible. We left hungry. read more

I had never been to this restaurant before and stopped in to grab a standard Greek Gyro sandwich and I was just blown away with how amazing it taste . So I ordered the chicken kebabs the lamb beef meat and the rice with pita bread and salad everyone was just as bone away as I was at the party. I was asked by just about everybody where I ordered the food from because it was so good. It was easy to arrange my order it was easy to pick up my order and everything was freshly prepared and hot when I pick it up. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone . read more

I just moved to this part of town and was struggling to finding a good go to spot that wasn't a big chain. This place is such a gem! I've been here twice -- once for takeout and once for dining in with a friend. Together we've tried the Gyro Platter, Shawarma Lover Platter, and Chachu's Salad. All are great! The platters are very filling because it comes with a generous portion of meat, pita, and two sides (my vote is the hummus and feta salad). Also, the Mango drinks are very refreshing. I recommend dining in rather than takeout be the presentation of the food is surprisingly pretty. My experience at Zara's was not nearly as exquisite as others apparently. Upon walking in, you seat yourself and hopefully if they aren't busy a waitress will see you and come to your table to deliver the menus. This is not always a good idea, as evidenced by my nearly 5 minute wait to get service. After ordering drinks and food, it took about another 15 mins for the drinks to come to the table. I ordered the beef koobideh, as I usually do at Persian/Mediterranean type restaurants as well as the lamb shish kebab. The beef was a little on the dry side and I basically had to dip it in the white sauce provided for moisture. I'm not sure why they ask you how you want your lamb cooked, if they have no intention on cooking it that way. Ordered medium rare and it came out well done. Thus, the lamb was just too tough. I did enjoy the "special" tea, only because it is different from any teas I've ever had. Service continued to be subpar when it came time to pay and leave. I was charged for 2 special teas, even though I ordered only one, and overcharged by $1 on the lamb shish kebab. Not sure how all that happened, but brought it to the attention of the waiter and he resolved the problem by comping the 2 drinks, correcting the lamb pricing and giving an additional discount on overall bill. It dropped my bill down a whole $10! But I was still surprised how this could have even happened. read more

Slow service, failure to bring the hummus appetizer until the 3rd request, minimal pita bread for the hummus, but worst of all was the beef shish kabob. The "top sirloin" was so tough neither I nor my business associate could eat it. The chicken shish kabob was fine. When we told the waitress how poor it was and to please simply charge for the chicken kabob she said she could only give us a discount on a future visit. I have been coming here very often and they are always full of people. The food here are just amazing. They have cool ceiling and feels and tastes very authentic! I normally get shwarma meat platter and is never disappointing. My husband's fixed menu is lamb shank and he will only get that, and he loves it. These plates come with two sides and I have tried most of them and my favorite is rice, salad and hummus. Seriously best hummus I had so far. They are all so soft and warm when it comes out. They are always busy and full of people. When I went there last time, the restaurant was smaller and this time they expanded and is double the size. Swarma platter 4/5 - comes with two sides, and white sauce. For the side I chose salad and rice. Their salad is amazing. The only reason this was 4 for me was because it is slightly salty for me and the meat was a bit too dry. I cannot comment on other foods because I didnt try them. I guess when you show up for a 2:30pm lunch the staff is unwinding from the heavy normal lunch crowd. My only recommendation for this place is to greet all your customers with a smile and try to act like you care. Make some of recommendations and ask if It is your first time stopping in. All the items I ordered were good. I ordered the mango juice and only got a half a glass but still was charged full price. It should have been on the house. The gyro was seasoned so well and the beef shawarma was to die for. Tzatziki sauce was very lovely and they even brought us lots of cucumber instead of pita for no charge. Now the service. Our waitress was very polite, everyone was nice, but she was the only person running the front of the house, and there were 6 tables while we were there.
