Hit a snag later on but let me know not to worry he'd make sure we got air going. Very disappointed with the quality of work from Veteran Air…read more I called Veteran Air before a major cold snap to have our heat pump checked out. Their technician, Jonathan Scholtz, diagnosed a corroded indoor evaporator coil and low system pressure. He also tried to upsell me on replacing the entire unit -- I should have realized that was a warning sign. Instead, they replaced just the coil. I paid the full amount ($3,233.85 after the veteran discount) and hoped that would be the end of it. About five months later, I started noticing the condensate pan overflowing and draining outside the house. I tried clearing the lines myself, but the dripping continued. Since it took Lisa from Veteran Air several hours to respond, I went ahead and called another HVAC company for help. They charged me a $150 on-site visit fee. The other technician was shocked by what he found: when Veteran Air replaced the coil, they never reinstalled the baffles around it and didn't even secure the coil properly in the brackets. There was basically no way for the condensation to drain correctly. He also confirmed the system pressure was still extremely low. The other techs could have fixed it right then, but they didn't want me to be out of pocket for repairs that should be covered under warranty. They recommended I call Veteran Air back to make it right. Here are pictures of what the other HVAC tech saw. I'm really disappointed -- I expected better, especially from a company that serves veterans. I wouldn NOT recommend Veteran Air based on this experience.

Throughout the process Strategic Air Services bent over backwards to make it right and that dear reader, is who you want servicing your HVAC. Chad and his supervisor came out multiple times, including after hours, to keep me comfortable and get to the bottom of the problem. They brought a floor AC unit, ran diagnostics on the outdoor board, corrected previously installed improper wiring, and ultimately replaced the first outdoor Daikin unit late on a Friday night. They rep Daikin because the company is Houston‑based and parts are readily available -- and thank goodness, because otherwise I might still be without AC. Yes, the first Daikin unit had a bad board, that happens in the world of manufacturing. What counts is how a company handles such situations. I was given every consideration, and their attitude, Professionalism, and commitment to making it right was impeccable. I'll continue relying on them for all my HVAC needs.

He said it needed to be replaced. I took it apart the next day. It was iced up. I cleared the ice and the fan works again. I called to ask them to come out and look at it and make a new diagnosis as it is colder but still not sub zero. They said i would have to pay again even though their diagnosis was incorrect. The customer service agent was less then helpful. If you do not mind paying for their errors, call em up! Manager followed up and refunded my money and offered to come out to make the situation right. they sincerely made a mistake and offered to follow up in the best way they could. i will give them another try in the future!
