Ham and egg breakfast tacos.
Eddie E.

Breakfast was good but service was poor. The ladies who were taking care of table were more interested in chatting at register or in back. Once my food was served the waitress never came back to table until she brought the bill. Easily a problem management could address and the review would go up to 4 stars as the food was really good.

Fine dining at its best! Laredo, Texas has it's cool spots to go to, but the academy award winning Zaragoza Grill still tops all my standards. The restaurant is located inside La Posada Hotel and it is very chic. The service is always great and food is impeccable. Chef Moises is very nice and always greets clients in the restaurant. I like the poblano bisque soup and chicken chipotle pasta! You bet I will continue to come. -P.S. the Mexican buffet on Wednesday's is delish!

So, I am stuck in Laredo and don't dare cross the border. The La Posada hotel is the best hotel in Laredo, but more on that in my upcoming hotel review. The main dining room here is called Zaragoza (the name of the street it's on) It's a small restaurant with a great chef. I sat at the bar and watched college football on a nice flat panel. The wine selection was great and reasonably priced. I started with the zaragoza cheviche - shrimp, tilapia, avocado, cilantro, oranges... yes, I said oranges. I was a bit worried here but it was awesome. The presentation was great too. It's served on a large plate and looks more like a tuna tartar appetizer. Cilantro was drizzled around the edges, and the whole thing was served with dark and light chips. I paired that with the Menage a' Trois, Folie a Deux from Napa. Nice Main course, at the bartender's suggestion, was the Chicken Chipotle Pasta. The flavor was perfect. Served in a large, misshapen bowl, it combines chicken spinach, zucchini, with a chipotle cream sauce. It is actually a light dish with a nice spicy kick. I paired this with the Folie a' Deux red zin from Napa. any downsides? Yes. the pasta was overcooked for my taste. Being Italian, that might be a personal preference. OK...an update.... still in Laredo... I went for a run and realized what the town smells like: wet animal with a hint of garbage...but onto the review. tonight I had the chicken and cheese enchiladas. they were served with Spanish rice and the best re-fried beans I've ever had. Great meal.

Enchiladas callejeras

I really enjoy eating at this restaurant, I work close by and I easily can walk and enjoy the specials for lunch, but this week I ordered the enchiladas callejeras to go, picked up and returned to work since COVID, and they gave me the enchiladas with only cilantro rice and tortilla chips all mixed up and super oily. It's not the first time I order these. If you don't have the ingredients that it comes with please let the customer know, it's really annoying to expect something and get something else.

This authentic Mexican food (modern Latin cuisine) restaurant is located inside of a very nice historic hotel (La Posada Hotel) in Laredo. I tried the Crispy Fried Lengua (Fried beef tongue) and the Beer Battered Asparagus. Both appetizers were okay, but I would not typically eat these appetizers. Our group ordered them, so I decided to try (party of 7). My entree was the Kobe Beef Burger w/ Sweet Potato Fries. It was good!!! Service was a little slow, but I think our waiter was serving two large parties at the same time. Great atmosphere and friendly service!

Easily the best tasting steak in all of Laredo. It is one of Laredos best kept secrets. Very romantic and worth every penny.

Waiting for a table.

We enjoyed a couple brews here while waiting (a very long time) for a table at the Zaragoza in the La Posada Hotel. Nice ambiance, pleasant service.

Simple menu, but tasty and attractive choices!

Food was a average and service was poor. I don't recommend. Drink price was the best part of restaurant.

The menu online looks spectacular and had a lot of interesting dishes. I was super excited. I saw that they were open late and I was also very happy about this because my meal was after work. I arrived at 9:30 walked in the side entrance and saw a post hunched over and squatted down, looking at her iPhone. I also saw another employee leaning on the host stand talking to her. He didn't greet me neither did she until I walked to the front of the house stand. She got up from her crouch position and said can I help you? I was surprised to see what she was wearing, an oversized hoodie with some type of logo on it, which was not an appropriate thing to wear, and it did not match the other employee that were more crisp. I said dining for one and grabbed a menu and slid it across the host stand out of pure laziness. She slumped her way over with the menu hanging on her left side and sat me at a table. Wow what a lousy first impression for a restaurant that I was so excited to visit. A server came over gave me a menu and brought me water. Disappointed to see that the menu was completely different from the menu that I saw online. No unique dishes and the variety was not great. However, I was there and felt I'd give it a chance. A server that was at the bar entering tickets or something, kept looking over at my table, but no one ever acknowledged me after I was seated. I waited for about 10 minutes until someone realized I need assistance. The server finally came over. He was polite to check my order served my meal left me to be on my own to check on me one time, but it certainly wasn't a two minute check when he should to see if my meal was to my satisfaction. My plates were not cleared and I had to ask for the check.. the food was OK. I had the salmon. Nothing spectacular. risotto was uneventful. Got my check and left. No goodbye, no thank you for coming in no stand out service. As a restaurant professional in California, I can't figure out if it's just a Texas thing or they rate everything high or this restaurant truly is deserving of its accolades..

Servers are friendly and well dressed, this is a high end spot. Table bread was good, came with chimmichurri and butter, it was good. So good in fact that they asked me if I wanted another bread, and I said of course. What they failed to mention is that they charged $5 for the bread, wasn't expecting that at all. No one advised me of that but alright. We ordered a shrimp with oil dish, cooked in a cast iron, this was outstanding! Great flavor, came with 6 pieces of shrimp and came out on a hot cast iron pan. Highly recommend. I ordered a 15 oz picahna and my wife ordered 12 oz American ribeye. The ribeye was thin, but cooked well. However they failed to season the steak. The picahna was cooked okay, also poorly seasoned. When you think of picahna , you think of the fat cap, tell me why my picahna did not have any fat cap on it? They carved out the fat! I mean cmon man, you're an Argentinian steakhouse and you do that, that is blasphemy. Then they cut my steak, let it bleed out on the plate. Is this their first time or what? Leave the steak whole, like my wife's ribeye. The second saddest steak I've eaten. The worst one was a ribeye I had at Otillias. Steak came with steak fries and they were okay. My wife's baked potato wasn't fully cooked either Overall this place missed the mark and for paying $115 for two people before tip, you're better off grilling your own steaks for a lot less. I paid $40 for the picahna and $39 for my wife's steak. I wanted to give this place 3 stars but that bs bread move left me upset. I honestly think if you're looking for a decent steak, save yourself some money and go to Texas or Longhorns steakhouse.

There are bars on every window and a bit rundown down but the parking lot had a ton of cars. That speaks volumes! They brought chips and salsa and we ordered some margaritas. Just a note, they don't do Cadillac. The were good, not great. Same with the Pina Colada. My husband ordered the crispy tacos and I the tres enchiladas with a salad. The salad was all iceberg lettuce with an interesting dressing with a tangy flair. The enchiladas were good but the beans dried out. My husband wasn't crazy about the tacos. We stayed for the band which consisted of one guy. Regardless, he was fun and did all genres of music. Overall, it was a great first night experience. Thanks Charlie! We enjoyed metting you too!
