I usually love Danny's, but this location on McPherson took atleast 30 minutes in the drive through to give me tacos of fajita, when I checked the bag they forgot 3 tacos and forgot my avacado, so I waited another 15 Minutes. It was so horrible they even served me before the car who was waiting before me,. I'm so disappointed. If you've ever been to Laredo, then you've probably heard of Danny's. They seem to be on every corner, and maybe the most popular local chain restaurant. This is my grandpa's favorite place to eat. So much so that he received a generous $100 gift card. On a recent visit south, we ate here 2 times in a row: for dinner and breakfast. I've been here many times, a typical stop when we visit my 89 year old grandpa. As always, it's delicious and no one has any complaints. Now, a question that might be in the back of your mind is, do I need to know Spanish to eat here? Well, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have basic level 1 Spanish knowledge. Yes, our group was mixed dining here, but our server spoke Spanish the entire time to us. And sure, they know English (I think) because my ginger father orders in English and they reply in Spanish, he looks at my mom who replies to her in Spanish. And that's the way the world works when your vocabulary is limited. "Quiero café, por favor," except say it in the most gringo way possible (Key-arrow cafay poor faver)...it causes some giggles. I once briefly dated a guy who was entirely serious when he asked me "How do you say 'no' in Spanish?" In my mind I thought...is this a joke? He also asked me "What is ma-nan-a?" Ayy Dios mio! I can't possibly be dating someone who is of level 10 gringo status. Two years living in Texas, his sister married a man from Peru, his nephew's name is Mateo and you don't know a damn word in Spanish? Did he even know that Mateo = Matthew in English?! I believe in signs, and this was around the time when Jay-Z's song "On to the Next One" was a big hit. I heard it while in the car with him, and soo...you get my drift here. But seriously, if you're ever in Laredo, Danny's is the go-to spot. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, they even have a bar. Menudo is a hot commodity and only offered on Saturdays & Sundays. I ordered huevos a la Mexicana with rice and beans and their amazing hashbrowns. It's basically on the verge of being migas, minus the tortilla chips. But the real delight were the AMAZING tortillas. Perfect and just how I like my flour tortillas: not pale, browned spots and crunchy. Was down in Laredo to help out with a training session and one of my colleagues from Laredo decided to bring us here. I was expecting amazing goodness, figuring that this was her own backyard. Boy, was I underwhelmed. This is basically just a run of the mill Mexican food chain. I should have known better. In my opinion, the best Mexican food places are obscure, non-neon lighted joints that you almost fear entering. If you're starving, come here. The food is edible. This place is the solely best customer service restaurant in Laredo. It's been awhile since I had an authentic Mexican breakfast however the huevos rancheros plate was prepared well and fulfilling. What can I say about Danny's, well I compare it to Denny's but Mexican food. This chain is every where in Laredo and it's almost impossible to miss one if your in town. The food is above average and the resturaunts are always clean. Being able to speak spanish is a plus but not something to worry about if you don't. A Laredo staple with solid food. All the locations tend to have consistent food and service. One of the few places in Laredo to serve Cabrito which is a must try when visiting. Go for a long breakfast, they never let your coffee mug get below half full. For lunch, try the excellent enchiladas suizas, all cheesy zingy goodness. The only location I'd recommend for dinner is the midtown Mcpherson location. It's a great slice of local flavor after dark with live music. . .all beer flowin', parillada sizzlin', cabrito eatin' goodness. read more

They have a great special, the enchilada plate for 4.99. I couldn't complain. Quick service, clean atmosphere, and a big plate with beans and rice for $5. Normally I would give it a 3 star but the price I'll give it 4. It isn't as good as some other hole in the walls there but it is a solid place. read more

I have to agree this restaurant has good service--for being in Laredo. However, the food is overpriced. I challenge anyone to say it's not.
