I have been here a couple of times and really come here for the entertainment. I wish I could say it was for the food as well but the food is mediocre at best. We had the mar y Tierra molcajete. Who serves a molcajete dish on a cold molcajete. The dish should be served with a hot molcajete. The shrimp served were under cooked, the chicken just okay but a bit on the dry side. The beef was good but not great. The tortillas were served on an open dish so the were cold within a few minutes. All in all I wouldn't recommend this dish. The pic I am posting looks great but it doesn't tell the truth. What really bothers me about this place is that there are no prices on the drink menu and they won't tell you the prices. The drinks are more like coo-lade. Stick to the beer. Service was okay. The Best part is the entertainment on Thursday's. Kudos to Joe and Ingrid.

Very pleasant lunch experience! It's been over a year since I've dined at La Mariscana. I immediately noticed the restaurant design upgrades. Very nice improvements! Even though the restaurant appearance has changed, the food has not changed. The food is as good or better as I remember. I was very happy to see La Mariscana survived the COVID-19 pandemic. I felt very comfortable dining at La Mariscana knowing that COVID-19 protocol is still being practiced, regardless of the infection risks improving. The staff was very welcoming, genuinely friendly. I was served homemade chips with a variety of salsas once I was seated. The chips were seasoned, very tasty, perfect for the salsas. I ordered the Camarones Empanizados ( Battered Fried Shrimp). Nice good size shrimp, perfectly battered, not too greasy, delicious, full of flavor! My meal was served with a flavorful mushroom rice and a side salad with homemade dressing. Definitely once of the best shrimp meals in Laredo! I'm already looking forward to my next dining experience at La Mariscana. Consistency with their great food, superior customer service & attention to detail is no surprise!

I thought this place would have a lot more seafood. This place has many options but not enough seafood options in my opinion. The name and decor make you feel like you're entering a Pescadería but truth is, it's just a Mexican restaurant. They start of by bringing you chips and salsa, pretty standard. They do stand out by bringing several items like pickled carrots and fresh limes. The food tasted great! They probably have the best Agua Chile in town, super spicy just like an agua Chile should be. If you're not a fan of spicy food you can always ask for a milder version. The ribeye is grilled to perfection and the flavor is great! I will say, some of the dishes come different than the way they are presented on the menu. For example, my mom ordered the Mole de Pollo because she was craving the chicken leg glazed in mole sauce. Unfortunately the mole came shredded instead of whole. Was different texture and flavor that what was expected.

Dinner at a place I have never been. Is kind of tucked away and a bit hard to find. Is in Regency Square Center. Real plates and metal utensils, paper napkins. Was seated immediately , my drink and entree order taken quickly. Menu was interesting. Ordered bacon wrapped shrimp with 3 fajita tacos.so far good service. Three salsas with chips set up on table. All 3 had an excellent flavor but were a bit spicy for me. Also had pickled carrots and onions which I really enjoyed. ( see picture). Had upbeat music in Spanish playing at a good level in the background. Had a good high energy vibe to the place. The fajita tacos were good but would have benefited from avocado added in. Bacon wrapped shrimp plate was also very good. Veggies were just al denote as I like them. Overall a good experience. I would recommend.

First time at this place and it won't be the last! Best seafood, I've tasted in Laredo! Every one in our group ordered something different and we were all impressed and delighted on how delicious the food was. Our hats off to the chef!!

Everything was great today. Food came quickly and was hot. The camarones plate , i chose grilled shrimp , you can also do fried. Also had a El Capitan taco - fried shrimp, with sweet onions and cabbage, on a corn tortilla- delicious. Wide drink menu , with everything from michelada to Clamato , to of course margaritas. We'll be back .

The food was not very good. The place is super cute though. We ordered the house margaritas, they were 70% ice. We ordered a ceviche (can't remember wihich one ) it tasted like tomato juice. I will not be returning. Go to la laguna, much better and more bang for your buck.

This restaurant is too over priced for the horrible plates that they serve. The meat in the plate "el toxico" is literally swimming in Maggie sauce (which just tasted like soy sauce) keep in mind this is a 26$ plate. The looks of it sucked, the taste sucked. When I told them the meat was horrible they took the plate to "taste" it. Came back and said that's how it should taste. EXCUSE ME THATS TOO MUCH SALT. So In the end I paid 26$ for 2 bites of the meat that were taken. And they threw the rest away, I could've taken the rest home and fed it to my dogs or something. If the plate isn't discounted it should be allowed to be taken. But nope. This place is unprofessional.

Oh Mm Gee!!! My husband and I are over the road truck drivers and we had a pick up in the area. Being so close to the border I figured I would try some real authentic Mexican food. I searched yelp for seafood and this was the first restaurant in the search. Based on the menu selection I decided to give it a try. The inside is clean, the bathrooms are clean, and the server was extremely nice. She did a wonderful job going over the menu and explaining everything. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, shrimp tacos, my husband had a rib-eye, an order of authentic Mexican rice, and seafood soup. My husband gave his steak 5 stars. He enjoyed the onions and bell peppers most, it was also very colorful. The shrimp tacos were the bomb dot com. Like literally the best I've ever had. The Mexican rice was delicious. It wasn't overcooked and it wasn't hard and it was full of flavor. The shrimp fried rice had steak bits in it so I wasn't able to enjoy it. I do not eat farm animals so it was kind of a waste and I wasn't aware it had steak in it. The soup had chicken in it so it was another item I wasn't able to enjoy. Also the shrimp in the soup were not deveined so umm yea. If the rice and soup didn't have meat and the shrimp were cleaned this would be a five star review. Best Mexican food I've ever had!!!

Went to this place since my gf wanted to try it out and I had heard their "aguachile de ribeye" was good. The aguachile was not good. It came cold to the touch, they said it was super spicy which it wasn't but the taste was just off. We ordered the ceviche Chabelo and that was decent. Place is overpriced and service was MEH. This was Sunday lunch.

    La Maricana won't disappoint.

Wood fired grill gives dishes a flavor that can't be duplicated. House made sauces with tajin enhanced corn chips, tuna excellence, octopus amazement and whole snapper extravaganza! La Mariscana is LAREDO's BEST RESTAURANT by far! Ask for Deanna!

We have an international trip coming up in October so we wanted to knock this thing out as quickly as possible. OK, back to the review. Before we left for Laredo, we checked out recent articles for restaurants to check out and things to do. There were quite a few intriguing dining options but less with regards to appealing options for what to do. We checked out the historic district but, teeming multitudes of perfume stores and money exchange places, the area lacked any charm whatsoever. It actually felt like we were in Mexico. When we checked into our hotel, we asked the lady at the front desk for lunch recommendations and things to do. She couldn't recommend anything to see in the area but suggested Palenque Grill for lunch, which was on our list of possibles. Palenque Grill, located just off I-35, is quite spacious. We were seated immediately and served some warm and crispy tortilla chips with various sauces...loved them all but I preferred the spicy salsa while my wife loved the bean dip. My wife ordered the Pechuga de Pollo ($19) and I tried their Puntas de Filete ($21). My wife was surprised at how flavorful the chicken was, although she thought the veggies were overcooked. I liked the flavor of tender beef tips in that savory sauce. Loved the freshly made flour and corn tortillas. All in all, a good lunch option, albeit perhaps not the best value around. Not your typical Tex-Mex. Service was very attentive and friendly. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $55 with tip.

The menu online looks spectacular and had a lot of interesting dishes. I was super excited. I saw that they were open late and I was also very happy about this because my meal was after work. He didn't greet me neither did she until I walked to the front of the house stand. She got up from her crouch position and said can I help you? I was surprised to see what she was wearing, an oversized hoodie with some type of logo on it, which was not an appropriate thing to wear, and it did not match the other employee that were more crisp. I said dining for one and grabbed a menu and slid it across the host stand out of pure laziness. She slumped her way over with the menu hanging on her left side and sat me at a table. Wow what a lousy first impression for a restaurant that I was so excited to visit. A server came over gave me a menu and brought me water. Disappointed to see that the menu was completely different from the menu that I saw online. No unique dishes and the variety was not great. However, I was there and felt I'd give it a chance. A server that was at the bar entering tickets or something, kept looking over at my table, but no one ever acknowledged me after I was seated. I waited for about 10 minutes until someone realized I need assistance. The server finally came over. He was polite to check my order served my meal left me to be on my own to check on me one time, but it certainly wasn't a two minute check when he should to see if my meal was to my satisfaction.
