Frida has a beautiful atmosphere with very nice decor, but the music didn't match the theme of the restaurant. Given the name and aesthetic, it would make more sense to play music inspired by Frida Kahlo's tastes--Mexican folk, mariachi, jazz, or even classical--to enhance the experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They understood English well, even though they primarily spoke Spanish, which wasn't an issue. The menu was written in Spanish but included clear English descriptions, making it easy to navigate. Overall, it's a pleasant spot with potential, but the ambiance could be improved to better match the concept. The huevos rancheros plate was okay, but there were a few disappointing details. The beans tasted like they came straight out of a can and were served in very small portions, along with the potatoes. The potatoes were cut into very large pieces and were under-seasoned, which made them less enjoyable. Unos chilaquiles bueno. Buena salsa. Un menudo muy apestoso. Service and Ambience was nice! Could probably use more Frida Kahlo art inside the restaurant since it is named after her. I ordered the chilaquiles with added ribeye and it was excellent! I like how their chilaquiles isn't totally soggy/mushy, there is still just enough crunch to the tortilla chips. The salsas were also very good. I also ordered the menudo which I did not really like. I think the menudo has slightly more flavor than Lira's, but the menudo smelled so bad! You can smell right away that the tripe is not cleaned. At least with Lira's menudo you cannot smell the tripe at all but it tasted bland to me. With Casa de Frida there was a little more flavor but not enough to overlook the poop smell of the tripe. I think I would rather have a bland menudo and just add more salsa and limon for more flavor than have a stinky menudo. I would not recommend ordering the menudo just because it smelled so bad. Everything else was great! (Honestly, One star off for the menudo, a half star off for the lack of Frida art inside the restaurant. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Seriously, the menudo smelled so bad!) read more

Lovely Breakfast spot not far from my hotel. Themed after Frieda, and decorated with Frieda, possibly by a Frieda. Service is friendly and done by Frieda's, that makes it friendly Frieda's. I enjoyed the Cafe Ola and a good breakfast. They got a great menu to pick from, which many did. Definitely a popular spot. read more

Terrible restaurant. I ordered pancakes and they were raw and cold. The scrambled eggs were awful, and they came with potatoes that were freezing cold. The only good thing was the Mexican-style coffee, and the total bill was $50, which wasn't worth it at all!! read more

I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. What I order was enmoladas which wasn't for me to be honest and their rice and beans weren't it. But I did get to try My wife got bolillos which was so good! One thing for sure I didn't like was the service, I noticed all the server were bunch up and talking a bunch. Our server didn't really check up that much with us. read more

We came to try this place for the first time today. Everything was going good until our food came. So when my mom was ordering she asked the lady if the chilaquiles diablos were super spicy and the lady said yes and so my mom said "never mind I'll get the chilaquiles rojos" and i got chicken and waffles. When the lady brought the food she brought my mom enchiladas rojas! Like girl never did she even mention enchiladas. Then she kept saying it was my mom who ordered that and we kept telling her that she never said enchiladas and she went to talk to the manager and she came back and said "we're going to package it for you to take home and we're going to give you the chilaquiles as well but you still have to pay for the enchiladas" like girl what. My mom told her that she's not gonna eat the enchiladas nor does she want the chilaquiles and that shes not gonna eat anything at all and the lady told her she still has to pay for the enchiladas. Like why would she pay for something shes not gonna eat. Then my food tasted uncooked and my chicken was literally like rubber, this was the first time i was so disgusted by my food.
