Labor Day 2023: I came here after hearing about this place from some colleagues at work…read more My goal was to compare their oysters and seafood cocktail against another place I visited last week. The oysters were good but the presentation was a bit off. They come out in a huge tray of ice which melted kinda quick - if you wait too long to have your oysters, you will be pulling them out of water. Also, the cocktail sauce that came with them was super watered down and messy to pour from the little cups it came in. The shrimp cocktail, though, was beautifully presented and delicious. It was topped with cilantro, red onion, and avocado. I relished every bite. Chips and salsa before the meal were good, too. The chips are dusted with some spicy powder which you can get hooked on, and the salsas were good and spicy. Unfortunately for me, though, I was exposed to Maroon 5, One Republic, and Bruno Mars songs blasting throughout the place. It felt kinda clubby, and not any club I would ever want to be in. All in all, though, not a bad place for seafood. I am definitely coming back after hearing about other entrees to try, especially their grilled octopus.

I wish I would have checked Yelp before going. Seeing their rating, after the fact, I'm not surprised that they're rated so low. Staff was cold and unwelcoming when we walked in at about 7pm on a Thursday night. Place was pretty dead. The staff was standing around chit chatting. When our waiter came over, we asked some questions about the menu, before ordering. Waited forever for the food to come out even though there was only 2 other tables. Orders were wrong when they finally arrived, and did not match what the waiter described at all. Service was poor. A lot of chit chatting among staff at the front end of the restaurant. Staff was poorly trained and likely poorly managed. Had the sushi which was pretty mediocre. Serving size seemed huge, but then quickly realized the roll was overloaded with rice and skimped on the good stuff (shrimp, crab, avocado, etc...) Pricing didn't seem to add up. I won't be going back. Ambiance is good. It's well decorated but the other shortcomings overshadowed the nice ambiance.

The service was the best I've ever experienced at a restaurant. On top of that, they even let me watch the football game. I truly felt like a VIP here--highly recommended! Pedro S.

Food: very disappointed. Ordered the Steak Teriyaki and got BOILED VEGETABLES AND BOILED MEAT. THE MEAT WAS TENDER BUT looked and tasted like it was boiled NOT STIR FRIED. The fried rice, lacked spices, and was not at all as tasty as I thought it was going to be. Service: although the weight staff was very friendly, sadly when I asked for a beer and it was WARM and I did not get a glass with ice until I asked for it 3 times. Ambiance. Needs local music and local ambiance. Be proud of your city and its roots. Laredo is a beautiful city, and people should be proud of where where they are from. My personal opinion. What sets apart a restaurant is, it's seasoning and flavor that the cooking staff bring into their food. Sadly, they don't have it at the moment. I know that there are good. Talented chefs in Laredo, and that this place will understand and try to find them to make them better.

I drove past this several times on my way to my work station during late April. Figured it was…read moreworth stopping here and seeing what it was about. A couple coworkers and I stopped in for some beers and grub around 7ish on a Wednesday. We were a bit skeptical due to the atmosphere as the crowd was minimal and the lighting was dark which resembled a goth-disco vibe. Plus after we sat, they did not have miller or dos equis on draft. I started to think it was a bad idea coming here but once we got draft beers in the form of some local lagers, the vibe started to pick up. Getting down to ordering, we started with the brisket queso which was basically a queso mixed with brisket and then topped with... more brisket. The chips were strong and had the strength to withstand the queso without breaking during dips. We were happy with it and felt it was a great start to the meal. As for entrees, I ordered wings (Jamaican Jerk, Chupahueso) and a side of curly fries. My other compatriots ordered the taco trio (brisket, sausage, fajita) and the TKO knockout burger. All the items hit the taste buds well as we finished nearly everything minus the fries since it was so much. The wings were meaty and excellent seasoning with the bleu cheese to dip. The tacos held up well with tender meat and intensified with the grilled onions and lime squeeze. And the burger was humungous and cooked perfectly. A really good meal overall. They had NBA and NHL on tv which occupied our time as we ate and drank. There are plenty of tvs around so you'll find whatever event you're looking for. They also did a trivia night on Wednesday; this one was based on the Office show which we all participated in. While enjoyable, the owner (I think) kept coming by and asking us about the trivia and explaining what the purpose was. He did this three times; I felt once was enough. But he was passionate about it so might as well let him spread the message. If you can get past the dim lighting and sketchy parking lot, this place has good food and beers (if available) with tons of sports-watching and a friendly staff. Aside from typical bar eats, they also serve bbq and some seafood items. I'll likely be back whenever Laredo calls me back there.

For starters, the inside of the restaurant is just so cute and the vibes are very nice in there. Everyone that works in. There has always been so nice and very attentive. This place has been open for. Who knows how many years now and is still great. Every time I go, I have to order the Kamasutra roll and the Goliath roll with a side of tampico. They are my favorite and I can never choose between both of them. I also get the squid sunomono which is so good and correctly seasoned. I also get the beef mixed rice and I tell them to add scrambled egg in there . It just makes it taste better. Other very tasty dishes that I enjoy ordering there every now, and then I will get the pork eggrolls, the beef empanadas, and the poblano soup. In all honesty, there's nothing you can pick there that you're gonna say was not good. When it comes to drinks, they have certain cocktails that they can make for you and a small list of wine and beers to offer. This is a great spot for date night, friends night, or just catching up with family.
