Tono's Bar and Grill - Buffalo shrimp? Amazing! - Mexican Near Me - Laredo, Texas

Ordered the 12 oz prime ribeye steak served with 2 sides . When it arrived the steak was about 1/4" thick, maybe 8 oz and definitely not prime grade. Lots of gristle. Didn't complain, just ate my meal and asked for my bill. When the bill arrived, I was charged separately for the steak and 2 sides. When I asked the waitress, she said that is how they charge. The menu states baked potato and veggies are included with the steak. I won't be back read more

I always come here when i'm in town. the service is great and the food is even better. every table starts with chips and three salsas, you can ask for more chips and you should because they're delicious. Every time I have gotten the grilled chicken sabana al chipotle. It is consistently good. It comes with a thin chicken breast with chipotle sauce and melted cheese on top, rice with some kind of green sauce and melted cheese, and beans. Eating all three together is something i will always look forward to! read more

Tono's Bar and Grill - a plate of food - Mexican Near Me - Laredo, Texas

I was there this week and ordered the Poblano soup it was very watery with 3 pieces of cheese and maybe 8 chips. it was disappointing! I ordered it and took a friend because I had the soup a few months ago and it was delicious. I am glad she ordered the chile relleno and it was delicious. read more

Great service. I love the shrimp cilantro. It never disappoints. The drinks are always good. If you go for lunch, try the lemon pepper chicken with the poblano pasta. read more

I only rated this 5 stars, because it does not get any better than this in Laredo. In any other city, I'd probably give it 4 stars. The quality of the food is outstanding. The menu is brief, but you'll find an assortment of beef, chicken, and seafood. A food snob may notice the plating/garnish is underwhelming. My chilean sea bass was garnished with a flower and a lime split in two. Note: Laredo restaurants seem to serve a bowl of limes for every dish, so the limes on this entree had to be more for garnish. But we dine for food quality, right? I've eaten here about 4 times over the past 8 years and have never had a disappointing meal. A word of caution to those who may choose to eat here based on price. I see Yelp has graded this with $$. The steaks are priced $30 and up. There are more entrees priced at or above $30 than there are dishes priced below. So I'm not seeing a justification for only a $$ price representation. It should be higher. My margarita was $14, but I did specify top shelf booze. The poblano soup is darn good. It's a cream based soup. I think it would be more flavorful if it would have a roasted poblano flavor. Perhaps they tried, but I wasn't picking up on it. Good luck finding a better restaurant in Laredo. I'd wager you won't read more

Setting: Nice mix of Texan and Mexican decor. Darkly lit, good for dates. Very nice, very clean bathrooms. Food: Delish! Had the rib steak lunch special...very good! Basically it's rib steak with salsa. Can't beat that! The complimentary chips and salsa are very good too. You must be careful not to eat so many, although it's very tempting. You'll get full easily. Very decent price...this meal with beer cost ~$20. Service: Top notch! Very helpful with all the questions we had. For someone not from there, that's a big plus! Kudos to the folks at Tonos! read more

We came in with the family for dinner. Our waist was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately they didn't have many items on the menu available. We had to decide between a very limited variety of foods. Service wasn't very fast although the place was practically empty. Taste of the dishes was ox but nothing extraordinary. read more

This is the friendliest place in Laredo and that is saying alot! But it has the absolute YUMMIEST food ever..you must try the Poblano soup! The Echilada Suiza's are to die for as is the Poblano rice that comes with it!!! I would eat here everyday if I could!!!! read more

Horrible service needed to ask for chips and salsa multiple times. Drinks were never refilled. Food was ok but I would not come back ridiculous !! You have to pay for extra chips and the saga continues read more

Tono's Bar and Grill - Horrible service never got refills - Mexican Near Me - Laredo, Texas

Over due but went here and remember the menu was limited and service was okay. The food isn't bad here and many do find this a regular place to grab lunch locally. But prices and food don't add up. If you want Mexican in Laredo and this is the level of food you want I think going to bollios is better. Cheaper and good food or Lolita's. Not bad, though. read more

Probably the best Mexican restaurant in Laredo. Authentic interior Mexican food, with a menu that varies from luch to dinner. Small sitting place, with good waiting staff, uniformed and well trained. The decoration is folksy, but elegant. Full bar. They have a magnificent poblano soup, wich is green and served with bit of cheese that starts melting right away. The menu dances from tortas, to some stews, mostly served with white rice and corn, and of course some beans. The dinner menu varies form top meat cuts in generous sauces to fish and chicken plates. Again, there is nothing like it in Laredo...but those tiny beers, come on !!! read more

Great service. Food is usually brought out quickly. I recommend this place if you want authentic interior Mexican food. Some plates are pricey but worth it! I highly recommend the caldo loco, especially in the winter. read more

True- nice ambiance, but beware, very expensive!!!!

My absolute favorite place for breakfast or lunch. Their food portions are very generous and prices are competitive. Perfect place to take a date or have a business meeting. Try the red sauce that is supplied at every table. Abdolutly delicious. read more

Great food at reasonable prices. Every time I'm in Laredo for work I make it a point to have lunch here. Never disappointed. Friendly staff and a warm atmosphere read more

Yum Yum. Some friends took us here a while back for the first time and we can't get enough - we keep coming back for more. Poblano soup is delicious (I do wish that they would shred the cheese instead of cube it though- just a side note) I have yet to have anything on the menu that wasn't good. My favorite would be the Tacos al Carbon as the meat has a lot of flavor! The enchiladas suzios is also really good. I definitely recommend this place. The staff has been predominantly the same since we started going a few years ago and that always says a lot about a place. read more

The service and the food was very good. they did not have much of a wine selection or a cocktail selection. I would definitely go back

I have yet to eat a meal here that I didn't like. I don't eat here very often but do enjoy the food, atmosphere and prices. The service tends to vary. Staff always friendly but not always as fast as I would like, especially when they are busy. read more

Definitely need a better cook, the steaks leave a lot to be desired and for the $35 + price Texas roadhouse can serve you a way better steak! read more

Beyond great food. I recommend the chicken lorena. It might not be on the menu but you have to ask for this dish! One of the greatest dishes they have to offer. Free chips for everyone with very good salsa dips :) so thats a plus! read more

Used Yelp for the first and decided to go to Tonos bar and grill based on the reviews. It didn't disappoint. The Poblano soup was very tasty and the enchiladas suiza were very good. I always like when a restaurant uses all white chicken meat in their enchiladas. The chips and salsas before the meal were great. There were two types of chips ( which appeared to be homemade). One type was a little puffy and the other thin and charred ( so yummy!). Would definitely recommend! read more

The food was ok. Bad customer service . Not friendly and inviting. The food took too long and the place was empty. The waiter didn't ask us if we were doing ok nor asked us if we wanted more to drink. We went because the girl at the Sweet Shoppe next door recommended it. Not going back! read more

I was really excited to finally get to try this restaurant and went there over lunch. I had the enchiladas suizas, and they were just OK. Very cheesy which is good, but not a lot of flavor. My boyfriend's dish was equally lacking flavor, although for both of us you could tell that the ingredients were at least fresh. Overall, just not impressed. read more

Not very good service, do not go, after the lunch rush, disorganized. For the prize and food not worth it
