This review is related to Zara of Menlo Park. Don't go. Very poor customer service, rude, obnoxious help. There are other Zara locations that have more professional staff. Not this one. They are not helpful when looking for items. They also do not seek to accommodate customer returning an item recently purchased even with receipt. The customer service on the men's side is horrible. No one helps you on the floor and the cashiers are rude. The guy in the fitting room ignored everyone so we had to knock on doors to find an unoccupied fitting room. This is my 3rd time in this store and it has been the same each time. This store has the worst customer service. People are standing in long lines and there was only one Asian person at the counter against 23 customers in line and that too on labor day weekend. I am (now was) a regular customer from Zara. I went to exchange my shoes I bought just one day before from NYC and asked for the exchange after showing the receipt and the tag ( of course I had to remove the tag) and they simply refused to take it back even I told them that when I walk I feel some pain in the toe and it is not comfortable. I was not asking for refund. The manager simply refused saying you already wore it. I did not know I will have pain while walking when I bought the shoes. How much can be worn out if it is wore only for few hours. So I simply lost $59.99 just because of these crooks sitting behind the counter. I will never buy anything from them and let everyone know to beware of the return policy they claim they can exchange in 30 days. read more

Terrible experience today on 3/6. Love the clothing and love the staff but the upper management must hire more employees!! There were 15 people on line to pay with one cashier!! Waited for half hour to pay. That is just ridiculous for a Sunday afternoon!! Corporate must take action and immediately hire more help asap for this store!! read more

This Zara has a good selection of Women's and Men's clothing and accessories. Their clothes tend to have an edgy European feel with a twist. I assume the twist comes from their Turkish roots. The clerks are always polite. I just wish the prices were a little lower. read more

I made a Yelp account just to write this review. Management needs to do a better job of training their employees in customer service. Had to deal with an extremely rude employee today who made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by asking for help and gave me attitude from the outset. I understand it's the holidays, but there is no excuse for lacking basic decency. I love the clothes here; don't get me wrong. I love buying at Zara online because I do not have to deal with their bad customer service. This is not the first time that I had such a bad experience in store. The first time was at Zara at the Pentagon City Mall in Arlington, VA. I called to have a few items put on hold so I can try on before making my purchase. Zara rep answered the phone and I was on hold for quite sometime, but it's understandable. They checked that the items I wanted were available so I asked them to hold it for 24 hours. A few hours later, I stopped in the store and learned that they did not have my items. It's either their inventory system is not accurate or the Zara rep did actually look at all. I wasted my time making the trip thief and did not get what I was told on the phone. Today is another bad experience. I walked in at Zara at Tryson corner mall in VA. I looked up this item online and it showed that this item is available in this particular store. I showed a rep an item I was looking at online with the items number, she looked at my phone and said it's not available. She did not remember seeing this item in the store. I thought her approach was interesting because instead of looking at her inventory system on a computer, she just used her memory. Since she did not remember seeing it, therefore it is not available. So I asked her to actually looked it up to confirm that her memory is not an accurate system to rely on. She had a hard time putting in the right item number and did not seem to know how to use the computer system. Another person came by and helped her. Finally, they were able to locate the item. It is available, but it's in a warehouse so they have to go get it. Then, the told me it would take 15-20 minutes and ask me to come back later. So I left the store and walked around. I came back 30 minutes later and asked for my item, and learned that they did not even do anything at all. No one had gone back and get the item. Wasting my time again. A store manager stood right there and did nothing. If you cannot do something, the do not say you would. They are in a customer service business. If you do not like to help people, then you should be doing something else. Zara corporation needs to hire better people and train them accordingly. Had a very deceptive experience at Zara's, Menlo Mall today. After a forty minute drive I arrivied home & reviewed my receipt, I noticed being overcharged on half of my purchases. I drive back to the store & confronted the sales associate that wrongfully rung me up. He reviewed the receipt and said "Oh the price is correct, however the ticket is priced in euros!" I said "I'm not aware that some of your merchandise is marked in euros while others are marked in USA dollars, my purchase is based on the item's ticketing price!" Making a long story short, the sales rep called for the store manager who was extremely rude and completely unapologetic. The store manager basically said to me "Do you want to return this item or keep it?" I said "I'm interested in purchasing the item at the ticketed price not what you unbeknownst to me decide to charge me!" He made no accommodations to price matching the error and quiet frankly, I don't think he gave a flying hoot about the issue. Very dishonest and poor business ethics. I arrived back home and made mention to my daughter of the debacle at Zara's, she said to me "Mom, Zara is being sued for that exact same reason!!" I couldn't believe it and searched online and boy o boy is she right!! Zara is my all time favorite store. I recently went in to purchase a white skirt that I have been wanting for a very long time. I told an associate to put it on hold for me while I used the restroom. I was gone for literally 15 mins. I came back and the skirt was gone. I had a very strong feeling that the associate did it on purpose by her mannerisms. She did not look for the skirt, did not looked concerned or sorry at all. This is the worst service I have ever experienced. I decided to speak to the manger and when I did she did not seem very helpful or concerned either. I will never return to this store ever again. Many people have asked which Zara they should go to, and I have always said ever since this incident to NOT go to the one in Menlo Park mall. read more

This store has by far the worst customer service. I asked one of the sales associates to see if he has a size in a shoe I liked. He said they had it in stock and he would be right back. Waited 20 mins and he still hasn't come out. Asked another sales girl if she can help me and that the guy has been gone for awhile. She said whatever size is out is what they had. Told her the guy went to the back to check and she said "ooo then we should have it in stock and he should be back soon". She basically lied to me about the shoe being available. 5 more mins went by and the guy finally comes back but didn't even acknowledge me. Finally looked me in the eyes and didn't say anything and walked away. He forgot about me and wasn't even nice about it. I love Zara but this one is the worst I have ever been to. A guy at the register was fist too busy flirting with a group of girls, while people waited in line, then was too distracted to figure out which items I was buying vs. which items I was returning, all with an attitude. I must say that I absolutely LOVE Zara's clothing line. I have purchased for both my children and myself and love that they have a unique style. HOWEVER!!! I recently purchased a coat there that was just adorbs. I tried the coat on in the store - $225 which fit perfectly. Two weeks later I go to wear the coat and realize that the interior pocket has a huge hole in it. I call Menlo Mall and speak with the manager who tells me that since I wore it and removed the tags I can not return it for exchange and that they no longer have alteration services and that there was nothing that they can do. Unsatisfied with this response I call Corporate office - file a report and send email with pictures and receipt and wait 2 weeks for a response only to be told that they can exchange the coat (and that the manager at Menlo should have offered this option) however the coat is no longer available so my only other option was to return it and buy something else. I asked if there was anyway to issue me a store credit for the amount it would take me to have the hole repaired and nope. Not an option. So I now have to go and pay to have the repairs done ON TOP of the $225. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and I am so upset I don't ever want to shop there again. POOR POOR POOR customer service.
