His instructor (Ronnie Lees) worked with him and got him up on the board, cruising to the beach the first hour. By the end of lesson #5, he was paddling out on his own, starting out on his own (no push), accomplishing simple turns and routinely surfing all the way to the beach. Being a Minnesota kid, this was a truly unique experience. Our only dilemma...next year do we sign him up for another five hour package, or a full camp? Needless to say, he wants to do both.

I love the variety of designs they have now -not just the one that started this brand. There was actually overload in this store and there are some other brands here as well. I know that I could have found something but nothing really caught my eye! I want to be wowed when I look at something or think that it will make a great difference in my life! Almost everything at the Retail store can be bought at the local Marshalls and TJ Maxx for an average of 60%+ LESS THAN THE RETAIL STORE! Each time we have gone into the store we are amazed at the high prices. A lot of the stuff they sell seems to be very 90's and even our own kids think that the Life is Good brand has seen its best days come and go! Marshalls in Newburyport has LIG T-Shirts, water bottles, coolers, umbrellas, towels etc. They have almost everything the LIG Retail store has for much much less. Overall the store is cluttered with dated and overpriced styles even the kids don't think is "hip" anymore. Sad, but even this has come to an end...

We showed up at the meeting location for a surf lesson on time and there was no one here. We had…read moregone to the shop before heading to the meeting site and checked in and the woman said you're all checked in and apparently never alerted anyone that they were checked in. After I called the surf shop to advise them that there was no instructor at the meeting location, I was told who we were supposed to have as an instructor apparently "had a mixup in his schedule" is what the young lady said when calling. This isn't the first time this has happened. When we did this last year same situation of a schedule mixup. The young gentleman at the shop where you pick up your wetsuits are very pleasant and helpful. I was later called by one of the managers to let me know that they were refunding for the full cost of the lesson and that we would still get our lesson. They said they were refunding to apologize for the inconvenience of waiting over 30 minutes past our lesson time for an instructor to arrive.

I showed up at the shop to check in, was easily assisted with the wetsuit fitting, and the girls working the front desk were great helping me find the Tshirt size I wanted. Instructions for where to show up and when for the lesson were super clear. They even took me early, and I had a clear demo of on-land surfing "stance" and paddling. My instructor (Griffin) was so nice and helpful with pushing me out into the waves and explaining literally every aspect of surfing. I had a great time and would highly recommend it!

Dominic, the friendly owner, took us 3 (total novices with 3 pretty distinctly differing ability levels) out, made us feel safe, gave us fantastic guidance, and taught us key skills that enabled us to have a great experience. This was summer 2020, mid-pandemic time, and we felt safe as far as protocols and were very grateful we could still rent the boards and enjoy a lesson. We took the 2-hr option and found it perfect for our novice needs. There was nothing I was looking for that I didn't find there and nothing I'd have changed about the experience.
