After I called the surf shop to advise them that there was no instructor at the meeting location, I was told who we were supposed to have as an instructor apparently "had a mixup in his schedule" is what the young lady said when calling. This isn't the first time this has happened. When we did this last year same situation of a schedule mixup. The young gentleman at the shop where you pick up your wetsuits are very pleasant and helpful. I was later called by one of the managers to let me know that they were refunding for the full cost of the lesson and that we would still get our lesson. They said they were refunding to apologize for the inconvenience of waiting over 30 minutes past our lesson time for an instructor to arrive.

I showed up at the shop to check in, was easily assisted with the wetsuit fitting, and the girls working the front desk were great helping me find the Tshirt size I wanted. Instructions for where to show up and when for the lesson were super clear. They even took me early, and I had a clear demo of on-land surfing "stance" and paddling. My instructor (Griffin) was so nice and helpful with pushing me out into the waves and explaining literally every aspect of surfing. I had a great time and would highly recommend it!

Perhaps, only if you're seeking the smallest game on a very short trip. Is there really such a thing ever as having TOO much? Perhaps, there is no such a thing if you're a "responsible" prepper or an avid enthusiast seeking to advance yourself to handle just about ANY situation thrown your way - including the apocalypse. I definitely do not believe there is such a thing as having too much. And I can bet on it that most of the people here today at Kittery Trading Post feel the same way. Yes, the prices are mostly MSRP and sometimes higher. Yes, you can most likely (99% of the time) get a better deal elsewhere (especially online). But where can you actually have the opportunity to TOUCH everything or be likely seduced to WANT more because you weren't aware that such an item even existed? Here, at KTP, that is exactly what happens. You think you have a particular item in mind? How about being thrown more options that most other stores even dream of carrying? Thought you liked something online? How about holding that item in person and deciding if it is the right fit for just a fraction more of the price (and avoid the need to make returns for the most part?) How about being swayed into another product because you "apparently" didn't research it enough to realize there are even BETTER options that fit your exact needs (or because it's more expensive and you can justify it in person, lol)? Kittery Trading Post is definitely one of my ultimate retail spots as an outdoor enthusiast and an avid prepper (for whatever possible events will ever unfold in my fantasies). And every time I'm here, I always leave with at least one new toy for the personal arsenal. Definitely love this place even if it's not exactly the best bang for the buck.

They usually have events every weekend as well to drive visitors to their store so it's pretty busy all thr time. Reporting live from 2025!!…read more I love this little beach. It's right down the road from my fave seafood shack and for years on my jaunts to NH I've passed it right on by. Welp not this year. I got my fried scallop plate and caught a brilliant sunset from a bench right at the sand's edge. I went around 730pm in early June so there were only like 4 cars and no parking fees. Your mileage is sure to vary now that summer is officially underway. The water looked beautiful and inviting but as you know Ms. Mands does not like walking on sand without a really good reason. And considering it was cool enough to wear a wool hat, there were no good reasons. There's a huge bathhouse in the lot as well as a relatively short distance from sand to water. I bet this place is a real hit during the peak of summer. I legit only came to sit, eat, listen to the waves, and watch the sunset - beyond that can't say much. But my 45 minutes or so here were 5-star all the way!
