This place is DELICIOUS!!!…read more We were met by their very talented craft cocktail bartender, Danny, when we walked down the stairs of this beautifully decorated gastropub. I highly recommend his Spicy Jalapeño Margarita. I also highly recommend the fabulous Carnitas Tacos. Yummmmmmmmm! Then there was the outstanding service given us by the spectacularly beautiful, smart, and gracious CiCi. Thank you both for a wonderful dining experience.

We walked up and we're told by the host that there's a 15 min wait at 6:15PM for inside seating pur we could sit in the outdoor lounge area. We walked around the block and came back just as the host was calling to tell us there was a bar seat available. We descended the steps to what I could only describe as an underground secret garden. It was compact but did not trigger my claustrophobia. There were tables, couches and the bar. We sat at the bar right in front of the cake stand for the oft mentioned Texas Sheet Cake. I ordered the marg special which was grapefruit; my husband ordered the blood orange. Both delicious but the blood orange was a much brighter citrus flavor. We ordered the chips and salsa with a small side of guacamole. I thought the salsa was amazing but husband said it was too much cilantro for his soap gene. Dinner was chicken tinga tacos for me and duck confit tacos for him. The chicken tacos were delicious, among some of the best I've had. The tortilla was a warm, soft, extremely flavorful flour tortilla packed with chicken and topped with microgreens. I'm not a big duck fan so I didnt try my husband's tacos but he loved them. Our second round of drinks was the spicy margarita for me and the same blood orange for him. The spicy margarita did NOT disappoint. We got the last piece of the chocolate Texas Sheet Cake to go as well as an orange vanilla spice cake slice. We ate them at home and both were very good. The staff was all very friendly, funny and warm. We'll go back but definitely wasn't expecting amazing tacos in Maine.

As connoisseurs of Mexican food, it's oftentimes a little dicey to try new places, but other reviews convinced us. The counter and grill are in a colorful space, letting you know that the food will be colorful, too. Not just in taste, but because of the vibrant local fresh ingredients. There are picnic tables scattered around, plus a screened area, and a big sand pit and swingset for the kiddos. My crab quesadilla was amazing, made better by the side salad, guacamole, and cabbage salad. We also has a carnitas and a carne asasa burrito, which were stuffed full of tasty ingredients. While they don't sell alcoholic drinks, you can get them at the close by store and have them with your meal, or BYOB. But their selection of non alcoholic drinks is plenty! And amazing ice cream sandwiches. Check their hours, since they might be seasonal.

Our food was presented beautifully and well cooked. The tortilla for the tacos tasted good, but was a little thick for my taste. And the black beans were well cooked but had no flavor. We didn't LOVE all of the salsas from the bar - they added such a burst of flavor to everything and the pickled onions were a nice touch. We would definitely try it again!

My daughter and I made the "choose your own combo." We we're both excited to see pork tamales on the menu. She matched hers with a crunchy taco and I paired mine with a shredded beef burrito. The place was hopping and I was worried the food would take a long time. Nope. The food came out hot, fresh and fast. Accompanied by creamy, perfectly spiced refried beans topped with gooey melted cheese, I could eat my weight in the beans alone. The tamale was moist, filled with tender seasoned pork covered in the perfect red sauce, it was everything my tastebuds wanted! I could go on forever about the shredded beef burrito. The meat was melt in your mouth tender, seasoned to perfection. The portion was just the right size for me. My daughter wolfed down her taco in three bites practically! She loved it! The meal started off with complimentary chips and homemade salsa. The salsa was tomatoey, garlicky, not too spicy and served chilled on the side with individual dipping bowls. The chips were warm, crispy, and salted. We had to pace ourselves so we saved room for our dinner. The restaurant itself is in a former chain establishment but you'd never know it by the warm decor, fun atmosphere and fast friendly service. Maine's Capitol city needed a place like this. When you're in the mood for authentic Mexican food check this place out!

I had the marinated chicken burrito bowl both days. There was an abundance of chicken, beans, rice, salsa, & crema.. I requested no cheese. The 2nd day I requested extra lettuce, and got more crispy fresh lettuce, the way I like it. So tasty& healthy. My husband had the 3 tacos with the side of beans & rice. He loved the chicken and the beef tacos. The first day he chose veggie for his 3rd and the sweet potato the next day. Those were ok, but he preferred the meat ones. Both days the servers were cheerful, friendly, and attentive. Among the sea of heavier, expensive food options in Bar Harbor, Langosta is a welcome option for something less expensive but fresh, hot, & tasty. They also have a variety of margaritas that we haven't tried yet.

We were seated right away and were greeted with a big welcoming smile by Diana. She took real good care of us. My husband was the one eating here so he ordered the vegan chorizo tacos and the sweet potato tacos (mix 3) with a side of guac and rice and beans. The guac was superrrrr fresh and perfect balanced flavors! The beans were surprisingly flavorful and the tacos were delicious too! Kudos to the chef! The decor is welcoming with plenty seating. Would surely recommend for anyone looking for some vegetarian food for sure!
