This is a nice, quaint winery. The grounds are beautiful & the wine is delicious. They have several different wine clubs to choose from & is able to be customized.

Great service! Friendly and quick to help us. She gave us suggestions too. There is a life size chess board. The bathrooms were clean! The prices were reasonable too. Nice patio with a breeze and shaded areas.

One of the best tasting room views in the valley!

They have succeeded in creating the perfect vibe for a local winery - elegant without pretension, welcoming. We loved their holiday event in December 2024 and will come back in the future, hopefully for another event. Stunning views of local mountains and grape growing. Excellent staff. Dog friendly.

Alastair serviced our table today. Very nice man, very knowledge on the wines they offer and wine in general. Would love to come back and see him again. Thank you and if anyone was considering, please come to Zaca Mesa!

We signed up for Sip and Paint event with my cousins at Zaca last Sunday. Basically you get a glass of wine and some painting supplies, an art instructor walks you through the steps of painting a picture for $45. We had a lot of fun painting and drinking wine. Their Viognier is pretty good, we ended up getting a few bottles to go. Beautiful grounds and outdoor tasting area. Unfriendly staff (makes this place a 4 star) Customer service makes or breaks the experience. Will keep Zaca Mesa in my bookmarks for future visits to the wine country.

This is my friend's fave winery. Came for the annual Black Bear Dinner, this year being the 50th! Very pretty set up, looked like a wedding dinner. The food was good/fine. It could have used more salt/gravy, but the food was catered by a different company. Would come here again in a few years for another Black Bear Dinner. I've also been here for a wine tasting, but it was to hang out with my friends since I don't drink. It's the last winery of the "row." Staff at winery were very nice, friendly, attentive, and helpful.

Ahh made it, time to relax!

First time here. Rachel and Austin were so personable and friendly. Rachel could have a podcast of wine stories that you could push play and fall asleep to. She tells stories with so much passion, we just had to buy half a case of wine. Try to get the reservation on the terrace under an umbrella. It's so peaceful and the view takes all your cares away! We highly recommend for the wine, service, and ambiance!

This review is long overdue (from May 31 2022) - My girlfriend and I stopped by Zaca Mesa on the way home from an around the state road trip on our way back to Los Angeles from Lake Tahoe. We got there right around when they opened so it was fairly slow. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess (Summer) and proceeded to do a tasting - All I can say is WOW - this was the absolute perfect way to start the end our vacation. Summer was phenomenal from her knowledge on the wines, her hospitality, and honestly making the winery one of the peak highlights of our trip. Not only was she amazing from the tasting aspect, she provided us a voucher/ coupon to a nearby restaurant and it was the cherry on top to a memorable vacation. From the wines, the vineyards, and the hospitality, Zaca Mesa gave us a beautiful life long impression. If you are still with the Zaca Mesa team, Thank you Summer! We will never forget our experience there.

Zaca Mesa Winery and the entire team is simply THE BEST! My husband and I got married in October 2024 and toured the venue roughly 2 years prior. Would you believe me if I told you Zaca Mesa was the first and ONLY venue we toured for our wedding? We loved the property and the people SO much that we didn't need to look any further. We booked it right away! We were beyond satisfied with everything! Tara, the events manager, is an absolute dream to work with. She is so kind, so responsive and very helpful. My wedding planner even told me Tara was her favorite venue coordinator she's ever worked with! It is truly a magical location and we could not recommend them enough! My guests were raving about how gorgeous the venue was! And the wine! The wine is smooth, delicious, and affordable. We wish we could get married here over and over again! Obsessed!!!!

Dex with our great server Summer.

Carhartt Family Wines gets five stars for being the only tasting room in Los Olivos that stays open…read morepast 6:00. It was the first of five tastings we did during our weekend in town, and the wines were, admittedly, the least impressive. They went down easy, though, and we had a pleasant visit. We checked into our hotel on Friday around 5:30 and quickly realized that all the wineries on our list were closed. We asked the receptionist where we might be able to do a tasting, and she said Carhartt was our best bet. It was quite open when we walked in, almost intimidatingly so, the live music loud as we rounded the sidewalk outside the enclosed patio. Jack welcomed us into the tasting room and suggested we do a vibe check on the patio before deciding where to sit. We peeked outside and it seemed fun in a way we weren't looking for, a bit of a party atmosphere with a live band and a lot of people. We took our seats in the quieter tasting room, where we were able to enjoy the music from a distance while we drank some wine. We both did the house tasting, which came with five pours of Carhartt wines: the 2024 Top Branch, the 2022 Sin Nada, the 2022 Sangiovese, the 2022 Rebel Roan, and the 2020 Northerly. Jack also gave us a taste of the 2021 Graciano. They were all nice wines, but we particularly liked the Sin Nada, the Sangiovese, and the Graciano, and took home two bottles of each, getting one $25 tasting fee waived with each purchase of three bottles. Jack was a great host, and he told us all about the wines and winery as we went along. (He pre-empted our first question, saying that yes, they were the same Carhartts as the Carhartt clothing label, but not the same company. I guess just the classic generational wealth to winemaking pipeline.) It was a helpful introduction to both the Carhartt wines and Los Olivos, and Jack was good company. I said Carhartt was the least impressive of the wineries we visited, but it's also worth noting that it had the lowest price point. Carhartt isn't gunning for Robert Parker ratings. The wines are accessible and tasty, and I have a feeling we'll go through our bottles very fast.

This place has everything you'd hope for in a wine tasting experience: cozy, welcoming atmosphere and everyone is genuinely cheerful from the moment you walk in. Owner-operated by Mike and Brooke, alongside their son, Chase -- they truly are the heart and soul of the winery. The entire staff are warm, attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, and so friendly it feels like you're visiting old friends rather than a tasting room. Even better, they stay open later than many spots in town, making it the perfect place to linger, unwind, and savor the experience just a little longer. Every detail is meticulous, from the beautiful atmosphere in their back patio to the way they guide you through each pour. They take the time to explain the wines without ever making you feel rushed, and their passion shows in every conversation. An experience defined by outstanding service, lovely wines, and a warm, easygoing vibe. And as an added bonus, they're wonderfully dog-friendly -- making it even more welcoming for everyone. Overall, it's hands-down the best place in Los Olivos. It's definitely my go-to whenever I'm in town, and I genuinely look forward to visiting a few times a year. Carhartt Family Wines never disappoints -- it's an experience as wonderful as the wine itself.

They offer a complimentary olive oil tasting, allowing you to truly appreciate the depth and character of each variety. The fresh bread served alongside the tasting is crafted from scratch in nearby Los Alamos at Bob's Well Bread Bakery, and it is delicious. A few of my personal favorites were the Santa Ynez, Garlic, and Habanero olive oils. The Garlic was so outstanding that I immediately purchased a bottle to take home. It is incredibly versatile. The setting itself is just as memorable as the tasting. There is ample charming outdoor seating beside a small creek, and the gentle sound of flowing water creates a peaceful, almost meditative atmosphere. The vibes are truly immaculate. Inside, the shop is beautifully styled and filled with thoughtfully selected gifts and, of course, an impressive array of olive oils available for purchase. Hayley (sorry if it's spelled wrong) was especially warm and helpful, making the visit feel welcoming. They also offer WiFi, which allowed us to linger a bit longer and get some work done. The place is casual and not tiny, but it definitely fills up. I don't think they were taking walk-ins while we were there. The tasting room--or tasting patio, I suppose--was really pleasant, a breezy outdoor space in front of a charming brick-red house with a strong Los Olivos aesthetic. My only complaint is that the bathroom was a porta-potty, though it was the nice kind, with running water. We got our own table and a friendly, knowledgeable young server brought us our wines and explained what we were drinking. He was busy, so this was one of the less in-depth tastings we did on this trip, but the experience was easy and enjoyable. There were two tastings on offer, the classic estate flight and the "fresh and esoteric." Since this was our first visit, we both went with the estate, and it was a great introduction to Stolpman's wines. We tried the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc, the 2024 Chenin Blanc, the 2024 La Cuadrilla, the 2023 Sangiovese, and the 2024 Angeli, the label's flagship Syrah. They were all excellent and very well priced--the Cuadrilla goes for $26. It's also a delicious wine with a cool provenance, a red blend made by Stolpman's vineyard workers on a designated block, in what looks to be a successful profit sharing project. The tasting fee was $25, waived with a three-bottle purchase. We snapped up three each of the Sauvignon Blanc and the Sangiovese, which cost $24 and $36 a bottle. Tremendous value for such outstanding wines. I have a feeling we'll go through these quickly, and may be tempted to join the wine club if we do. Either way, though, I hope to go back to Stolpman. I'm definitely curious about that second tasting.
