To start, we ordered the Mantu, which were really good--nicely made dumplings with a great mix of flavors. For my main, I had the Quabili Pallow. It came with a generous portion of rice topped with very moist, tender lamb along with carrots and raisins. The dish wasn't heavily seasoned, but it still had a really nice balance of flavors and was very satisfying. I also ordered tea, which was excellent and paired well with the meal. Overall, De Afghanan delivered a comfortable dinner with tasty food and great service. It's a solid spot to check out if you're in the mood for Afghan cuisine.

As my fiancé and I were winding down from our date night we stopped at the hookah club and witnessed the employee yelling demeaning disrespecting a african american woman customer as she was sitting. My fiancé was prepared to be on defense for the lady if needed be. Background checks and serious security is needed to continue business here. The lady held her ground luckily she was with 2 friends or maybe 1 boyfriend but the younger mexican curly hair with hat employee kept pushing cursing and poking start large problems. We would never return here they need to go out of business. We left to avoid ruining our date night which sucks because my fiancé was going to show me his pool table skills before leaving. They usually have deals that go on during the week (10$ Tuesday for example). I belive they just remodeled inside, and it's a great place to go to have a good smoke and be able to relax and unwind. They just got some new outdoor heaters for the weekends when they are usually packed so people can sit outside comfortably no matte the weather. I don't even want to start on the staff because right away, they open their business with open arms and treat everyone as an individual not just a random person. They make everyone feel like their family and at home. Overall, I give this place more than 5 stars but it won't allow me to do that. Great staff, great service, great hookah, amazing atmosphere. And they had everything we needed for a big group party with.. foods (i love the appetizers! potato burek will be a repeat), hookah + affordable refills, beer & wine, and of course the bellydancer who was most entertaining. Orders are taken at the counter, they provide you with a number marker, and servers will attend to your table when the orders are ready. This took a bit of time, but for a Saturday night with our big party they did pretty well. We filled up the wait time with hookah, taking photos in the beautiful patio, and socializing. The women's bathroom was spacious and clean, with a full-length mirror for outfit checks. There is an indoor smoking room as well, for the more kick-back "don't-bother-me" sessions. Overall an outstanding place.

It took along time to get our food and it was on a Monday night and there was hardly anybody there. I asked for three waters to drink and the waitress braught us 3 bottled waters. I asked do they cost, she said yes a dollar each. I would have preferred to know that in advance. Most restaurant offer free water, that kind of rubbed me the wrong way, that is bare minimum, to get complimentary water. Atleast tell me before that it cost, I didnt see it anywhere on the menu. The bread was obviously store baught and not taste at all. We didnt get any bread when our food was served , then the waitress said, do you want bread, I said yes, doesn't our meals come with bread? She said yes but sometimes people say they don't want bread. I just over all felt like it didn't go as smoothly as it could have. One other thing is they didnt have the smoothie flavor we wanted at first because their order didn't come in. Im sure that can happen but it just followed the theme of the experience. Kind of mediocre.
