I've eaten here many times. I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. For breakfast just a couple of times. I mostly had lunch and dinner here with family, friends and my hubby. This one of the few places in town that is a nice but casual restaurant with a good menu for breakfast and lunch, and for dinner too. The prices are reasonable too. They have a great bar with drink specials. I've tried a few cocktails and sweet wines as well as their coffee selections. Today's visit was at lunch time with a friend. I wanted to show up early to get on the wait list early so my guest didn't have to wait. To my surprise, I only had to wait 5 minutes. The wait time was much longer when we were leaving Parking does get full quickly at the top area. Just remember there is parking below, but you will have to face stairs to reach the top level to see the hostess for seating. My lunch meal that I usually get is a Chinese Chicken salad, today was no different. I usually request for extra dressing.. My husband and I like that they do serve soda water. Our server was very friendly and checked on us often. I forgot to point out that when I come with family we prefer outdoor seating if the weather permits. The reason being is that it is loud inside. There is background music, but it could barely be heard because of the echoing of people talking. It is difficult to hear the people you are there with. Today I opted to sit inside because it was warm outside. Well, it was pretty warm inside so the next time it is warm outside I will opt to sit outdoors any way. Great food, nice bar, outdoor seating and good prices. You''ll find me back here.

Decent selection of lunch and dinner options. I've been here a few times, last time I was here I ordered the turkey and bacon sandwich. It definitely needed some mayo or a different selection of the bread. It was pretty dry to me, thankfully my mimosa helped break it down!

4.5 stars I've driven by this restaurant so many times over the years. This was my first time coming here. I had a little breakfast get together with my friends. Such a nice relax atmosphere. We put our order in and the food came out quickly. My friend ordered the avocado toast. Looked amazing. I got the eggs Benedict. I enjoyed my dish, but my poached egg was more on the medium side, than the runny side. I wasn't asked how I wanted my egg. But overall I would definitely be back. It's a nice place to just eat and relax and catch up with friends!

After a failed attempt to find this place on a previous visit (thanks, Apple Maps), I finally made it here with a friend for a late brunch. Fair warning: Apple Maps directed me to Z South, which happens to be another excellent restaurant nearby. This time, we did a little exploring on foot and successfully tracked it down. The restaurant has a charming, cozy atmosphere that feels like a neighborhood hidden gem. We headed upstairs and waited a bit before being acknowledged and added to the waitlist. It was surprisingly busy for a Thursday afternoon, so patience is definitely helpful during peak times. Once seated, our experience improved significantly thanks to Alma. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. For lunch, I ordered the tuna melt with a Caesar salad, while my friend went with the French dip. Both dishes were satisfying, well-prepared, and generously portioned. Nothing overly fancy here--just quality comfort food executed well. What stood out most was the value. In a time when brunch prices seem to climb higher every month, it was refreshing to enjoy a satisfying meal without feeling like I was paying premium prices. One thing to keep in mind: this isn't a brunch-and-cocktails destination. They don't serve alcohol, so if cocktails are part of your brunch ritual, you'll want to look elsewhere. If your priority is good food, friendly service, and wallet-friendly prices, this spot delivers and is well worth seeking out.

We recently visited for a Father's Day lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The establishment offers ample seating, excellent service, and generous portion sizes. We noted a slight initial confusion due to the proximity of two Z Bar locations; one offers breakfast, while the Z South location is exclusively for lunch. Both locations provide abundant parking, including an extended dining area and outdoor seating options.

Wow! This place is amazing! Not only is a nice restaurant but the prices for the size of the meal were amazing. I haven't paid this little for a big meal like this since 2000 lol. The place does get busy but the wait was fast. Service was also fast. Their mimosas were delicious! Definitely coming back here again. This is a place to come eat and try all their menu!

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the options are delicious. They are super busy every time we go,, but worth waiting the 15 to 20 minutes.

Still delicious food. Still an inviting atmosphere. Servers were still pleasant . . . albeit, they seemed heavily tasked. Greeters were cool, but I could read lips when they were walking about. Some not-so-nice things were being said about whomever. We picked "Z" today because they had the Indy 500 on a couple of the bar area TVs. We had a distant peek at only two screens in-between other sports like women's field hockey on a couple other screens. I accomplished what I set out to do; watch a bit of the Indy 500. Mission accomplished. Z-Cafe is a good place to get the Sunday breakfast until 3pm and the lunch option after 11am. They do have a good and diverse menu. Do pay attention to the daily happy hour and daily early-bird specials. I'm not one to complain about much unless it is due. Today it is due. Today revealed some overhead dusting needed on the game kill busts along the walls, and the larger leafed indoor plants were in need of a wipe-down. Also, I went to open the Tabasco that was on the table. The wife looked down at the bottle and cap and was overly impressed by their cleanliness. I did point out to her, that it was a new bottle and the staff failed to remove the plastic "safety" wrapper. Ohhhh!, she said. We attempted to pay our ticket and waited close to 10 minutes before it was picked up. A manager walking the floors should have picked it up. What a great opportunity to make a bit of customer contact. Still a good place to eat. Let's hope it remains that way. By the looks of the crowd, it will. CritDicks

Z Cafe What a great place to eat and drinks. Our server Kai M, was amazing. We were a party of 6 and he was super attentive, patient and got everything we needed. We came for breakfast and boy does this place get packed. Come early or prepare to wait. But honestly the wait isn't too long, also it's worth the wait. Our breakfast came out pretty quick for being so busy. And there were no complaints with our breakfast from our table. Thank you Z Cafe for your hospitality and good food. Can't wait to try something different from your menu.

Z Jeanine and all the employees were absolutely fabulous. I love the little hostess. The place was busy and quite loud, but it was decorated great, the food was good, fabulous and affordable. Love the sushi rolls and I love all the paintings that they have hanging on the wall, I don't know if they're for sale but they're fabulous. Located upstairs has an outdoor patio dining area with heaters. We sat inside by the TV's, had a beer. They have a full bar, beer and wine. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Very cool restaurant. Perfect for lunch/brunch! They have a terrace with beautiful seating as well as plenty of indoor tables. Their menu has a wide variety from salads, sandwiches, burgers and even Hawaiian! I ordered the trio which comes with half a sandwich, soup and salad. I went with their tuna sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. The sandwich was very generously made with plenty of tuna and avocado. So fresh and yummy. The salad was good and I appreciated the mixed greens rather than standard iceberg served at most places. The soup was kind of bland in my opinion. Lacked salt and needed some type of spice, maybe some chipotle pepper would've elevated the flavors. My husband ordered the Hawaiian plate with beef teriyaki and he loved it! And for the price you really can't beat it. Their iced tea was really nice too. Service was good. Overall a nice lunch

We sat on the outside patio and it was really nice. My wife had the mushroom provolone burger cooked medium and perfect. Sweet potato fries were a real treat, we all had some of hers. My granddaughter really enjoyed the grilled cheese and the fries were really good too. I had the Hawaiian bowl w chicken but after seeing the burger I kind of wish I ordered that! Our server was very friendly but it seemed really busy like another server or two would have been useful. Will def come back and have a burger and bring the whole family.

Yummy food and quick service! Entrance was a bit confusing with a stroller but just make sure to park in the back upper lot.

I ordered the rib eye with eggs and let me tell you it was more than we expected. My steak was cooked to perfection and it to mention the size of the platter! Well worth the price. And the fact that you have other options and not just toast, like biscuits and gravy or pancakes without the extra charge. That's a surprise in this economy. The Hubby ordered the Ireland skillet. And that skillet was fully loaded! There was a good ratio from corned beef to potatoes to eggs to veggies that would make a perfect bite with every scoop. Pleasant patio seating, friendly staff and an OK braised short rib taco. This past (and last) time was a terrible experience. The TVs on the patio were too loud (it was 2pm - hardly anyone there - no need for them to be on at all), the waitress was not very bright or friendly and the food was disgusting. Repeat: disgusting. I ordered the Chimichuuri Ribeye - supposedly a 'house specialty'. The cut of meat was waaaaaaay below par - grisly and tough. The real disappointment was the Chimichurri sauce which was not like any Chimmichuri sauce I've ever seen or tasted before. It was gooey red/yellow oil with floating bits of gray matter...I took 2 bites and was done. I didn't even feel like the meat would be safe to give my dog. Prior to writing this I called 2X to speak with a manager but both times that was a hassle. It's possible there is no one actually managing Z South. There are so many people with $ in Fallbrook/Bonsall...it amazes me they don't care more about the food quality in their local restaurants.
