The owner, Peter, is an absolutely wonderful host! We came for a midnight snack and he was so gracious and welcoming. He was thrilled when he learned we were locals. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his burgers. He warmly invited us to dine in instead of taking carry out. He told us a lot about the history of the area. And he gave us a bottle of water. The burgers and fries were definitely yummy. The old bay fries were perfectly seasoned and salty. The burger was z style and nicely prepared. The portions were generous. You see a lot of AU students coming in at night which is expected but it was a great place. I would love to come back.

Always such friendly kind service!! This is seriously my favorite burger place ever. I'm a very picky eater so take it from me if you just want to grab a bite and get excellent service this is your place. They also offer vegan, doubles, turkey and chicken sandwiches.Grab a milkshake and enjoy. By the way it's extremely clean.

Been here multiple times and have always had a good experience! The food is good and love all of the multiple options. Usually I get overwhelmed by so many choices but at a place like this and with the great service that you get, it makes it a lot easier. I've had the burgers, chicken burgers, cheesesteaks, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, LMAO almost a little of everything haha. I still haven't been able to try the shakes though. It reminds me of Cookout (if you're from the south). Of course be aware you're not coming here for something (necessarily) HEALTHY but you're coming here for something GOOD. Great fast food in Tenleytown~ I particularly love the photo collage of the staff on the wall. It warms up the environment. Also there's plenty of spaces to sit, even outdoors. Again, the service is what makes this place extra awesome. And I know they support the community in various ways too so support them back!

One of if not the best burger around town. service was excellent. The owner Peter was very nice and very welcoming he even gave myself my daughter and her friend a free milkshake. He didn't have to do that but glad he did. Now the burger and fries were delicious and so was the milkshake. Peter thank you for a very pleasant meal and a nice atmosphere. will definitely be back. Also they had a carotid juice drinks that were different and Dee-licious!!!!!!!!

Worst burgers with burnt fries and over recooked onions rings, I/We ever ate! The mint shake had mint flavor passed over the blender. Z Burger was a "No,No Don't Do It!" We took one for our generations..don't,don't, do it!!! Why charge a package fee, $2.28 and this was a dine-in "almost regurge-a-meal?"

Met up with the crew for a burger like brunch at Z-Burger and let's just say we all left with a food coma. No, they do not offer a brunch but it was breakfast/lunch time when we all arrived so we dubbed it a Burger Brunch!! A hungry bunch we are, we tried a little bit of everything from the menu!! These are in no way you average burger, either and if you are a one patty wonder, come and elevate you burger bite!! The patties on the burgers are fresh and made with care. Juicy and tender sirloin meat that will have you doing a double take, all for good reasons. Toppings are fresh and plentiful and actually match the size of the burgers. If you are not big on bread, you can get a bun-less burger as well, all you gotta do is ask! The fries are amazing!!!!! Double fried so wen you break it in half you hear the snap yet it is still a pillowy potato on the inside. Dip them in the Z sauce and you are in business. Literally, you can put the Z sauce on dang near anything and your taste buds will thank you!! Take the onion rings for a spin as well because they are satisfying as well. Did I tel you how crispy the chicken sammie is? With or without bacon, your choice of course, you have never had a chicken sammie like this!! The flavor is pure!! Not too much crispy exterior, juicy and tender meat interior and just down right yummy!!! The chicken is actual chicken breast, no thighs here at all!! If you love a cheesesteak, come and get it here!! Whether its steak of chicken you will not be disappointed!!! Fully loaded and fantastic you will find that you are full yet you continue to eat because the food is just that good!! You need a drink now right? You need a milkshake!!! With quite a few flavors to chose from they are sure to have one that catches your eye. Do not fret, the shakes are thick so they do not melt easily. The staff is the best!! Peter went out of his way to ensure our large party was taken care of and to make sure we had everything we needed during out stomach filling session. Luckily, they have a lot of space at this location so you are able to find somewhere to sit even when they are busy between the indoor and outdoor seating. If you are looking for a good burger, look no further and do it the Z way!!!

Based on this initial experience, I'd be back for sure. Good happy hour too. Now, this location may be a little out of my way, but thankfully there are closer Duke's.

The service when we went left a lot to be desired. It was busy for sure being a weekend but not overwhelming. There were empty tables inside. Even still, it took forever to get acknowledged at times just to take our order. If we hadn't asked someone walking by for the bill, we still may be there. We had an app of fries and then my main was the burger with fries. The fries were great. They are those style of pub fries that are crispy and delicious. The garlic aioli dip was a great pairing for them. The burger was fine. It wasn't anything out of this world but it was still good. All the toppings blended well with the burger. I felt it could have used some more flavor. Duke's is in an unbeatable spot being right across from the entrance to the zoo. If you are looking for a bite right there, it's a good option.

Eaten fresh at the gas station, the chicken was still steaming after I took my first few bites. I ordered it "spicy" and it was just the right level for me. Like Roaming Rooster's honey butter chicken sandwich, Nash and Smashed's also has cheese in it, which I think overpowered the honey butter oozing from the top of the chicken. The chicken itself, though, was delicious and juicy. I got a side of their creamy signature sauce in the bag, but I did not really need it since there was already plenty of sauce for me inside the sandwich. It probably would have gone well with their waffle fries had I gotten them. The sandwich alone was enough to fill me up. A big reason for me coming to Nash and Smashed was a 3.99 deal for the Oh My Thigh chicken sandwich that they advertised on their Instagram page. I was bummed to learn this location was not doing it. This gas station version of their menu didn't even have that chicken on it, so the worker had no idea what I was talking about. Just a warning if you see any deal on their social media page. There's stool seating on the side with a lovely view of the gas station and Connecticut Ave out the window. There was enough room for four to five people. Another comparison to Roaming Rooster, the chicken sandwich prices are a little cheaper than RR's. Only a few menu items sound similar, but Nash and Smashed has a larger selection of burgers, chicken buckets, sides, and drinks. FWIW some guys next to me raved about their hamburgers, especially the sauce.

Absolutely love!!…read more Such a great concept, fresh burgers with a plush, toasty potato bun that your teeth just sink into perfectly. Crispy edges on the wagyu meat, so juicy. I tried both the original and the papaya salad toppings. Papaya salad topping 4.5/5, I love how crunchy the mixture is, super sweet with a slight pickled taste that cuts through the richness so well. I'm big on texture and this had all the crunch I was looking for. OG burger toppings 5/5, I love how the veggie toppings are finely chopped and tossed in their burger sauce. It tastes so delicious and you get a bit of every veggie in each bite, which is so smart and honestly amazing. I've always hated when tomatoes slide around or when you have to wait to find a pickle in your burger, this made every bite perfect. Fries were pretty standard but came with the same burger toppings. I wish they mixed it up and offered more Filipino inspired toppings or different sauce options because it's the same burger sauce that's in both the papaya salad burger and the original. It can get a bit of flavor fatigue. I know they offer other sauces for purchase, but it would be nice if those were included on the fries too for some variety. And yes, the ube soft serve is worth it. Yes x100, get it. So creamy and rich. I didn't realize how much I missed ube, oh my gosh. Aaand the restaurant is super casual. Only bar seating around the edge of the restaurant. Not a very good place to sit formally or invite a lot of people to because it's quite tiny I guess. Also had such cute art around the walls. The burgers here are as good as In-n-Out burgers, but I think I'm slightly biased toward Joia burgers just because of that Asian twist. Joia topping is similar to American style burger, but papaya salad is Asian-inspired and add a very refreshing kick to the burger. Ube soft serve with toasted coconut flakes was also excellent. Not too sweet, and the coconut flakes added a nice crunch to the ice cream. Service is great and friendly. Very cute ambiance with children's drawings everywhere.
