North Point, Hong Kong Island

Review #700 I…read moreprobably read like three dozen reviews to find the best hotel that suits our specific wish list for our trip to Hong Kong and Asia. Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour checked almost all of the boxes and the best part was we redeemed our stay using points. North Point is a nice and safe neighborhood. It might not be as convenient as staying in Causeway Bay (where my sister stayed) or on the Kowloon side, but it's less crowded. We still have 7-Eleven, restaurants, shops, and cafes nearby. Two blocks from MTR. The ferry is downstairs. Starbucks and YiFang are on the ground level if you miss home. This 5 stars hotel has all of the amenities that you can expect. Our room on the 9th floor has a nice view of Victoria Harbor and Kowlooon. A small sitting area in the corner with a desk to do some work. Slippers, ropes, iron and iron boards, toiletries are all provided. They even have a fancy coffee/hot water machine. It took us a while to figure out how to use it but it's amazing. I need a cup of warm water first thing in the morning. The beds are very comfortable and I crashed each night from all the walking and activities. The room felt clean and housekeeping are great. Not on our list, but there is a pool on the top floor with the amazing view. Hong Kong is hot and humid even during early December, so an option to swim is nice. Even if you don't swim, it's still nice to sit by the pool and enjoy the view. Tip: You can store your luggage with concierge for free. That worked really well for us because we went to Malaysia for 3 days and came back to HK. I can't recommend this hotel enough and will likely stay here again in the future.

Hotel has excellent customer service and that s why they are 5 stars hotel . We arrived early in the morning like 8 am . They have the service to keep our luggage so that we could go out without worrying about them . They also told us that our room would be ready by one pm so we could have an early check in . The lobby was grand and beautiful. Just happened to see a married couples in traditional Chinese clothes with video and camera team ... walking down their stairs to the lobby . Their lounge and restaurants are beautifully decorated, with a lot of food choice and full bar service. We booked the seafood buffet on Saturday evening . The Buffett includes lobster , abalone , etc . It is on special promotions as buy one get one free . The price cheaper at lunch time and almost double the price for dinner ( specular dinner ocean views ) . Weekdays are cheaper than Friday , Saturday & Sunday . The promotion will end in March 30,2026 but they will have a new promotion soon for different dates. The room was beautiful with many nice amenities. I like the night light under the night table so I can see when the light is off and nothing too bright to affect my sleep . Bathroom has a bathtub for jacuzzi and a standing shower next to it . The toilet and sink are modern designs with a classic touch . Very elegant . They gave us two coupons for free drinks at the lounge after we checked in . The room and the ambiance of the hotel made me feel relax , comfortable and delightful. Love to come here again on our next trip to Hong Kong . Happy New year ! My dear Yelp friends .

Check-in was smooth and efficient, with three staff members at the front desk. I was assigned Ro no noom 1505, a corner room with one double bed. I had assumed a "double" would be closer to a queen size, but that was not the case. The bed was smaller than expected, and the room itself felt quite tight--even by Hong Kong standards. That said, the essentials were solid. The Wi-Fi worked reliably, and the bathroom had strong water pressure with consistent hot water. Toiletries were from Elemis, which was a nice touch. The desk, however, was extremely small--so compact that it was difficult to sit comfortably and use it for any extended period. Daily housekeeping is available, though I chose not to use it. The TV offered a few international news channels, which I appreciated given the ongoing tensions involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran--it was helpful to stay informed. The hotel also offers breakfast, but we did not try it during this stay. Amenities are limited: the gym is quite small, and the pool was closed for maintenance at the time of our visit. Overall, every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. Special thanks to Calvin at the concierge desk for his excellent local snack recommendations.

The service is due to the fact that the tourism college is connected to this hotel, so they're very committed to making sure the students know the proper way to treat customers. Secondly, all the amenities that come with the stay were fabulous! We opted for a Harbor view King room on the executive level. Totally worth the extra coin!! Our mini bar was filled everyday and everything in it was delicious and complimentary. The breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor was a real, quality buffet. It had dim sum, traditional English breakfast items and American items as well. There was an omelette station, an udon station and a fresh juice station! This buffet was complimentary with our executive room. You could also enjoy breakfast upstairs in the Above & Beyond lounge, which we tried once. But it was a menu only option and the buffet was too good to forgo. Another perk of the executive room was the complimentary tea time and cocktail hour in the Above & Beyond lounge. The rooms are a little lacking of soundproofing, so I'd suggest earplugs and white noise if you're a light sleeper like me.

It was perfect for viewing the 8 pm Symphony of Lights on Hong Kong island and you can stream the audio soundtrack from your phone onto the speakers in the room. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. We travelled with our two daughters and the suite had kids robes and kids cups and toothbrushes waiting for them. The lounge was wonderful for a quiet breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails. And the minibar in the suite was well stocked with sodas, juices, water, tea and coffee. The suite was reasonably priced versus suites in other hotels and allowed an occupancy of two adults and two children. Definitely recommend this hotel.

My wife and I came for a recent trip for 12 days and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. We requested the housekeeping staff to clean our room every other day, and asked them to change the sheets midway through our trip and they did a good job. As part of our reservation, we got free breakfast buffet on their 1/F Restaurant "A Chef's Table", which was tasty and had a whole bunch of options. We didn't try any other hotel restaurants, or try the pool or other amenties. The hotel's wifi was pretty strong. Despite setting up thermostat, my wife was hoping the heat were be stronger in our room, while they weren't able to adjust the central air, they provided my wife a portable heater on her nightstand. While on previous trips we've stayed in North Point, we chose this hotel because Tseung Kwan O was an convienient location for seeing the relatives and friends for this trip. Within walking distance there were many food and shopping options, and we could see all of Hong Kong getting more busy as the borders were opening up, the New Territories still don't seem as busy being in the center of the Island or Causeway Bay or Tsim Sha Tsui. While in the NT, we were able to get wherever we needed to go pretty convieniently through MTR or bus. I didn't book the reservation but my wife said it was a pretty good deal. I'd recommend this hotel.

Popcorn mall is also connected with two nearby TKO malls. As for the hotel itself, my experience with staff have always been pleasant whether its with the front desk or the cleaning ladies. The lobby and elevators were always very clean (although elevators were a little tad slow). The rooms were also clean and spacious, some with a pretty good view of nearby parks/outdoor spaces. Overall was very quiet as well. The only thing about the rooms is that the shower water wasn't super hot. Staff responded to our concerns pretty quick and it got better. My room also featured a bathroom with a glass wall. There is an option to have blinds down (inside the bathroom) but because of the light on the other side of the room, you can still see inside the bathroom - just something to be aware if you're sharing the room. The gym was also very clean and pretty standard with equipment. I wish they had a bigger space for yoga mats/open space but I was able to find a little corner for myself. There is an outdoor pool that is going to reopen in April 2023. Breakfast buffet is another add on option. It featured a good range of Asian (esp Hong Kong style) and Western classics. It had your omelets, sausages, hot food, bread/cereal, but also had wonton noodles, congee with diff condiments/sauces, etc. Overall enjoyed my stay here with many reasons to recommend this hotel to others!

Filled with shops, high & low, food and easy access to convenience stores like 7/11 on the MTR level. Easy walk out to neighborhoods like Wan Chai for local eats, and strolled a little further to Central or CWB! Be sure to do booking/resy for restaurants - seems to be the way to go. The hotel itself is well maintained. The rooms are beautiful, even is it's a little dated in some areas (bathroom) but the views are amazing looking at the hills, trees and houses above. Love that they provide international plugs already, so no need to have your converters. Hospitality: staff are all friendly, warm and welcoming. They always greet their guests with a smile. Housekeeping team - top notch! I'm so glad we picked JW, over the Conrad (ugh don't ask, had the worse experience in Singapore)... since we are members of both rewards programs. I feel like the JW is more on brand as their top tier namesake. I'm happy to be a Marriott Bonvoy member and excited for more stays! Pro tip: with the Marriott Bonvoy, you get late check out, so if you decide on a late flight, you don't need to rush. Just ask Concierge to make a note of it.

Hotel is located on the eastern side of HK Island and is about a 30 min MTR (subway) ride to central. Conveniently next to City Plaza mall where there is a wide variety of shops and restaurants. The hotel has a modern feel and layout. The beds and pillows are comfy and the hotel has installed filtered water faucets in everyone room to go "green" and reduce water bottle consumption. My one gripe is the bathroom layout for standard rooms. Since the standard rooms are not large, the bathroom has an open layout. If traveling alone, this is not an issue. However, if traveling with a friend or a significant other, you can hear all the bathroom "sounds" from everywhere in the room. The one positive about the bathroom is the waterfall shower! Overall, great hotel with modern amenities in a great location at a decent price. Convenient to the mall and restaurants and MTR. Would definitely recommend if you want to get away from the crowds of central and save some money!
