As a result of my work with her this past year, I can now deliver several pieces of my workshops with more confidence and authenticity. This increased confidence has allowed me to feel more joy in doing something that is really scary but very important to me. Having regular meetings with Alicia helped me stay accountable to myself and make slow and steady progress on what felt like huge, overwhelming long term goals. While I thought I would spend all my time with her practicing my presentations, she recognized that slowing me down and giving me tools to tend to my fears, self-doubt and self-criticism first was important to eventually being able to share these powerful teachings with groups effectively by bringing more of my full self. As a result of my work with Alicia, I feel more hopeful and less discouraged in my own capacity to make the kinds of contributions I want to make. I highly recommend her as a coach and just as a very special human being.

I had a 20-minute live presentation in January that I was stressing out about, so I contacted Alicia to help me prepare. It was sooooo helpful. Alicia and I connected easily and she made me feel very safe and comfortable while also holding me accountable and asking me a lot of questions to help form my presentation. She also taught me several tips and exercises to get back into my body and release some of the anxiety that was building up in my mind. With her compassionate guidance, I successfully presented my talk in front of a live audience of around 180 attendees. It was an incredibly rewarding experience and I'm so glad I had the support of Alicia during this time. Looking back on this time in my personal development, I realize I was going through a transition of being more expressive and expanding the way I thought about myself as a creative person. I was wanting to take more risks and come out of my shell more. This type of transition can be very scary and lonely, and I'm so glad that I had Alicia's support, guidance and non-judgemental listening while I went through the ups and downs of finding my voice. I highly recommend Alicia's coaching services for anyone that might be going through a similar transition and in need of some extra support and confidence boosting!

I hired Karen to redesign our storefront of a vegan restaurant in a regional shopping center…read more Karen was able to come up with the new design solution very quickly. Her ideas were so original and attractive, we were able to define the scope of work in a couple of meetings. She exceeded my expectations in every design component which we decided upon. She helped me to find a professional photographer at a reasonable price and worked directly with her to create super-appealing photos of our food. Karen never compromised her artistic standard. She demanded the photographer to continue working on a particular food item even after she had spent hours on it. Karen has opened my eyes about what a food photo should look like. Over the last fifteen years, I have worked with many amateur and professional photographers. I have never met anyone like Karen in terms of artist taste and attention to details. Karen loves her work and truly cares about her clients. She works hard and was able to complete the projection ahead of schedule. She is also an awesome writer. Our new design has a story board about the history and the founder of the restaurant. She was able to tell our story even better than we could. The story she wrote is not only inspirational to our customers but also to our managers and workers. Karen goes extra miles to help the small business owners like me who are short in time. For example, after she finished designing the to-go menu, she sent the design directly to an online printer. And all I need to do is wait for the printed menu to arrive. I cannot say enough good things about Karen. I will certainly contact her first when there is a design project in the future.

Or, you can pull out your middle finger and show it to the 'man'. But sometimes ads are way too damn good or funny to resist, and you wonder who was the genius who came up with the fucking good idea. BSSP is one of those stealth agencies who mass produce amazing creative work. A lot of ads for Coke, Mini Cooper, Sterling, Converse or Sprite are made by this agency in Sausalito. To work here, sense of humor is a must and getting hammered after a strategy session is a top preference. And what gets even better - getting hammered and hanging out on a fucking sailboat, while getting paid coupla hundred an hour.

As part of BSSP's introduction to the MINI community, they held a large party gathering all MINIs, local and far, to converge to Sausilito in April 30, 2006 for the First BSSP Ad Agency Run (with the help of NorCal MINIs). I believe there were well over 200 MINI and mini's in attendance. We went on a near 100 mile cruise through Marin County, before looping back to BSSP for a BBQ. Lots of good times and great introduction to the MINI community. UPDATE: For 2007, BSSP has this new Motorby program in select cities: San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and NYC. The program is simple, in these cities there are electronic billboard, when a MINI owner cruises by with a proximity keyfob, the billboard will display a custom message tailored to the owner. Very fun and ingenious. Since this is a pilot program, select owners in those cities have been given an email to opt-in to this program. This 'ad' is targeted to existing owners, for non-owners, well, it leaves you intrigued with the brand and may generate curiousity and make you wander into a showroom for an upclose and personal with a MIN.
