Yuubi Sushi is impeccable. Taste, Service, and unique flavors. This place was recommended to me by a local whom I met my first month here in Oregon. He had traveled over 24 different countries including Japan. They mentioned that this was very close to what they had experienced in Japan. So I took their word for it and was excited to see what Yuubi Sushi was all about. I've only had the chance to taste three rolls during my first visit. Yet, I was able to be immersed by so many delightful flavors. The first roll was The Temptation (salmon, avocado, pickled radish inside top with seared dried aged bluefin tuna hint of black pepper and truffle mustard) and this was my favorite roll out of the three. The mustard really brought out the flavors of the picked radish and umami flavors. Next, Salmonlicious (Ora King Salmon with cucumber inside tops with Ora King Salmon, fried salmon skin and yuzu kosho) was ordered side by side with The Temptation. The yuzu alone for a citrus lover like me, made my heart smile and left my stomach in a flutter (a good one). Lastly, The Insanity (dried aged japan yellowtail and cucumber inside top with Ora King Salmon, garlic albacore and truffle paste and seared with A5 wagyu fat). I appreciate the softness of this roll and the Smokey flavor from the dried aged yellowtail. My fiancé mentioned that he wanted to order more rolls, but knew that he shouldn't. I felt the same. I was a bit saddened that my stomach wasn't big enough to eat more sushi. But that only meant we have to come back to try the rest of the menu. I'm already thinking about my next visit :) read more

Decided to give this place a try after seeing some write ups. Got a reservation and went for it. It's small and unsuspecting from the outside, super friendly on the inside. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would, because it's so incredibly good. From the service, to the ambience, to the menu including the food & beverage options. No lie, Yuubi has the best tasting sushi I've ever had and the presentation is beautiful. I love when the food actually tastes as good as it looks. I also love the aesthetic of this tiny little place, with only about 10ish tables and limited bar seating, it gets full quickly but doesn't feel crowded if that makes sense. Ok back to the food. We ordered a lot for our party of 4 but I didn't try everything. I'll just share a few highlights such as the Chicken Karaage which is perfectly portioned and fried, extra crispy outside with great flavor and texture inside. The dipping sauce pairs perfectly & is complimented nicely by a crisp cold Asahi beer. All of the sushi rolls were excellent and so is the nigiri - again everything is beautiful with the taste to match. I really enjoyed the wagyu which was delightful, albeit pricey, but the flavor, texture, presentation, everything was just divine. Woah the fish quality at Yuubi is really top notch for such an unassuming sushi restaurant in downtown Beaverton. I hope they expand their restaurant in the future because they seem to be doing really well. All tables filled up so quickly on a weekday! Most notable things here was the ama ebi deep-fried shrimp head that had extra umami seasoning on top, the crispy rice topping on the hand roll that added some crunchy texture(I like crispy and crunchy things a lot!) and the gorgeous fridge that showcased their dry-aged fish. First time here and I really enjoyed my meal. I came on a Tuesday evening around 7:45 with no reservation and only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. They do close at 8:30 so we definitely ate in a rush but that was our fault for not coming earlier and I do wish they stayed open a bit later but again understandable! The place is very small and intimate but clean and cozy. The service was great, you scan a QR code and order through your phone so very convenient. They are so quick with bringing out your items. Now to the food. We got the 6 piece omakase set and added albacore as well and got an extra order of the tuna. Located hidden on Angel Street in "downtown" Beaverton is without a doubt a very unique sushi experience unlike any other on the West side except for perhaps Toshi's (and he's nearing retirement). Putting price aside for much of my thoughts I'll start with fast, thoughtful attentive service, almost too attentive, more of that in a minute. We sat promptly with a reservation and were greeted by a plate of edamame to start. QR code scanned and off we went with a spider and hamachi roll as well as the sashimi set. from all the photos it was clear their fish source was quite good and my experience was as expected. Quality in my view was top-notch. The spider roll was very uniquely wrapped and sitting on a bed of lettuce. Also, they provided ample soft crab legs on the side. The hamachi roll and sashimi plate also pleased with freshness and those little extras like multiple shiso leaves and chopped green onions for color and flavor. We went back to the portal and got a salmon roll as well as truffle scallops, both were also very good. But with the sheer speed, they came in and almost swooped away my last few pieces of spider roll and salad underneath that I wanted to finish. I had to catch them to please leave it behind and they apologized. Now to the pricing... well if you look at it as you get what you pay for... it passes the test. At the same time we are talking Las Vegas strip level pricing and it simply can't be ignored... it is capable of breaking the bank so-to-speak. So much so this won't be a regular pit stop for me when there are places while not as good is also easily 40%- 50% less potentially. Bravo for such a unique high quality place. But not everyone needs (and can pay for) premium all the time. Lastly make reservations at least 2 weeks in advance for weekends or be prepared to wait an hour during peak time. read more

From the moment I walked up from the street to the entrance of this welcoming, homelike setting, I knew this event would be special. I was the second guest to enter after Yuubi opened just past 4:30 pm, and I immediately sat at the bar so I could take up less space while enjoying off-and-on conversations with the chefs. It was lovely to share a space with talented staff and new guests at the bar, and a new friend even provided me several recommendations. I started by snacking on the abundant Edamame that was provided for every guest. This was a perfect snack to enjoy while ordering, since I knew it would likely be the only non-meat item for me. I ordered a 5-sashimi variety bowl, and I was WOWed. Please see the photo of the large boat with abundant fresh fish. I can safely say that this was some of the best sashimi that I have tasted anywhere outside of Japan. Then, I enjoyed a can of Sake. I dabbled with a few pours, but, since I am mostly alcohol-free, I left most of it in the can. The size was perfect to not be too guilted to leave some not drunk. It was sweet, tangy, and a nice pairing for today's fare. It's rare to mix such amazing fish flavors in the sashimi with Sake, at least from my perspective, so I would confidently celebrate this moment and this experience. The menu is very well-developed, so you can be sure to find a variety of options for your group. There are non-fish options plenty. After dining here, I texted so many friends begging us to return. I can see us dining on the large outdoor patio, which must be absolutely ideal for anyone in spring and summer. As an avid transit user, anyone coming from central Portland with the intention to spend time in Beaverton while dining at Yuubi can remain happy that the MAX is a fast and easy option. The Beaverton Central MAX stop is a mere 5-minute walk from this establishment, and the quaint streets with local businesses and breweries make this a great afternoon experience. How have I not known of this amazing Japanese restaurant on an unassuming street in Beaverton? It is a modular space that resembles a home. It's small but cozy and clean. We were welcomed in. The place was full and the hostess asked if we had a reservation- which we did not. I mentioned to her that we had our mother in the car and couldn't wait for 40 minutes for a table. I left and headed for my car when the waitress ran out and said someone was leaving and a table would be ready in 10 minutes. She was so sweet. We were seated and she took our order quickly. We had Yuubi sushi bookmarked for a while now, because of how impressed we were with the chef's sushi descriptions on Instagram. We could tell he took his craft seriously, from his attention to detail on high quality ingredients (even for the complimentary edamame) to the dry aging techniques used on the fish. Coming from LA we're not in Beaverton often, but got an opportunity this time on our way back from wine country. We got the omakase set, which came with toro, hirame, king salmon, kanpachi, bluefin tuna, and a LOADED handroll with wagyu and tuna. The dry aging technique made a remarkable difference, and the fish had a beautiful, buttery texture that practically melted in our mouths. We added the grandma toro, scallops, spicy tuna roll, and Japanese uni as well. All excellent, with the grandma toro and uni being our personal favs. In fact, the uni was some of the best we've had in a while - super creamy and fresh! We were very impressed with our dine-in experience and highly recommend that you sit at the bar to interact with the chef. Without hesitation, the woman at Yuubi called the other restaurant to get it resolved for me. Then, the sushi chefs whipped up my order in 5 minutes. Every dish we got was absolutely amazing. We tried their truffle salmon nigiri, chutoro nigiri, chicken karaage, code red, dynamite x, scallop haven, garlic albacore sashimi, and hamachi sashimi. I attended as part of a YELP event and am I glad I did! Yuubi Sushi is Beaverton's hidden gem and I cannot wait to go back. This isn't a large restaurant so intimate interior seating but I heard that during the warmer weather they offer outside seating. The staff was excellent super friendly and knowledgeable. I am more of a salmon rather than a tuna person, but their tuna was absolutely amazing. We got their Salmon Special, dried age tuna, caterpillar roll, and much more. Their nigiri and weekly special fish are amazing, and I think it is absolutely worth the price if you really enjoy sushi. They also will take a picture of your party and post it on their wall. Note, they do not take large party because of their limited space, but they are a bit more flexible when their outdoor seatings are open. Probably one of my favorite local sushi places. Food 7/5. After trying countless and disappointing sushi places in the Portland area, Yuubi is the savior of them all. FOOD We got Omakase each and some additional rolls as well. The omakase was phenomenal. It encapsulated few of my favorite fish and each is better than last. Tasting the sea has never been more true than eating a piece on this omakase board. My personal favorite is the scallop sushi towards the end and it just melts in your mouth. We also got the spider rolls as well. The rolls are pretty good, but I think in comparison to the omakase, the spider is more of a filler than taste. Even though it's very good. SERVICE The service is super good. The hostess and waitress were super friendly and nice. They introduced each of the omakase pieces to us as well.
