Relocating in the DMV can be a daunting task. Finding the carry out in your area that cooks your General Tso's chicken how you like it is another thing of its own. The staff at Yum's is super friendly. When your picking up your order they make sure you have the sauces and utensils you need before you leave. The inside is like most Chinese restaurant's nothing over the top. They are right next to my favorite L store too so it's a win win. When I first moved to the Laurel area my first order from here was wings. I figured if they jacked these up there would be no need to go any further. Them damn wings was crispy and hot! On to level 2, which for me is the steak and cheese. I was very specific on what I wanted on my sandwich as well as my wife's. They nailed both! With levels one and 2 getting Aces I was like oh snap let me get the Kung Pow..... Man down, man down it wasn't poppin wasn't a fan, but I didn't give up on them. First and last time. The "fried rice" was yellow rice with only onions in it, no vegetables or egg. My son had the shrimp fried rice, the rice had no flavor, dry and he threw the whole thing away after eating the shrimp, which he stated wasn't too good neither. The food is decent. HOWEVER, if you happen to have any issues with your order, small or large like, your postmates driver getting into a car accident, don't worry, Yums won't do anything about it except transfer you to another employee who is confused about the very obvious question of how to proceed. This isn't the first time we have had an issue with their delivery service and I will not be returning. We've been ordering from Yums for three years now and it's really upsetting that our poor postmates driver gets into a car accident and Yums can't even have the decency to refund us or create another order to replace our order because of something completely beyond control. read more

Food is pretty decent! I usually get chicken wings and fried rice. The fries are really good as well. Not your authentic type of rice but it's still good nonetheless. Yum's Restaurant is THE BEST Chinese food place in Laurel, hands down. I'm never disappointed and I'm sooooo happy that they deliver. The usuals that I rotate are general tso shrimp, shrimp and broccoli, and now shrimp in garlic sauce. I've had other items off the menu as well, triple delight, wonton soup, etc. everything is delish, fresh, well seasoned, and good portion sizes. I order food here about inception twice a week. The food is always hot on delivery and tasty. The menu has a great selection. The hot and sour soup has a nice kick to it when ordering the extra spicy level. I have tried a few of their rice dishes and end up going for the large scallops with broccoli. Got into the store to pick up my order it wasn't ready a person behind me ordered his food and walked to another store after ordering. His order came out before mine. Unfortunately I cannot give a no star review. Ordered food at 6:10pm. It didn't get delivered until 7:59pm. All of the order was not delivered. The person who answered the phone when we called the first time was rude. We were told 15 minutes to delivery when we called at 7:15pm. At 7:30pm when we called the person was rude again and told us they were extremely busy. This 1.5 hous after our hour delivery time. The nice delivery man arrived and we took our food. Only to find out we didn't receive part of our order. When we informed them we had already waited almost 2 hours and we wanted the food we ordered and asked that it be delivered and the person who answered informed us that they would not deliver the missing food, but would refund the price of the missing food. I will not be ordering from this restaurant ever again. I will inform all of my friends to avoid this restaurant. This was my first visit. My friend says this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Laurel. We decided to eat in and catch up. We were seated and seen they had a mini bar. So we ordered beer. I'm not sure if the waitress was used to serving people. But as we were drinking our beer we were constantly asked if we were ready order our food. Finally she told us to let her know when we're ready. As were about half way with our beers we placed our order. Before I could take a few more sips of my beer my chicken and broccoli was here. I live very close to this restaurant and have given it many, many, many chances to be a first pick (given its 3 miles away!)... The food falls short every time! The staff is very friendly, but the food just taste awful. I have had the Egg Foo Young, Noodles, Fried Rice, Stir Fry dishes, Curry dishes, Soups, Appetizers I have tried just about everything on the menu, and they all lack honest Asian flavor. To be specific on Saturday I ordered curry chicken and hot and sour soup, they forgot my rice, which is ok because I always have rice cooked on hand. The soup tasted like water-down soy sauce and the curry chicken tasted salty/spicy and water. I have finally given up on this place. I will go to Panda Express in Laurel or make it myself. read more

We stopped to eat here after playing at climbzone. Their fried rice and lo mein were really really good. Not greasy like most places. Soups come in really big containers! A $3 sized soup can fill 10 small bowls. I ordered the beef with oyster sauce - mostly water chestnuts and bamboo shoots - It wasnt bad, but I wouldnt order it again or any beef dish. The regular takeout menu food is on par with the area for chinese-style takeout, and I give that 3 stars. I usually get a combination platter, and always enjoy the fried rice. The delivery is not the best, but what can you expect when there's not many delivery drivers. The extra star is for their catering. This is practically one of 3 delivery places on Uber Eats/ Eat24 / GrubHub, so I end up choosing it for my chinese fix. Overall, great quality and consistent food! The orange chicken/gen tso's chicken type dishes are great, not too saucy and still relatively crispy, even after being in the plastic containers for a while. The fried rice is not my favorite, but it's still good. I wish there were more bean sprouts or veggies in it. The dumplings/ pot stickers are way too doughy, as some other reviewers have mentioned. I've tried them several times and same problem. I'm not a fan of their veggie spring rolls, which are really really tiny for some reason. The chicken wings are also really good! I ordered a seafood platte (shrimp) which I seen online offers cocktail sauce or tarter sauce. When I arrived to pick up my order and asked for tarter sauce I was charged an extra $.50. When I asked the little girl on the register why you are charging people for tarter sauce if they are getting shrimp she ignored me and I had to repeat myself asking her she knows people use tarter sauce with shrimp she got smart with me saying she didn't know that because SHE doesn't use tarter sauce. It's offered with the meal on the menu so whether you use it or not that comment wasn't needed. Then I asked for ketchup and she gave me two packets having to ask for more which she basically threw at me. Very rude customer service especially when my shrimp was basically soggy. This was the worse Chinese food I ever tasted. It was bad! The fried had some type of spice and way too much in it to give it flavor, it was not done, and had a bunch of raw onions in it. The shrimp lo mien had noodles drenched in soy sauce with 5 small shrimp. I stop here on a regular basis for carry out. If I call in an order or just stop by to place an order I don't have to wait long. The food is delicious! Everything I have tried has been great. The owner and staff are very professional and friendly. I especially like the hot and spicy selections. I love the Kung Pao Chicken and the Hunan Chicken. They will even make any dish spicy for me if I request it. If I am not in the mood for spicy I love their Chicken and Broccoli, Egg Drop Soup and their Vegetable Spring Rolls.
