I finally got the one that is daily up for grans, and I was so excited! My sister and I can't figure out why there's only one bag per day, but it's very coveted so we were excited to see what was actually inside! We walked in to the bakery with the intention of ordering more treats, in addition to what was in the too good to go surprise. When we walked in, it was 10:05, and they closed at 10:30. They had already put away half of their gelato and baked goods in the cabinet. I understand closing time is at 10:30, but if you still have almost half an hour left, I'm sure there are customers that are gonna come in and buy things. There were three parties of people that walked in while we were in there and then sitting out on the really nice patio. There is a little bit of seating inside, but the patio was very nice and there was plenty of seating out there too. The vibe is super cute, and I love the decor. Hopefully next time we go back, we can actually try things because they won't be put away!

I've been in Phoenix since 2014 and in the West Valley for eight years, and I've never knew about…read morethis place until very recently. And it's funny too because I keep asking about delis in the West Valley and I don't think this place has ever come up. But let me tell you, this is what I'm looking for. I didn't want a sub. We have sub shops. We don't have delis. I've wanted something specifically on deli rye bread, and wouldn't you know it that they have that! So I got the number 15 sandwich, which I'll have to edit to remember what the name of it was, but it was to my surprise a triple Decker, and it was probably the best deli sandwich I've had since I've been in Arizona. The capicola had so much flavor. I'd forgotten what flavor was for a minute!! So that's the sandwich: 15 SEDONA'S SPECIAL ham, capicola, salami, prosciutto, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese. On amazing deli rye Wouldn't you know it?! (Legitimate use of the interrobang) they also have frozen tamales!! they also have ready to eat. So I took home a dozen chicken tamales and they're also really well made. I like that I can use my own salsa with it. AND I also got a loaf cake, which I shouldn't have lol. I might become obsessed with this place. On the way out, I was kind of noticing all the things I didn't notice on the way in, like Apple fritters, because really all I wanted was a deli sandwich at the moment.. I will definitely be back. There was a woman sitting there that I can assume maybe the owner or maybe the manager, and she was kind of a crack up. And the lady working the counter was an absolute charm. And speaking of charm, this place is decorated... It's so weirdly placed in this community, with its pinks in retro vibe, maybe I shouldn't say it that way, but you don't see too many pink shops on this side of town!! Address is Grand Avenue, but it's on that old Grand Avenue that now would be considered a side street.

A West Valley Gem Packed with Flavor, Charm, and Plenty to Discover…read more If you've ever driven past that bright pink building on the corner of 101st and Grand Avenue in Sun City and wondered, "What's in there?" let me save you the suspense: it's the New York West Bakery, and it's absolutely worth pulling over for. In fact, I've made the hour-plus drive each way more than a dozen times just to visit. Whenever I find myself anywhere in the West Valley, this place is a mandatory stop. I've taken countless photos of my visits because there is always something new to see, taste, or admire. Under its new ownership, New York West Bakery has evolved into a wonderfully unique fusion-style café. The menu is delightfully unexpected, featuring everything from traditional breakfast favorites and homemade tamales to incredible Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches. If I can dig up some of my photos, I'll add them because these sandwiches deserve their own spotlight. The transformation isn't limited to the menu. The Interior: Spotlessly clean. During one recent visit, I watched an energetic staff member carefully mopping the floors and making sure everything looked perfect. It's obvious they take pride in the place. The Exterior: They've added a charming outdoor patio complete with colorful umbrellas, comfortable seating, and newly planted trees that will provide even more shade as they grow. It's a fantastic addition and makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a pastry and coffee. The Food: Where This Place Really Shines When New York West Bakery gets it right, they absolutely knock it out of the park. Their fruit tarts are hands-down some of the best I've had in years. They're fresh, beautiful, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality you're getting. Best of all, everything is made from scratch, which shows in every bite. The newer savory menu items are also a huge win. Their Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches deliver serious value. They're enormous. Honestly, one sandwich is big enough to share and still leave you feeling satisfied... or at least leave just enough room for dessert. And speaking of dessert, I have to mention those fruit tarts one more time. They're that good. My wife Lucy absolutely loves them. In fact, "love" might be an understatement. If fruit tarts had a fan club, she'd probably be the president. New York West Bakery continues to grow and evolve, and it's exciting to watch. Between the friendly atmosphere, expanding menu, beautiful patio, and from scratch-made baked goods, it's become one of my favorite hidden gems in the Valley.

She got back to me with in an hour or so and had a plan for making them. She was even able to have them made for me within the timeline I needed. Michelle's communication with me was exceptional and I always felt like she sincerely wanted to help me and provide me with a beautiful product. We ordered an eggplant Parmesan sandwich and a chicken Parmesan sandwich. The bread was good. For dessert, I tried a chocolate cannoli, which unfortunately wasn't to my taste, and a wedding cookie, which was light and fluffy but just okay. I also bought several other cookies, but most of them had a flavor that reminded me of the glass display case they were stored in. the cookies just didn't taste very good to me. I also ordered an iced latte, and the total for everything came to about $30, which I thought was a good value considering we had two sandwiches, desserts, and a drink.

I wanted to address it when I was in the store this past week, but when it feels like an unapproachable environment it makes it a little uneasy. Well this is my second time eating something from the bakery and I was hoping I just had a one off experience. I did pick up a too good to go from the bakery a couple months back and it was 2 cake cups and decorate your own cookie - both of the 2 cake cups made me sick, I know things for TGTG can be close to date so that's what I thought - both items were very buttery, and tasted like the sugar was forgotten. I tried to call the bakery 3 times and wasn't able to get through to anyone. I decided to back and give something else a try.. I will say both times I haven't experienced a friendly bakery, lots of people little acknowledgement - even further this time after the baker helped me get my item, the baker then had someone check her out to buy something, idk just odd(ik it's allowed but it was just weird) after that she rang me up - so I did have the same experience taste wise, lacking flavor and I no notes of sweetness(I don't even have a sweet tooth lol) I'm not sure if this is just 2 off experiences or what, but I just wanted to leave this review here.
