Best wonton and egg drop soup. The egg drop soup is not full of corn starch. Full of egg and flavorful. Go to Spages to pick up your RX, then go to Yumm for soup. You will feel better the next day. read more

I just visited a family member close by and was getting a little hungry. A quick Yelp search bought me to this place. Ordered the standard chicken and broccoli with white rice and a wonton soup (lunch special). Very pleasantly surprised with how good it was. They accommodated my request to only use a small amount of oil and sauce in the dish. The woman behind the counter was juggling around a hundred things at once and was fast and friendly. I ordered online but didn't realize you get charged a little more because it's through a third party. Had I known, I would've just gone to the restaurant and ordered. There are seats inside but no tables, so you can wait for your food but you're going to have to take it to go. Overall, a pleasant meal and when I'm in the area again, I certainly wouldn't mind returning. read more

Great local Chinese food. Right near the train station on Lake Ave. My go to when I'm in need a tasty meal. Love the General Tso's Chicken! The family that runs the restaurant are the nicest too! Highly recommend this place. read more

I had such a craving today for cold noodles with sesame sauce... searched Yelp and came across Yummy Kitchen. This dish was AMAZING! Just enough spice, peanut buttery flavor and sesame sauce. For the incredible taste and great price (only $6!) this dish will definitely have me back. Also, they have stellar COVID protocol with a little door for money/food exchange, like at the bank. Much appreciated. read more

Yummy Kitchen - Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce. Yummy! - Chinese Near Me - Saint James, New York

I don't like giving bad reviews, but this food just wasn't very good at all. We decided to come here because our usual location is closed on Monday's. Well, my father decided he knew this establishment from years ago, like 30 years ago and let's just say he got it wrong. The pics I took look good but, everything just lacked homemade quality taste. Almost as if the sauces came from a jar. The sesame shrimp was all batter, like a sweet and sour batter but not nearly as good or crispy. Everything was soggy and really no good flavor at all. My Mother got the egg drop soup and she couldn't eat it because there was too much starch in it. They need to go to their other local competitors and try their food to see what good American Chinese tastes like. read more

The best wanton soup I have ever had!! Best Chinese food in St. James/Smithtown. They also make everything very wuickly

very cute place with a friendly atmosphere. I ordered a mixed vegetables lunch with garlic sauce instead of brown sauce and a wonton soup that came with 3 wontons in broth. Friend ordered the Kung Pao chicken special with fried rice and substituted the soup for a soda. the lady behind the counter was really nice and lunch specials were totally worth the price. it was a great deal and I'll definitely be back!! read more

Ordered for pickup through doordash. Prices are amazing and portions are huge! Food was excellent and the staff was very nice. They have a giant partition between the kitchen and the entrance. They speak to you through a speaker and exchange food through a box with two doors! Cannot overstate how highly I recommend this place. Thank you yummy kitchen, I will order many more times. read more

Came here since my area is really lacking some decent Chinese takeout. Drove the food 20 minutes home, and it was still hot. Food was very good and came out quickly. Thanks! read more

I ordered from here a couple of years ago and remembered liking the food so ordered again last night. Something has drastically changed. All of the food had no taste. Literally none. Ordered some basics like chicken with broccoli and lo mein and pork fried rice. Not sure what's happened but will not be ordering from here again. read more

Amazing! The steamed dumplings are the best and are traditional to what you find overseas. The almond cookies are delicious and are cents for three. read more

After seeing 4.5 stars I have been wanting to try this Chinese take out. I should have paid attention to the bad comments and noticed good reviews were from 3 years ago. We ordered chicken chow mein, spare ribs, & egg rolls. All 3 were lacking taste. Spare ribs and egg rolls were very dry. Chicken chow mein was tasteless even the fried noodles had no flavor. We won't be going back.Egg Roll read more

Very clean take out with a few tables inside. Food is well prepared standard Chinese take out. Their Singapore Mei Fun is quite good. Try the house special soup, it is very filling. It has pork, shrimp, chicken, book choy, broccoli, baby corn and is ver fresh tasting. The ubiquitous chicken and broccoli is good for lunch. Also they have a healthy eating menu where you can have your dish steamed with sauce on the side. Located across from King Kullen. read more

This is a tiny, family-run, hole in the wall type of place right in St. James on Lake street (across from the King Kullen) and you will be extremely happy with the quality of food they are producing. We were here for a week-long visit with family on Long Island and always look for small, quaint places to try out during our visits. We try to steer clear of all the chain-type eateries during our out of state travel and so far, we have fared well! I am going to include pictures of their menu because I couldn't find one online and it will be helpful to those of you looking for a certain dish, but I will tell you right now they do everything very well. You won't be disappointed. Our daughter in law is from Hong Kong and we've traveled there to meet her family, all I can say is "This food is good and authentic!" Not many places you can say that about. It rivals even the really good Chinese places in Los Angeles and that is saying something. We tried the boneless spare rib dinner special - comes with an expertly fried egg roll and pork fried rice. Also the sweet and sour pork dinner special and the duck noodle soup. We got one of the soft noodle plates with chicken for our picky five year old granddaughter and she inhaled an impressive amount of it right before our very eyes! Counter help is courteous and fast AND knowledgeable about the menu items. Looked like a girl doing her homework at one of the small tables inside and maybe an older teenaged brother manning the phones. Either way, we were impressed and highly recommend this place if you are looking for some really good Chinese fare at prices that won't kill your budget. They were open till 9:00 pm on a Sunday and that was nice as well, not sure if those are their regular hours or holiday hours but we were super happy about them being open later. Around here lots of places close early on weekends. Try it, you won't be sorry!! read more

Family owned, member of the community. Very good food. I'm here at least once a week.

The best take-out Chinese food on Long Island. Food is fresh. Veggies are fresh. Rice is cooked perfect. Most important - GREAT FLAVOR.

Cannot say enough - fresh fresh fresh!!! Very friendly and kind! Thank you yummy for being a great neighbor!

Simply put... great takeout. I'm just upset I don't live nearby anymore. I used to live around the corner from another place and would always choose to go a little further to go to Yummy Kitchen. Gonna stop by tonight for the first time in maybe a year. Definitely excited. read more

I am a very positive person, so I hate to leave such a negative review, but the other reviews on yelp don't seem to be talking about the same establishment. I had lunch at Yummy recently, and I think it was possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I threw much of it away and choked down what I could. I had the kung pao chicken with wonton soup. The kung pao was almost completely bland. No exaggeration, like old chicken and almost no seasoning. Lots of celery though, seemed to act as filler. The rice was cold. The wonton "soup" was wonton soaking in tap water that tasted mildly soapy. Seriously, I'm not a snob and I am not a negative person - this is genuinely what I experienced. The service was fine: prompt and efficient. The food was simply terrible. read more

Yummy Kitchen has the best Chinese food! Everything they prepare is fresh and delicious. Due to Covid-19, they have recently re-opened for pick up orders. They have installed a plexiglass divider to protect the customer and everything is immaculate! So glad that my favorite Chinese restaurant is open! read more

I was sad to drive by Yummy and see their sign that they will be closed for an indefinite period, I assume due to the COVID situation. I hope this wasn't due to any harassment. That would be terrible and ignorant. I hope they open again soon. They have been part of the community for years providing delicious Chinese food. Come back soon!! read more

Very quick service, and they give you so much food for what you pay for. The Lunch and Dinner combos are the best! Just make sure you order it within the time frame for the best deal. I enjoy going here for Chinese takeout, I have never eaten there though read more

Yum!!! is all I can say. Ever since we've moved here we have ordered from them once a week. Come hungry.

Ordered sesame chicken here from door dash and it tasted so old. Will not get again. My friend liked her lo mein though. Food just didn't look or taste fresh. read more

Personally, I think that the food here is one of the BEST in St. James! The staff are very helpful and kind, and it's delivered fast and hot. If you ever go there, you should come hungry! read more

St James' best Chinese takeout. Consistently great food. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Food delivery quick and and delivered hot.

The lunch specials are set at such a reasonable price and they give you a feast. Most everything I have had there has been delicious, but the hot & sour soup stands above as a must. The ho fun must also be tried, just make sure to ask for the home made hot mustard. Service is quick and polite, but it's definitely not a sit down place. read more
