I just visited a family member close by and was getting a little hungry. A quick Yelp search bought me to this place. Ordered the standard chicken and broccoli with white rice and a wonton soup (lunch special). Very pleasantly surprised with how good it was. They accommodated my request to only use a small amount of oil and sauce in the dish. The woman behind the counter was juggling around a hundred things at once and was fast and friendly. I ordered online but didn't realize you get charged a little more because it's through a third party. Had I known, I would've just gone to the restaurant and ordered. There are seats inside but no tables, so you can wait for your food but you're going to have to take it to go. I don't like giving bad reviews, but this food just wasn't very good at all. We decided to come here because our usual location is closed on Monday's. Well, my father decided he knew this establishment from years ago, like 30 years ago and let's just say he got it wrong. The pics I took look good but, everything just lacked homemade quality taste. Almost as if the sauces came from a jar. The sesame shrimp was all batter, like a sweet and sour batter but not nearly as good or crispy. Everything was soggy and really no good flavor at all. My Mother got the egg drop soup and she couldn't eat it because there was too much starch in it. They need to go to their other local competitors and try their food to see what good American Chinese tastes like. read more

very cute place with a friendly atmosphere. I ordered a mixed vegetables lunch with garlic sauce instead of brown sauce and a wonton soup that came with 3 wontons in broth. Friend ordered the Kung Pao chicken special with fried rice and substituted the soup for a soda. the lady behind the counter was really nice and lunch specials were totally worth the price. it was a great deal and I'll definitely be back!! read more

Ordered for pickup through doordash. Prices are amazing and portions are huge! Food was excellent and the staff was very nice. They have a giant partition between the kitchen and the entrance. They speak to you through a speaker and exchange food through a box with two doors! Cannot overstate how highly I recommend this place. This is a tiny, family-run, hole in the wall type of place right in St. James on Lake street (across from the King Kullen) and you will be extremely happy with the quality of food they are producing. We were here for a week-long visit with family on Long Island and always look for small, quaint places to try out during our visits. We try to steer clear of all the chain-type eateries during our out of state travel and so far, we have fared well! I am going to include pictures of their menu because I couldn't find one online and it will be helpful to those of you looking for a certain dish, but I will tell you right now they do everything very well. You won't be disappointed. Our daughter in law is from Hong Kong and we've traveled there to meet her family, all I can say is "This food is good and authentic!" Not many places you can say that about. It rivals even the really good Chinese places in Los Angeles and that is saying something. We tried the boneless spare rib dinner special - comes with an expertly fried egg roll and pork fried rice. Also the sweet and sour pork dinner special and the duck noodle soup. We got one of the soft noodle plates with chicken for our picky five year old granddaughter and she inhaled an impressive amount of it right before our very eyes! Counter help is courteous and fast AND knowledgeable about the menu items. Looked like a girl doing her homework at one of the small tables inside and maybe an older teenaged brother manning the phones. Either way, we were impressed and highly recommend this place if you are looking for some really good Chinese fare at prices that won't kill your budget. They were open till 9:00 pm on a Sunday and that was nice as well, not sure if those are their regular hours or holiday hours but we were super happy about them being open later. It has pork, shrimp, chicken, book choy, broccoli, baby corn and is ver fresh tasting. The ubiquitous chicken and broccoli is good for lunch. I am a very positive person, so I hate to leave such a negative review, but the other reviews on yelp don't seem to be talking about the same establishment. I had lunch at Yummy recently, and I think it was possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I threw much of it away and choked down what I could. I had the kung pao chicken with wonton soup. The kung pao was almost completely bland. No exaggeration, like old chicken and almost no seasoning. Lots of celery though, seemed to act as filler. The rice was cold. The wonton "soup" was wonton soaking in tap water that tasted mildly soapy. Seriously, I'm not a snob and I am not a negative person - this is genuinely what I experienced. The lunch specials are set at such a reasonable price and they give you a feast. Most everything I have had there has been delicious, but the hot & sour soup stands above as a must.
