He put in more freon in the meantime so my house will have air conditioning until they can repair it. I will definitely use Richmond's Air again in the future, but for now, hopefully this leak repair will last me for a few years before having to call for service again. He also explained the ductwork and why the construction would be as extensive as planned. Our ducts are original to our 1970s house, and there are all kinds of holes that are beyond repair. Between the time we scheduled our unit install and the actual date (8 days from now ), Madd Air has handled any issues we've had to ensure we are comfortable. Our unit ran out of coolant and needed to be charged, and Justin added enough to hold us over. They are less interested in providing value to customers than pushing their sales. A company needs jobs to be profitable, but this is something else entirely.

While the technician was professional, the estimate they gave was outrageous. The technician said I needed a new evaporator coil. If you look online, you'd be hard-pressed to find one for more than $1,000. He mentioned it would take two technicians and six hours to complete the job. Even if we assume the technicians charge $100 per hour (which is a stretch), that brings the labor cost to $1,200, and the total so far to $2,200. Let's add a 50% markup for the company, which brings the total to $3,300. That's still high, but they quoted me $4,980! Obviously, I shopped around and found a much more reasonable estimate--nearly 50% less from a reputable company. The bad business practice here is charging nearly $100 for the diagnostic, knowing the estimate was outrageous. You could literally build a business around giving inflated estimates with the sole intention of collecting diagnostic fees.

Calling the phone number is a joke because they never answer and want to have text conversations instead. By the time the repairs were completed, it had been a full two weeks of this house not having any AC. Have you ever had to sit in a hot house for two weeks without AC? I hope not. Things that bothered me about your service: 1. Why do you list a phone number on the website and no one ever answers the phone? They only respond to you via text. To me that screams, "we do not want to be bothered with talking to you" 2. If there were issues with your systems communicating with the home warranty company, the right thing to do would have been to explain that issue to me. I only heard about this issue from the AHS representative. 3. Do you actually have a "management team" that addresses customer concerns? No one ever reached out to me even when I specifically asked someone to call me. 4. Why do you not have a process for the person responding via text to obtain real time information that can be communicated to the customer? Every response was I don't have visibility to that, I will escalate, I have noted , etc. 5. If parts needed to be ordered, why wasn't that information shared with me as the customer in order to manage expectations and establish a realistic timeline for repairs.
