It was a nice day today, well the sun was shining, it was however quite nippy, even still my honey and I decided to venture out. We ran a few errands and hunger kicked in, ramen sounded delightful and we had just crossed 82nd and Meridian when I looked up "ramen" here on Yelp. Yelp said "girlfriend I got you, turn back around, it's a spot right on 94th and Meridian that has just what ya need." I did a quick check of the menu and photos of course, 3 minutes later we were there. We had for appetizers, fried Chicken which came with a dipping sauce along with gyoza, now unfortunately you can only get pork or veggie Gyoza nothing in between. I don't eat pork but chicken or shrimp would have been spot on, not an option. I enjoyed the fried chicken bites, they were tasty with the dipping sauce. The gyoza was a little flimsy, few were even torn. Definitely needed to crisp up a little more. I had spicy ramen, either I had to settle for the chicken and pork broth or just vegetable, again I don't eat pork so I had to go with vegetable, you also can only have pork or tofu in that spicy ramen you can remove the two and have no protein but you certainly can't add anything else to it. I received a big bowl of ramen which was good, not great. Truthfully a Top Ramen seasoning packet would have helped, or a little chicken bouillon cube. The spice level wasn't intimidating at all. There was plenty of noodles in there, the bowl was deep, I'm sure I took half home. My baby love ordered a chicken bowl, pretty sure the chicken in it was the same as chicken from the appetizer, with a little spicy drizzle. It came with corn, purple onion, green onions and nori over rice, with some type of a spicy sauce. Served cold, I think it's supposed to be that way though. Of course 3/4 of the bowl was filled with rice but my honey enjoyed it nonetheless. A nice quick hot date. Staff was helpful with my questions which is always lovely. YES YES AND YES!! Me and my daughters first time trying a ramen restaurant and we were veryyy pleased!! I did my research on ramen of Indy, this and another just so happened to be the only few open on MLK Day!! The flavor of the broth was SO AMAZING, the noodles were perfectly cooked, flavor was bomb. I'm always a hesitant 5-star review kind of gal...truthfully, you've gotta really provide something really good in my book to warrant 5 stars. Ramen, you say? Well I was thinking that same thing as I walked in and perused the menu. You order at the counter and are given a number...your food is freshly prepared and delivered to your table when ready. Now I'm not a ramen snob by any means but really haven't had anything locally that wowed me as much as Yujo's. As a vegetarian, this can also limit my choices (yes, I know the chashu is amazing, but it's all good...consider that more for you)! However, I've gotta say that this vegetable sapporo is like magic in a bowl! It was presented like a dish off Food Network with a thin slice of tofu and seaweed as garnish. The ramen noodles, broth, vegetables and soft boiled egg I chose to add melded perfectly together. The only suggestion I'd ask for is some chili oil or something a bit more spicy than peppery ramen seasoning available. I have been there 5 times since trying it out in mid-November 2022. I mostly had the spicy ramen which is fabulous. Just the right level of spiciness (noticeable but not overwhelming). I went in for a solo lunch since I was in the area and knew I had wanted to try this ramen spot. First impression was that it worked like a noodles and co, order and sit and wait for your food. I wasn't sure how the quality would be given this first impression. Well I tell you it blew me out of the water when they put that bowl down at my seat. It looked amazing and smelled delicious. It was very hot which I appreciated too on a cold day. I got the black garlic ramen and it was very delicious, I definitely recommend it. I wish I lived closer because I would go way more often! I also got the oolong bubble tea which was also really tasty. The atmosphere is bright with light wood and feels good. A great addition to the Carmel/ Northern Indy food scene- Yujo lives up to the hype! I've been waiting for this spot to open since the restaurant was announced early summer, so I was thrilled to see it finally opened. A group of us went around 7pm. It wasn't too busy but there were a few families eating. You order your food at the cashier first and then find a seat and wait for them to bring you your order. I ordered the Tokyo Classic ramen, dumplings, and fried chicken. The broth was tasty, but not spicy at all. I am used to ramen having a little bit of spice. Additionally, the pork was kinda dry. The noodles were perfectly cooked though. The dumplings were fantastic, and very reasonably priced. The fried chicken had good flavor but was on the drier end. It was very crispy, almost as if it were over cooked. Even though the food wasn't phenomenal, I think this visit was worth 4 stars because I'm super excited for this spot to grow and refine over time. It's got a nice casual but modern interior with good vibes all around. I'm excited to return and try some of the other types of ramen. I didn't try any of the teas even though they have lots of milk and non milk options. My main complaint regarding the tea is that they do not offer them in non-disposable cups. Next time I go, I will bring my own reusable cup and ask if they can put one of their boba teas in there. Stay tuned. read more

I was excited to learn about the new Asian restaurant near my job. I went during my lunch hour and was delighted! I ordered and was given two numbers. One for my boba and one for my food. My drink came out 3 or 4 minutes later which is quick for a boba tea place. A few minutes after that my food arrived. I had the black garlic ramen and if you like ramen you are going to love Yujo. Perfect noodles, savory broth, the most beautiful soft boiled egg I've seen! The fried chicken had a light coating and was moist. It was also dark meat which I am a fan of. It also came with lemon and a tangy dipping sauce. Delicious! The oolong beverage wasn't as flavorful as I'd hope but it was my first time trying oolong so it might just be what it taste like. "Ehh" is how I would accurately capture my experience here. As other reviewers mentioned, the ramen was heavy on the noodles and skimpy on the toppings (and even then, the amount of noodles were just adequate). Both my husband's and my eggs in our ramen were disappointingly served cold. I live a bit closer to Kizuki off of 146th Street, where you get slightly more bang for your buck. Moreover, based on my experience, it's about the same duration of time despite being a sit down establishment (assuming there's no wait). That said, I really like Yujo's concept, menu options, and ambiance. I do hope it sticks around as it offers something different in the 96th Street/Meridian area. I didn't have the bubble tea, but I am very curious to return and try it out. Otherwise, if you're simply here to get your ramen fill, I would venture the extra 7 minute drive north and go to Kizuki instead. read more

If you are in the mood for soup then this place is a good option. My only little complaint is the lack of protein in the soups. The 2 soups I have tried I got 1/2 a hard boiled egg and thin slice of meat. That's it for the price. The portions are good sized for what you are paying, but it's mostly broth based and noodles. So if you want or require more protein then this is not the place for you unless you want to pay for additional food/ options. The flavors are great from the soups that I have tried. Nestled inside a strip center on Indy's Northside, Yujo is worth making the trip from Downtown for a delicious bowl of tasty ramen. Hard to believe there are great ramen in Indy ! ESP when there is only one ramen spot near downtown! So off we go and take half an hour drive for some slurp slurp goodness. I love Yuzu ! I've been following this business for a while on Instagram, patiently waiting for their opening day. I've been twice for bubble tea. The first time I got the Brown Sugar Genmaicha and was given a tea with no brown sugar syrup. The woman at the counter asked the woman who was making the tea if it was the correct tea as she handed to me. I didnt want to wait for another to be made or waste the one I was given. All that being said I have yet to try the food but I might wait until they're a little more organized. I did enjoy the tea, despite not getting the correct thing. Very good ramen shop. The broth was creamy and tasty, while the noodles had a pleasant, chewy texture. But the best part was the egg. I don't understand how it's done, but they are super creamy and has a perfect soy sauce flavor to it. I didn't expect this, but their boba tea is the best I've tried. Now that the newness has worn off on this place, things are just OK. I have ramen places I like better and are more consistent and prices align better with the quality of the food. Usually the broths are good and the fixings add a nice touch to the ramen. This time the ramen was undercooked, and the egg was cold and looked old. I ordered hot tea and was served in a wax cup which did not help with the other things that were off from the normal. My husband and I split an order of the black garlic Ramen. It was topped with an egg that was soft boiled and delicious. It also came with a piece of pork that my husband said was tender but salty. We found the broth to be rich and full of black garlic flavor but unfortunately it was SO salty that we couldn't eat much of it. Over half the soup was left and we were splitting it.
