The food is always top notch here. We also like the ambience of the restaurant versus our other options in Sumter. The service is always very good but tonight we had exceptional service by a lovely waitress named Cecilia. She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We couldn't ask for a better server.

The waitress was kind and personable. She was training a new waitress who was also kind but not as knowledgeable about the menu. The food came out and there was a confusion about the "chicken" tamale I ordered. Come to find out they only have pork tamales (which is not indicated on the menu). Food was bland, salsa was bland and just tomatoes. Over all good service, but taste of food needs a lot of improvement.

The place was excellent! Speedy seating and speedy service. As I've said in past reviews I travel a lot, I also eat at some terrible places and have had some places just go above all the rest. Not real big on fast food so I try places I haven't been before. And I have to tell you, this place stands out! Food was great and there was a lot of it on my plate. Our server was zipping all over the place and was always stopping by and asking us if everything was ok and stayed on top of the drinks. I didn't have to wait for anything. I would indeed recommend this place, come hungry because the portions are huge and the prices are right. We spent $36 for two people and it was worth every penny.

Special Lunch #14. Burrito and Enchilada. Ehhhh, mediocre at best.

I'm came here because the reviews were so good. The food, however, was not so good. Now I'm not a history expert but I'm pretty sure that when Marco Polo came back from his travels to the far east, word of the spices he brought back eventually made its way to Spain before Hernán Cortés made his way to present day Mexico. In fact I'm sure of it because I love Mexican food for the wonderful flavors and the spices they use in their cooking. I'm not sure that Yucatan is aware of the fabulous variety of spices that can make your food taste oh so good. Seriously, it was some of the blandest Mexican food I've ever tasted. To be fair though, this is another one of those places that Americanize Mexican food. It drives me crazy. When I go to a Mexican restaurant, I want Mexican food. Not a version someone thinks will satisfy my American palate. Don't get me wrong, I love American food but I came here for Mexican food. Sorry Yucatan, but the food was subpar.

Great food and service. My favorite with the Chori Pollo. But the A little of everything is a great hit. And Great Jumbo Margaritas.

Angel's Mexican Restaurant - Chicken fajitas Loco

Angel's Mexican Restaurant

We are still working on our Mexican food tour of middle South Carolina. Right now it's a two way…read moretie and still need more places to test. Food here is pretty good and while the salsa is kid rated, you can spice it up pretty easy by adding hot sauce to it. Dinners are enjoyable, service was good and polite. This property is showing its age to be sure, I know it's been open here like this for at least 17 years, Still I recommend a stop for whatever American Mexican meal you like.

"Chicken Fajitas with a Side of Fumigation...??"…read more About a week ago, my family and I visited Angel's Mexican Restaurant after a failed attempt to dine at Red Lobster for a family member's birthday celebration. While I had a taste for some Cheddar Biscuits and Salmon, a family reunion and an extended 2 hour wait, relocated our party a few miles down the street to Angels. " The Scene" As with all Mexican restaurants, the restaurant resembled the establishments I frequent in Texas. The walls were adorned with Sombreros and vibrant colors and flags accented the decor. Unfortunately, upon entry, since my nose works perfectly, the unmistakable smell of a restaurant that had been recently fumigated assaulted me. I asked my party if their noses relayed the same thing and we all agreed that the smell was unmistakable. Sadly, the party continued to move forward so I decided to be of good cheer and enjoy the birthday celebration. "The Meal" Normally if I smell RAID in a restaurant entrance, I will do an "About Face" and March out the way I came, but alas it wasn't my birthday. As I type this review, I see that another Yelper has confirmed my suspicions about the smell, by verifying the presence of "vermin" during their recent stay. Even with the horrid smell, I decided to give the establishment a "3" as I didn't witness any... and our waitress was phenomenal. I have worked in the food industry as a youth and understand the importance of fumigation, just not remaining as thick in the air during dining hours, that I could cut the smell with a knife. Our party ordered 1. An appetizer of chicken wings and fries, (delicious) 2. An order of a white cheese hamburger dip 3. An order of a cheese Blanco dip 4. An extremely (DRY) white chicken meat burrito with cheese 5. Chicken tortilla soup (salty) 6. A kid's chicken quesadilla with Spanish rice 7. A Tilapia fajita with shrimp and scallops and a 2-plate special with a stuffed Chile Relleno. For dessert the party decided on chocolate filled churros that were actually light and fluffy. From what I gathered, the participants involved graciously ate and enjoyed their meal, while withholding comments about the horrific smell. All in all, the time catching up at the establishment was nice, but the smell made me nauseous. I couldn't enjoy my meal, and since I was on vacation with several places to eat at in Texas, I didn't want to make a scene. Unfortunately for me, a second visit will probably not be in the future. Da Islandgal29412 Ms. Foodie. I applaud management for trying to control their "vermin" issue, but please close the restaurant the day of and after, I literally was nauseous by the time we made it home...

The wings are absolutely phenomenal. They're perfectly cooked with a great variety of flavors to choose from. The pizza is outstanding with that delicious thin crust that hits the spot every time. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but those wings and pizzas are must-tries! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming with a great local vibe. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long day, catch up with friends, or enjoy some quality bar food and cold craft beer. They offer an impressive beer selection, featuring over 75 different domestic and craft options. One of the things I really appreciate is that it's a smoke-free bar, which makes for a much more comfortable environment. The prices are very fair, and the service is always professional and attentive. Whether you're a local or just passing through Sumter, Main Street Tavern is definitely worth a visit. I am sure it is clean, but they have gross old couches in the front area and it always smells a little bit like a restroom. Good place to grab a drink or two after dinner.
