If made a mistake like us to come down via US 1 from Raleigh to Columbia this might be one of the first places after passing through all the wilderness to have a nice meal. This is solid and reliable Mexican restaurant (felt like a local chain in this area and there were multiple locations). The food is great and menu is expansive as typical Mexican restaurant menu is. If you guys are skipping the carnitas in favor of a burrito.... you need to go back and do a double take. I love getting these for dinner as I always have lunch the next day leftovers. This place is terrible and by far the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. I have been here 4 times and each time I tried something new. Each time it is disappointing!!! My food never comes out hot, it is usually lukewarm. The steak and chicken is always dry and tough! The only good thing about this place is the rice. The most popular Mexican restaurant in town. My favorite item is their Chori Pollo. Also, the Chori dip is very good.

The service was not bad. We had to wait a while for a table I guess due to social distancing they were skipping a booth, but clients and some of the employees are not required to wear a mask. I ordered the parrillada thinking it was the same as the one in The restaurant with the same name and owner in Elgin, but I was different, no carnitas, it was still good though. The chips and salsa were really good. The spicy sauce was great. Overall, not bad, but in my opinion the one In Elgin is a little better. read more

Everyone who lives in Lugoff comes here! I can't believe there are only 12 reviews! Closed on Monday Staff is quick, friendly, and always greets us at the door. We have been coming here for many years and they are always spot on with service and food every time. A few of the family go to dishes: On the rocks or frozen margarita Strawberry daiquiri Sweet tea One cheese dip per couple Thick and chunky Guacamole Children's cheese burger Vegetable fajita with beans, side salad San Jose especial- steak with special cheese sauce, (anything with their cheese is awesome) Beef nacho- cheese sauce again yummy! Tapatio- It's like a pork burrito and it has CHEESE SAUSE! "It's the same every time." Over all it's your typical Mexican restaurant. I would give this a five star rating but that is reserved for the exceptional. I am quite stingy with my stars, so a four is excellent. We eat there at least twice a month. The food is excellent, the service is good, and I feel you get your money's worth. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, they were terrific. I wish I would have taken a picture of the sides, but didn't. I recommend going before 6pm or after 8pm on the weekends. It gets super busy. They have a nice beverage selection as well. read more

I wasn't overly impressed. The place could use a thorough cleaning. What I did like, the beef tacos were good. The queso was good. The staff were timely and polite. The menu is reasonably priced. Unfortunately the beans were over cooked and the chips were brownish as though they had been sitting under a heater or burnt. The ribeye steak (steak ranchero) was more fat than meat. The rice had a burnt taste as well. I'm in Lugoff visiting family but would not revisit this restaurant during my next trip. read more

4 of us went to this restaurant today. After being seated, the waiter took our order. When the food arrived it was wrong for 2 of us and even the to go order. When we asked for the waiter to fix our food, he rolled his eyes, and took back the food to get it fixed correctly. A second waiter came to ensure the food was corrected. We stopped this second waiter one more time and with his back to us and face turned half-way around he rolled his eyes and sighed heavily when we told him what we needed. This is the best San Jose I've ever been to. We go every Friday night. The waitstaff is always welcoming and so friendly. This place is clean and the food is amazing. The portions are bigger and the food taste better than any other San Jose around this area. The beer is always cheap too. We're here Sunday about 1 o'clock after about a 20 minute wait to get in and found it to be good again. Table of seven we were all taken care of in a timely fashion service was good.
