    Carne Asada.

This is hands down the best Mexican food in Sumter. Being from Texas we have very high standards on Mexican food and while it isn't Tex-mex... it's still very good. The food is always reliable and it's always cooked very well. The staff is friendly and helpful and the prices are affordable for a large family like ours. Better than mariachis, Yucatán, las palmas, and definitely better than El Paso. Give their carne asada a try and their birria!

Street Tacos are A-mazing. My boy Drew needs a LARGE RAISE! I love the music and seated immediately.

WARNING read fully! I will NEVER go back there again this was my 2nd visit here. 1st time food was fresh I had hopes for a new fresh tasting mexican in sumter WRONG!. This time the steak was very bad either spoiled or maybe even recycled as it was tiny tiny little chopped up pieces and some larger normal looking fajita steak strips pieces. We were a party of 4 and me and another person ordered steak and both orders were old spolied yuk! They redid order and was normal looking fajita steak strips and u could tell was fresher but still didn't taste that good as the 1st time I visited. I do believe they may be recycling the chips why else is there a tub of chips on bottom of dirty dish cart near the dirty floor and beside the bathrooms?! The chips we got were stale not very crispy im thinking there the recycled ones from the tub!? If the chips are recycled the steak may also have been recycled as it was old or spoiled and chopped up like chunky canned cat food. Seems very suspicious since once they redid order it looked like it should. . The waiter didnt know menu period or how to take the order without out looking at menu to write down what we wanted lol and got order wrong as they could barely speak english. They offered no discount on food just offered to redo it ,Go to margaritas and skip this one.

I've ordered food on three different occasions. First time I ordered the chile relleno. I got a slither of a chile. Beans were good meat had flavor so I let it go thinking they just opened and they are finding their groove. Second time I ordered a beef burrito. No flavor, just meat inside a tortilla. The side salad was on the side but where are the peppers onions, seasoning? I wasn't going to give them another try until I saw they had menudo. Then comes to today's lunch. Menudo with very little meat, more bone, with no flavor, no hominy, and all juice. I paid 14.00 for juice basically. Chile quilles were bland and the speedy Gonzales lunch was bland. Meat had no flavor, the two table spoons of meat were bland dry and just the grease for flavor. The enchilada had very little sauce so it was super dry. Beans were good, chips were good. Thank you for trying but it will be a pass for me in the future.

The food is pretty good and the service is great! The ceviche is always delicious and the birria tacos and pizza are a hit.

Unpretentious, good food (needed salt), healthy portions, good prices. We were happy. No liquor license at this time (May 2024).

Terrible service, and terrible food. I've eaten Mexican all over the US, and this is some of the worst I have ever had.

Food here is pretty good and while the salsa is kid rated, you can spice it up pretty easy by adding hot sauce to it. Dinners are enjoyable, service was good and polite. This property is showing its age to be sure, I know it's been open here like this for at least 17 years, Still I recommend a stop for whatever American Mexican meal you like.

"Chicken Fajitas with a Side of Fumigation...??"…read more About a week ago, my family and I visited Angel's Mexican Restaurant after a failed attempt to dine at Red Lobster for a family member's birthday celebration. While I had a taste for some Cheddar Biscuits and Salmon, a family reunion and an extended 2 hour wait, relocated our party a few miles down the street to Angels. " The Scene" As with all Mexican restaurants, the restaurant resembled the establishments I frequent in Texas. The walls were adorned with Sombreros and vibrant colors and flags accented the decor. Unfortunately, upon entry, since my nose works perfectly, the unmistakable smell of a restaurant that had been recently fumigated assaulted me. I asked my party if their noses relayed the same thing and we all agreed that the smell was unmistakable. Sadly, the party continued to move forward so I decided to be of good cheer and enjoy the birthday celebration. "The Meal" Normally if I smell RAID in a restaurant entrance, I will do an "About Face" and March out the way I came, but alas it wasn't my birthday. As I type this review, I see that another Yelper has confirmed my suspicions about the smell, by verifying the presence of "vermin" during their recent stay. Even with the horrid smell, I decided to give the establishment a "3" as I didn't witness any... and our waitress was phenomenal. I have worked in the food industry as a youth and understand the importance of fumigation, just not remaining as thick in the air during dining hours, that I could cut the smell with a knife. Our party ordered 1. An appetizer of chicken wings and fries, (delicious) 2. An order of a white cheese hamburger dip 3. An order of a cheese Blanco dip 4. An extremely (DRY) white chicken meat burrito with cheese 5. Chicken tortilla soup (salty) 6. A kid's chicken quesadilla with Spanish rice 7. A Tilapia fajita with shrimp and scallops and a 2-plate special with a stuffed Chile Relleno. For dessert the party decided on chocolate filled churros that were actually light and fluffy. From what I gathered, the participants involved graciously ate and enjoyed their meal, while withholding comments about the horrific smell. All in all, the time catching up at the establishment was nice, but the smell made me nauseous. I couldn't enjoy my meal, and since I was on vacation with several places to eat at in Texas, I didn't want to make a scene. Unfortunately for me, a second visit will probably not be in the future. Da Islandgal29412 Ms. Foodie. I applaud management for trying to control their "vermin" issue, but please close the restaurant the day of and after, I literally was nauseous by the time we made it home...

The bartenders are incredibly friendly and possess the perfect blend of professionalism and personality that makes the whole experience memorable. The food here is fantastic! The wings are absolutely phenomenal. They're perfectly cooked with a great variety of flavors to choose from. The pizza is outstanding with that delicious thin crust that hits the spot every time. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but those wings and pizzas are must-tries! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming with a great local vibe. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long day, catch up with friends, or enjoy some quality bar food and cold craft beer. They offer an impressive beer selection, featuring over 75 different domestic and craft options. One of the things I really appreciate is that it's a smoke-free bar, which makes for a much more comfortable environment. The prices are very fair, and the service is always professional and attentive. Whether you're a local or just passing through Sumter, Main Street Tavern is definitely worth a visit. On the weekends it is moderately crowded with people playing pool and the games the have in bar. Truth or Dare Jenga is always fun. :) The only issue I have with the bar is the perceived cleanliness level. I am sure it is clean, but they have gross old couches in the front area and it always smells a little bit like a restroom. Good place to grab a drink or two after dinner.
