I ordered uber eats for the teriyaki chicken hibachi with rice and veggies. First of all the food was super fresh, they definitely put a lot of thought and care into the order. The fast service was amazing. The packaging was super secure and protected and kept the food hot, all sauces and everything ordered was correct and nothing missing. The flavour was out of this world. We will be permanent customers for sure! read more

Ginza Japanese Grill - The take order for uber eats We ordered teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies. - Sushi Bars Near Me - Sumter, South Carolina

All I have had from here has been delicious, but they need to work on their ambience in a BIG way. Just never feels super clean. I would eat here more if they took more pride in the restaurant itself. read more

The BEST place in Sumter, SC to get sushi! They have constantly served me with the same exact food that has always been a "custom order" item for me. As far as the restaurant goes, I've never eaten there, as I always get it to go! But with that being said, from the looks of it, it seems to be clean. Hope this review helps!!! read more

Stopped here for a late lunch one day while touring a home in Sumter - it was very quiet at 3pm on a Monday, very enjoyable lol. The restaurant was clean, food was hot and delicious, and the employees were very nice. Would definitely be one of my go to spots I've I lived in the area. read more

I went here on a whim for lunch right as they opened. I walked in and the young lady behind the counter was leaning against the counter knee deep into her cellphone and didn't see me at all. She didn't look up and come over to the register until a guy from the back room came out and said "welcome". While browsing the menu, she dove right back into that phone... the conversation must have been everything to her lol. There wasn't any other customers in the place. It did look like it was very clean. Anyhow I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box. The only things I enjoyed was the shumai and the veggies under the chicken. The rice and chicken seemed over cooked and not flavorful at all. The California roll didn't taste like much of anything either. Overall I give the food a 4, living on the west coast... their Asian food spoiled me. Chicken: 4 Rice: 4 California roll: 3 Veggies: 5 Shumai: 6 read more

Place is really really get run down! Everything seems to be just a little dirty and sticky. The bathrooms are especially bad. No paper towels at all and faucet was broken. In addition their prices went up 40-50 percent. I understand prices increases but wow! The food was to go and hopefully tastes good. Last time I ate here it was delivered and while still pretty pricey I thought it tasted really good. High prices and dirty restaurant gets two stars deducted. read more

Food: Food was just okay. I think in the astounding town of Sumter South Carolina, this sushi restaurant met my expectations. The miso soup had a faint taste of swamp, reminding where I'm currently dining. The sushi was slightly warm, like the chefs held it in their hands for a couple minutes before giving it to me. Overall, on my Miso soup connoisseur-ing adventure, the restaurant ranks the lowest. Service: I'm pretty sure the waitress forgot we were here. Ambiance: The loud rap music really reminded me of my years in Okinawa. read more

First time trying this. Lady at the front answered all my questions. It looks like it a sit down and takeout place. I was takeout but the two people behind just when and sat down. And they took their order at the table. It interior was super clean and gave off a good vibe. The food was in great portions. I got ramen noddles and a chicken place. Great portions and was really good. Would recommend to anybody. read more

Overall it's a pretty decent spot. I've eaten here plenty of times, about twice a month. I usually get one of the hibachi plates but I have tried a few other items on the menu. Service is straight forward and they are pretty quick in cooking your meal. They do get a lot of take out orders. Definitely one of the better Asian food spots in Sumter. read more

Very tasty food. It was delicious. It's high quality sushi and my husband and I never skip out on a good roll so with tip it was $70 bucks and it was worth every penny. There were definitely much cheaper alternatives too and great meal combos. Will definitely be back :) read more

This place is by far the worse Japanese restaurant I have ever been. The sushi they serve is already over priced and to make things worse, the price on the menu is incorrect; when they bring you the bill is more. The rolls that claim to have crab, is actually imitation crabmeat. The eel, is just eel sauce. There are no prices for the drinks on the menu and they are also overpriced once you pay. Total joke of a place. A half excuse for a Sushi restaurant. The one star is for the service. read more

This is my favorite spot for sushi in Sumter!!! I have been twice and each time have been so happy. I always get the rangoons and today tried two new items. The jalapeño sashimi was amazing! I've had this in Japan and didn't realize this is a normal dish. They are sliced thicker than I'm used to but that was a pleasant surprise. And I will definitely be also ordering the avacado bomb again!!! If you want good sushi in town this is the place! read more

Ginza has good food (and great white sauce!) but they could stand to hire better "servers." There has got to be better help out there. If you dine in, expect to ask for everything (or just go grab it) yourself...plates, silverware, a bottle opener for your beer, soda refills, etc. Tonight I questioned whether the young lady even had a pulse. Food is too expensive for such "service." read more

So good! Fast service, clean and reasonably priced. We have been twice in 1 week. Definitely recommend the sumter roll.

Fantastic service by Kobe Best salmon sashimi that we have had in a long time This is not a place to go looking for atmosphere which is why I only gave it four stars However the service was impeccable the food was delicious and it's definitely worth the time to stop in and have some great food read more

Granddaughters' 11th birthday and she wants sushi! Kind of impromptu surprise birthday dinner on a Sunday night. 25-30 adults and kids. The kitchen was hopping! They took care of all of us, plus the take-out orders, other customers and delivery pick ups! Everyone was well served, the entire staff had smiles on their masked faces and the owner came over to make sure all was well and the birthday girl was happy. Excellent food! Excellent service! Service was not the best. Food was ok but not worth the hype, you mostly get a plate full of veggies with your hibachi. Overpriced. Also, "fried" rice was just white rice doused in soy sauce(no veggies/eggs), tasted like microwaved/prepackaged rice. read more

I went based on the Yelp reviews, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations! The staff was very friendly and even offered a military discount which we weren't expecting. Service was very quick, we waited maybe 5 minutes for our food. My husband ordered a Donburi Rice Bowl with steak, and I ordered an Udon Bowl with steak. Both were delicious with very generous "starch" portions, but the protein portion seemed a bit small which was disappointing since I wanted to enjoy more of it. We're eagerly planning to go back. I'm looking forward to trying the hibachi chicken next, and my husband is looking forward to trying the fried rice! read more

DONT GO HERE ANYMORE!!!! Ok we've going to this restaurant for several years now. But now its gone down hill so much in the last year. We went in after church to dine in. We were they're first customers they said. Well it didn't look like it. It was nasty, tables weren't wiped off, food on the floor etc. I went to the bathroom because I just couldn't hold it anymore. It was omg disgusting. No toilet paper, lock was broken, floor was wet stuff on the walls. It was just ugh! (Thanks goodness I'm a mom and I keep cleaning stuff in my purse) The waitress was slow, didn't refill our drinks, and never got our orders right but we did make her clean our area!  So I read the menu and I ordered the sumo roll. On the menu it had no cucumbers mentioned on it. I got it and looked really good but it had cucumbers on it. I said ma'am it has the is wrong could you please fix it. She took it and spoke to the manager/sushi maker. He came to me and said this roll has cucumber on it I have been making it for many years. I said that doesn't say that on the menu. We fought over this stinking roll for about 10 mins. Im like really? He never fixed it, never gave our money back NOTHING!!!! He constantly talked over me while I was talking. Im like FINE! Another issue my son (kids plate) didn't want carrots in his shrimp hibachi. Well she didn't listen and put them on there. Didn't fix it she basically ignored us. I told my son just take them.off. On my hibachi plate I wanted only onions and zucchini. Well again she didn't listen she didn't give me any vegetables. So I said ok since we're having issues ill take a side order of veggies since you didn't give me any! I even asked her will that cost extra she said no. Well quess what it was on the ticket and we had to pay for it. The manager was rude, spoke loudly, didn't help in any way. Today was a special day and we use to absolutely loved this restaurant our family and friends go there a great deal. But not anymore!  Hell will freeze over before I go there again. Also this isn't the first time but I've had enough so this is why I'm writing. I've had enough of the rudeness, nastiness & wrong orders from them. But the whole thing is that the people knew us were good people we don't complain. I've been a waitress and I know its hard work but we were the only people there almost half the time we were there. So no excuses. I don't know what has happened  it it has changed some how. I hope that it will get to the way it was cause it was some really good food with the best sushi in town! read more

Another great dinner last night at Ginza !!! We absolutely love how fresh everything is. The steak is tender. The miso soup is phenomenal with ample amounts of tofu. All the I have had is absolutely incredible. It is definitely our new go to in Sumter. Now they offer delivery and with a code (on their page) you can get 15% off. Sumter is grateful to have such an incredible Japanese Grill in a great location. Also, Kinsley is incredibly sweet !!! Top notch service !!! We love GINZA !!! The service is hit or miss. Kitchen staff is polite, servers are a little lackluster in how often they check on you and offer any additional items/refills. Food and service is really good. Best to visit during lunch time, as they have great lunch deals. The bundles specials (2 entrees + roll, or three rolls ) is awesome as well. The only complaint I have is that some of the tables are imbalanced or sticky. Possibly investing in clear tablecloths could help the sticky substance getting stuck to the actual table.
