Debbie is really talented at what she does. Unfortunately for me, my bridal consultant at Bellasposa Bridal scared me into buying a wedding gown that was way too large for me. I'm talking a few full sizes to large. I was so disappointed when I got it, because what should have been a fitted mermaid dress looked like a trash bag had been draped over me. They then wanted to charge me a $50 "consultation fee" to even determine if the dress could be altered enough to fit me. I decided to search elsewhere, and did a consultation with the Debbie after seeing her reviews on Yelp. She was very friendly, and felt confident that she could fix my dress. My dress was an extremely difficult fix. It was covered in lace, sequins, detailed beading, and had an open back. Debbie had to bring up the straps, take the entire dress apart twice to take it in, and hem it. I was little worried towards the end was it still feeling very loose. The dress had built in cups that were still too big. Debbie ended up taking the straps up once more, taking the sides of the top in again, and tightening the inner corset. Finally, she made an impossible dress fit. Debbie also did all my bridesmaids dresses; hemming, taking in, and adding straps to one. She even created a shawl for my mother in laws dress, as she did not want her chest showing. Debbie is very reasonably priced, patient, and incredibly talented. I am way late in posting this but I wanted to say that Debbie was an absolute dream to work with for my wedding. I bought a dress from David's and as anyone who has bought a wedding dress knows, you have to basically order a tent-sized dress and have it fitted to your body. My dress was a trumpet-style with an intricate woven bodice and then layers and layers of fine mesh tulle-like fabric creating a feathered-bottom look. Love it. Debbie made me love it more. The fittings are done at her home and she makes you feel so comfortable and beautiful. I told her my concerns (scared of the top/boob muffin top, don't want to be pulling it up all night, maybe want to add straps, etc.) and she was a pro. The dress was originally a zipper back but after the second fitting, it became clear that I wanted Debbie's signature corset back. Wisest decision ever. That dress fit me like a glove- no muffin top, no twisting and I did not adjust my dress once all day and night (and I have natural D cups). Amazing! (Now I wish I could turn back the clock and have her alter my prom dresses!) I had three fittings and I went in about 6 months before my destination wedding in Hawaii. I know that Debbie is known for a quick turnaround, but I wanted to take my time with it. Each time I came, we made adjustments (corset back, then she sewed on my jeweled sash, bustled it like a pro, etc). A couple weeks before the wedding it was done and steamed (even my long veil!) for a STEAL OF A PRICE! I would have paid triple what I paid had I gone to the tailors at David's. Also, way before the wedding my dad and brother bought their suits. My dad gained weight and his pants were not even close to closing. Debbie made magic happen (plus my mom forced my dad to walk some of it off!) and I am happy to report that not only did no buttons or seams split when he danced- the pants actually looked tailored and nice. She also let out his jacket like a pro. My brother's need to be let out and hemmed (thanks craft beer :)) and again, Debbie nailed it. If you want personalized and professional work done, nobody is better than Debbie. And she is more than affordable!!! For my next event, I will definitely hire her. As soon as I called Debbie for help and advice, she put my mind at ease! Originally, my moms friend was going to help create and alter my red dress for my Halloween wedding. That plan fell through and I had to create a Plan B. In June/July, I first called Debbie to ask for a quick average price quote on altering a red dress I had bought online and shipped from China. She said I have plenty of time to get my dress looking the way I need it to and to call later in the end of summer for an appointment. She also gave me a very good and accommodating price quote that put my mind at ease. During the first fitting of my dress with Debbie, I felt nervous because I thought a lot of work needed to be done, but Debbie assured me that the best news is that at least the dress fit me! I gave her the run down of what I envisioned my plain, red, mermaid dress to look like so it could be transformed to the wedding dress I dreamed of. Immediately she understood and gave additional feedback of what would look awesome. Fitting #2, I can see the difference and I can begin feeling like this dress was made for me! Extra layers of fabric were removed and the hem was adjusted to fit my height (I'm 5'2"). Fitting #3, she made me a mini veil made out of my dress! I can't quite sit so some relief cuts that connect the top to the mermaid bottom of the dress need adjusting. She also made some custom off-shoulder sleeves :) Finial fitting, I feel like a bride now! The dress fits perfectly, the adjustments, hem, and of course the veil were perfect!
