This is a great little sushi place in downtown Willoughby. One perk is that they have a parking lot around back, which is helpful since spots can sometimes be limited. The food itself is good quality. Unlike most sushi places there is no option to just pick a roll or 2 and get a ginger dressing salad and miso soup. This means that it costs a bit more to eat here and while the food is good, the tab will be a bit higher than it should be for what you get. They do have a drink menu, but I've yet to be impressed by any of their cocktails. The service is usually pleasant. The waitstaff is prompt about checking on you and getting refills where needed. Overall, this place is a solid 4. I have been many times and will continue to go back when I get the hankering for some pricey sushi. read more

The service was great - the two Korean women were nice and came and asked if I needed anything. The house salad with ginger dressing was good. The wasabi was good. The pickled ginger, however, tasted old. Unfortunately, the sushi rice was overly soft, under-seasoned (should have rice vinegar, sugar and salt - I couldn't taste any of these), and - sorry to say - all of the rolls tasted just like *the smell of a pet store.* I don't know why. My friend had told me about this sushi restaurant in Willoughby that is a complete hole in the wall. Her words "You will not find better sushi on the east side of Cleveland then Young's". We went for a girls night and she was not wrong. This place may not have a ton of room or the best decor, but when you just want delicious sushi, then this is your place. We have been back so many times since and my friend actually goes twice a week. We cannot help it but it tastes so fresh and you can see them making it as well! I go there once/week for take out and get the chicken teriyaki, and every time I substitute the salad for a miso soup. The new location is great! It's much closer to the main drag of downtown Willoughby, and probably three times the size of their old restaurant. Young's has an extensive menu of both sushi and non sushi options (teriyaki dinners, udon, pork katsu, bulgogi, Korean-style wings). The service is friendly, and our food was delicious. There's also a small parking lot in the back that can fit about seven cars, and it looks like they'll have space to set up an outdoor patio in the summer. Young's is definitely worth a visit if you're craving yummy sushi in NE Ohio. read more

I was in the area chasing some steel and since they weren't biting, I decided to grab a bite to eat. I'm not at all familiar with the area and was craving some uni so I searched and I saw uni on the menu to my surprise. High ratings and uni? Can't go wrong, or shouldn't.... The place is definitely a hole in the wall and not "upscale" like most other. This doesn't really matter to me, but it does to some so heads up. All that I care about is good food. Offerings are standard fare. I order 2 sweet shrimp, 2 uni, and 2 scallop. When my order gets turned in, I hear the owner yelling "no sea urchin"! Oh btw, it's called sea urchin and not uni on the menu if you're wondering. I'm guessing it's to cater to the demographic. Well, I can honestly say I was expecting the "no sea urchin" when I ordered it, but I gotta try anyways. I then sub yellow tail for it. Food comes and it looks decent. No shrimp heads with the sweet shrimp though. Bummer. I got everything sashimi btw and not nigiri even though I didn't specify as I forgot. Scallops were sliced up pretty thinly. The wasabi was FIRE though and that's a good thing. It wasn't the watered down weak stuff. I arrived at 2 in the afternoon, which is early for most places and the place was dead. I'm not sure if it had any affect on my order or not, but my yellow tail was still frozen when I received it. Bite into and you can feel it's still lightly frozen. The pieces were actually stuck together as I got to them even though they were sliced. I don't know anything about the area, but this sushi place is nothing to brag about or worth the drive if you're coming from afar. read more
