Young's Lodi Ace Hardware is one of those places you go in for one simple thing and somehow walk out with way more than you planned. I went in just to make copies of keys, because they're honestly the best place in town for that. The gentleman who helped me was really helpful, personable, and easy to talk to. Quick, easy, and done right. Of course, I never leave with just keys. This Ace always gets me. The pies are amazing, the candy stash is dangerous, and the gardening gloves deserve a shoutout. The value and selection are worth it. They have the best glove variety, especially if you have smaller hands, which is not easy to find. I always grab the cinnamon bears, and somehow they instantly stick to my hips the minute I walk out the door. Worth it every time. I also love their rewards program. The discounts add up, and it's always a nice little surprise at checkout. And yes, I love their wall of shame. It cracks me up every time. If you steal from them, you might end up on the wall. Simple solution: don't steal. It's not okay, and I respect a local business that looks out for itself and its employees. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, the store is packed with useful and fun finds, and it still feels like a true neighborhood hardware store. Complaint against Ace Hardware in Lodi, not honoring DeWalt's "30 day return policy. I purchased the DeWalt Yard Kit, which included a weed eater, blower, and hedge trimmer on Sunday, March 22, at 3:22 pm. Nick help us and he pointed to the De Walt items that were included in the kit. We said OK. Nick handed us the Hedge trimmer from the glass case without a box, instructions, and walked us to the register to order the other two items since they were not in the store and needed to be ordered. He then told us we could take the hedge trimmer and they would call us Tuesday 3/24. My friend picked them up Tuesday and after using the equipment to check out how they worked, he called me and said that we were going to return them because they would not cut nor did it have sufficient power, and he told me that De Walt items were not the ones shown to us when purchased. Wednesday morning about 7:30 am I tried to return the DeWalt yard kit. I walked in with the equipment, box, and receipt. The gal, which, I did not get her name, stated that she'd have to call the manager Tanner, to inform him that I was seeking a refund. Tanner, whom that morning was working in the Lockeford Ace Hardware store. She let him know that it was not packed up in the original box and she stated to him that it looked used. I told her we had pick it up on Tuesday and we tested the equipment. She then told me that Tanner specifically said that she could not accept the items for return because they had to be back in the original packaging. I said OK and left to repack the items into the box, all but the hedge trimmer which they gave to us without a box. She also stated that the return was going to need the manager's approval. Then she offered me dates when the manager would be back in Lodi, I said no, I will go to the Lockeford Ace store with the understanding that he was there working for the day. I left to repack the items back into the original box. When finished packing up the equipment I drove out to the Lockeford Ace store and spoke to Rindy. She left saying she would get the manager Tanner. She came back saying he was on vacation, and that he had already received a call from the Lodi Store. I said yes, and we packaged it up as he stated and drove here to speak to him. Rindy said he was now on vacation and he'd be back Monday at the Lodi store. I stated he was supposed to be here working that is why I am here with the packaged-up yard kit. She looked at my receipt and said that oh the hedge trimmer came out of the glass case with no box then it is all on the Lodi Store to take back for return. My Friend called to see how the return went. I explained to him that they did not return it for refund. They would not accept it because it was not in the original box. My Friend told me to send him a picture of the receipt, that he'd try to get the refund. My friend addressed Nick point blank, why did you not tell us that this was not a refundable item, Nick replied with "you did not ask me". They still would not refund me back my money telling me now. "it is not in resellable condition". Do not spend your hard-earned money at Ace hardware in Lodi! They do not guarantee their merchandise, not even with your receipt! read more

Was having some difficulty with my edger/trimmer, was suggested l let Ace look at it. Polite, pleasant young man looked at it, tried a few things, 10 minutes later l was walking out with a working trimmer, no charge! Amazing!! My new hardware store! read more

This is by far the best Hardware/Home Improvement store in the area. The employees here are always friendly and helpful and seem to have a lot of knowledge. They also have a lot of people working so you hardly ever have to wait to be helped. I love that you can get small single items for projects here without having to buy big packages of extra things you don't need. For a small store, they have a really good selection. The prices are a bit higher here and the selection of larger items for projects (like wood) is very limited but the convenience and ease of use of the store more than make up for that. This will continue to be the first place I go whenever I need something for a project. read more

This year I started a large scale project that I have been working on for months and months. I am not a carpenter or electrician or any type of craftsman so it has been a long process and I have learned a lot. Early on in the project, I had a long day ahead of me and realized shortly after I had started for the day that I had purchased the wrong size screw and needed new ones ASAP. ACE is much closer to my house than Lowes or Home Depot, so I ran over thinking it would be better to pay a little more for the product and save time so I could get back to work. I had assumed that things would cost more and there would be less options at a smaller store...I ASSumed. I was wrong. From the first time I entered this store, I felt welcomed. The staff is always available and always inquire as to whether or not there is anything they can assist me with. Also, when I'm not sure what I need, there is always a friendly KNOWLEDGABLE, employee nearby to help me. They have made a lot of recommendations that have been helpful, especially for someone who has very little experience and that is honestly priceless. The store has had everything that I have needed and at reasonable prices as well. It is smaller, but still has a great selection. I really like that I can buy just what I need, like 26 screws instead of being forced to buy a box of 200 at a larger store. They have paint, tools, really everything you could need and this location is very well lit and organized so it's super easy to navigate. Parking is also a major plus; If I'm not in the first row near the store, I can always find a place in the second as opposed to parking 1/4 mile away from a large store in their giant lot and having to walk through their warehouse and then have to wait for long periods or go find someone to try and assist me. I'm really kinda glad I bought the wrong screws because has been and will be my go to store from now on. read more

And their tool section is very impressive especially when it comes to my brand, Milwaukee. And the help and guidance I get in this store is unmatched by HD and Lowes. read more

When visiting Lodi California it would be worthwhile to shop the ACE hardware store. I've shopped ACE for years...even before John Madden discovered it. It's not a huge store but it has nearly everything including very helpful floor help. And a store Manager (Tanner) who goes over and beyond to make your visit very pleasant. He has helped me with very small items and a couple of large items. He sold me a STIHL chainsaw and a 24kw emergency GENERAC generator, and I'm very comfortable with his personal / knowledgeable service and durable products. I'll be back! read more

Last summer I bought a secondary home in Lodi and while getting things up to my standards spent a lot of time coming to this Ace location. Every time all the employees are super nice an helpful. They also have a great Traeger selection as well and while I don't have all my Traeger stuff at this residence it's always great to geek out on a total passion of mine while I am here...plus they have a great bbq selection with great brands as well. I was standing there shopping for a smoke alarm and an Ace worker came up with a customer and stood right in front of me. Acted like I was not even there. I said something, no comment from them. Then again, no response. I said I guess because he is a man and i'm a women they can push me out if the way, still no response. I spend a lot of money in this store and was planning on doing that again today. I walked out without getting the supplies I needed. I'll go to Home Depot or Lowes since Ace has a preference of who they serve. read more
