I have known of TAP Plastics since the early 1970s. Recently I needed a custom circle made from their ChemCast EdgeLit acrylic. This was not available from the standard website ordering system. Customer service rep Vanny, from their Stockton CA location, contacted me quickly by email to confirm what I wanted. In a short time my order was being processed. I ordered a total of four pieces of acrylic, one was custom, and they all arrived faster that expected. The pieces are very professionally cut and have their polished edges as requested. Vanny Chin is so incredible! Several of us had difficult orders that required lots of math on her part to figure out how we could each save money. She went through so many renditions as we changed the orders MULTIPLE times. She even combined our orders where it made sense to save us even more money. Each time she was so patient and pleasant and encouraged us to make as many changes are we wanted to insure our satisfaction. When our orders were finally placed she emailed us right away to let us know the orders were ready for pick up. I am blown away by Vanny and appreciate her so much! "Bespoke", a 2sq ft piece of 3/8" abs black plastic? Hmmm. I found the piece on Amazon for $29, you quoted $45. There is nothing bespoke about the piece unless your cutting machine is bespoke. read more

WOW!! Talk about GREAT customer service! I went to Tap Plastics in Stockton to have a step made for my little dog. They suggested a non-slip material and without my asking had all the edges ground so they would be smooth and not scratch my dog or my floor. Earlier this year, I swung by Tap Plastic location in Stockton, as I needed a new pair my for my picture frames in my house. The associate manning name KENNETH SY the store was super friendly and offered to help after noticing that I was unsure of what to buy. He took the time to find out what I needed and what my preferences were, and then he walked me through the different brands they had. He then hand-picked out couple frames that best fit the shape for my picture frames, and he even compare different products to show me the price differences. It was a great experience and I appreciated the employee's sincere effort. read more

Jerry Estes, at TAP plastics in Stockton was our fabricator . We had searched long and hard for a solution to our broken top on our circular patio table. Most other places said, "buy a new one", "we don't do that", or some other disinterested response Jerry was willing to discuss options with us, to make recommendations and suggestions and most importantly to welcome us down to the store to discuss further and to even prepare the new top for us. To make this even more valuable, he was even willing to discuss using some large plastic sheets we had and he'd just help us with the fabrication. So on a Saturday afternoon we arrived with 4 large sheets of plastic. Jerry remembered the discussion From several weeks before, and immediately set to, laying out the job description, adjusted our Measurements a little to ensure a great fit. Less than 2 hours later while we had lunch in mid-town, Jerry called us to say our tops were ready. Now we are proud owners of a new top (and we have 2 spare halves as well). Wow.. they look (and fit) great, with measurements accurate down to 1/16 inch! Did I say that while we were in the store Jerry showed us the new resin the store has to make "river top" tables? Even showed us a couple of images of one he'd made.. If you have a plastic related project in mind, I cannot recommend Jerry and Stockton TAP plastics too highly.. read more

Problem: Replace wood pull-out cutting board with one made out of plastic for longer durability. Dimensions: 19 7/8" Wide x 23 5/8" Deep x 3/4" High, with Pullout of 20 7/8 Wide x 7/8" Deep x 3/4" High custom made of Plastic or Wood. After forty years of my mom chopping, cutting, pounding, kneading, and whatever a cutting board takes in punishment over that time... it's time to replace the nasty looking thing. Didn't want glass, as I heard from others that glass will dull your knife faster. The only material remaining was plastic or polyethylene, FDA approved of course. Tap Plastics price - minus pullout handle - without FDA certification - $90. With some research on the Internet - found ( www.cuttingboardcompany.com ) - price for the same dimensions also without pullout handle, but certified by FDA as safe - $54. And, they'll round the board edges for you (in the event you don't want to use your cutting board as a weapon)... at no additional charge! Over the years I've dealt with this store several times with small projects, never something this important to me. So when I went in to see Melissa with a cardboard sample of what I wanted my Indian motorcycle windshield look like, she assured me that I wasn't asking for something that hadn't been done before. She listened patiently and then expertly deciphered what I was trying to convey so that the guys in back understood. I've spent thousands at this store, and would probably spend thousands more. In 20 years they've never made a mistake, until today. They cut my material short, no big deal, but they didn't have replacement material. Still no big deal, cut me another small piece, I'll glue it to the bottom and I'm still ok, until the actually charged me for the glue that I needed to fix their mistake. Only $13, but very poor judgemnet. I'll not go back until I've spent the next thousand dollars somewhere else. read more

I am a huge fan of this store. I've been there 3 times now expecting to place my order and come back, only to be told it would be completed while I wait. I replaced all of the walls to a snow cone machine, all parts fit perfect and looks great. I had 30 pieces cut for signs, and they were ready in about 10 minutes. Well I needed a piece of 1/4" obscured polycarbonate and decided to call Tap Plastic since is close to my work. I was told I was getting a discount because they only had 1 piece left and that piece would cover what I needed. I was quoted $225.00. Feeling like it was a high price I decided to call around and Interstate Plastic quoted me $75 less at $151.84 and that's including shipping for the same size piece and material. This is one of those secret and undiscovered places of Stockton. You can have these people construct pretty much anything if they don't have it on their shelves. Some of the things they have on their shelves are the same organizing items you'd find at Bed Bath and Beyond.... for a fraction of the cost. Today the young red headed girl and young short haired guy were very uneducated in the bulk pricing of their products. We called ahead before driving an hour to get bulk pricing. When we got there the clerks said there wasn't a bulk price and whoever we spoke to was wrong. My husband told them that he felt like he was getting the run around. Finally they went and got a manager who confirmed we were correct. No apology from the clerks in fact they were quiet and quite rude even though my husband was friendly and stated he was glad they cleared that up. The red head girl wouldn't even respond or wish us a good day or say thank you for the $500+ we had just dropped. I've met one other clerk before who was a guy with long hair and he was very friendly, maybe they should consider having him train the rest of the staff on customer service. I lost all respect for this business based on my interactions with the store manager. He was extremely unprofessional and downright rude. As the manager, I think that this individual should have represented the brand with a little more integrity than what he did. A miscommunication had been made based on shipment of an item, and rather than accept responsibility for the miscommunication, the manager outright rejected any responsibility (although they were ultimately at fault in this circumstance). The manager argued with me repeatedly - despite physical evidence of TAP Plastics' fault in the matter. Furthermore, once I informed him that I would likely not use their services again, he became even more unprofessional and rude. Future customers - if you have requirements beyond going to the store to leave with your product, stay away. read more

My sister recently had cataract surgery and needed to replace only one lens of her glasses. We were quoted prices from $60-$100 at glasses places, just for a blank lens!! I had recently dealt with TAP Plastics in Fremont and thought of calling them. We found TAP Plastics in Stockton and stopped by. The young man that helped us that day was very very helpful! He even tried numerous ways to get the lens out of the glasses so they could trace the shape. They gave us a price of $20 for 2 different lenses, including labor! Wow were we thrilled! We went back the next day to pick up the lenses and Jerry brought out them, saying he had never made something like this before. He was super helpful in making sure they fit perfectly, even remaking one of them in a thinner plastic at no extra charge!!
