Dishonest assessment of repair needed, overpriced quote of $5400, never received a copy of what I signed on an iPad, fear tactics used, high pressure to commit, was told I needed to replace water and sewer line, they were new PVC and replaced less than 3 years before when I bought my house-confirmed by another plumber, I paid a $2000 deposit on 4/18. Called several times to confirm what I was receiving because the quoted price was to replace both lines and I never received the quote, was sent to an AI bot, received a text back on 4/20 promising a full refund of my deposit. On that same day I called another plumber, he came out and fixed the cracked pipe at the meter box, exactly where the city water department employee said the crack was. Young plumbing said the pipe was not cracked there, that the leak was farther up the line and I need to replace the entire line. I will post the video of the leak on my facebook page and on all local group pages since I cannot attach it here. As of 5/29 I still have not received a refund. Young Plumbing cashed and kept my entire $2000 check, promised a refund, promised a replacement refund check, and now are not responding to my requests for my refund. I have filed a formal complaint with the South Carolina department of consumer affairs. An honest plumber came out on 4/20 and repaired the cracked pipe that was exactly where young plumbers said it wasn't. It took a couple hours, and I paid $225 total for the repair. A tree root had put pressure on the pipe and caused it to crack. The honest plumber saved me $5175. read more

It pays to take time to shop around. After we exchanged a hot water heater under warranty at Lowe's we were charged $1024 by Young's Plumbing to connect the new hot water heater. We were given a loyal customer discount but after 11/2 hours labor the bill was still $900. The technician did a good job and was very polite but when we discussed the charge with the owner she said "that's the cost of doing business" Lowe's would have had a contractor install for the be below quote. I had a slow bathtub drain, they made me pay $90 upfront, tech was very nice and communicated well so I paid another $500 but it didn't work. So the tech left telling me that the office would get me a quote to fix the problem and they could do the job within a week. The office emailed me a quote for $500 which I accepted but they never scheduled the job. After a week when I called in to complain the office manager was rude and I even spoke to the owner who was very pompous and refused to finish the job. So, I had a leak develop from several variables related to Helene. I called them to make the appointment and was told the service charge would be applied towards whatever service they did. These guys came in an diagnosed the problem as my disposal. They tried to charge me twice as much as the going rate to fix it and blamed me when I got upset. My disposal is one of the new continuous feed one and had backed up and burst a pipe during the storm. I had to persuade them to put on a shutoff on that pipe and they flatly refused to fix the problem while they were here. They still charged me extra for the service call and refused to itemize the bill. It makes me wonder if all these good reviews are from friends and family because they were no where near 5 star to me...which is very wrong. And then they respond by blaming the customer. Today i discovered they knowingly damaged my crawl space and didnt tell me about it, let alone fix it. This is in NO WAY a 5 star company. read more
