Yoshinoya Covina has revamped and remodeled this location. It is modernized and cleanly. This location is the closest Yoshinoya for us to visit. We frequent coming every few months because the app deals are very good and hugely affordable. The service and experience here are mostly positive for us the times we come in. We've ordered via the app and this location gets our orders done correctly. We also use the drive thru from time to time. The staff works efficiently and the drive thru moves quick. Our go to items usually the Beef Bowls or Plates. I've been a fan of Yoshinoya since I was a kid and the food always hits the spot! Yoshinoya Covina is our favorite location. ( ^_^)b

Good food, great service, good prices, clean and fully stocked restaurant and good and efficient service at the drive-thru window.

Been before for my 3rd visit- today ( updating info per owners request) March 30th 2025 around 7pm. We order the promotions of two salmon bowls and a mango tea. . Food was great. Cashier with color eyes perfect service. Yet, I didn't pay to hear the African American aking like a "teenager" yellinng ", stupid " " weird, " and "girls" to their 4 male workers working the line. Aa she saud they had " 4 cars in the driver thru. I guess we needed to hear her issues. I didn't understand if she was in charge or when the lead person can step in and correct her loud mouth, unprofessional attacks on other...I wanted to ask for my refund but decided give 5 stars to the cashier for being positive and with great attitude making sure my experience along with the other customers waiting in the lobbym We were waiting for our food amin hopes that Someone woukd go into the kitchen and correct that girl. Having a lazy crew or not active co worker does not give you the right to call them "stupid" " weird" and make the customers aware of your problems. Hope the owner resolves this ASAP retrain staff and have someone in command to give this girl a proper way to handed lack of involvement or send her home.

It's gotten much better. I realize that staffing and finding good employees is not easy but I appreciate that Yoshinoya is still here and that it is maintained.

After more than 20 years, I decided to try Yoshinoya again, but I needed a little time to review the menu since I wasn't sure what I wanted. The options were simple, but I still found myself undecided. William was incredibly patient and didn't rush me, which I really appreciated. He even made a great recommendation--the shrimp tempura--which I ended up choosing. His friendly and helpful attitude made my experience much smoother and more enjoyable. The only disappointment was that my order was missing napkins, which would have been helpful. Aside from that small oversight, the service from William was excellent, and I truly appreciated his assistance!

Just want to apologize for this 1 star at this location. Love the color scheme and interiors that seemed to be Yoshinoya's new look. We had to get lunch on the way to Los Angeles Airport so we stopped here. When we entered ... there were 2 gentlemen standing away from the counter and had asked them if they were in line ... they replied "no" , I forwarded then to the register counter and no one acknowledged my presence. I saw how busy they were cramming and looks like fussing over behind orders . It was already at this point 10 minutes then I had asked one staff " any order takers available ?" Then was rudely answered " wait" At this point I saw the behind me with 7 customers lined up ... Few more minutes the order taker didn't apoligize for the wait whatsoever. I was standing behind the first register and she stood behind the other register farther from where I was waiting , didn't say anything with a very stern disgusted facial expression. I just started ordering for me and my family. Food quality at this location seemed not the same as I remember of Yoshinoya !!!! The food pictures on the menu board are definitely not the same portion as showed compared to the actual serving!!! So the COMBO XL looks like the regular combo. The taste of beef was bland and chicken meat was not tender and seems overdone. 4 stars for the Gyoza which was amazing!!!

    Large Beef and Clam Chowder

Went to the usual Yoshinoya and the food quality and serving size was horrible. Ordered a large beef and when I got home there was harder any beef! Also got a side of their new clam chowder and the cup wasn't only half filled! The team was more focused on rushing orders out vs the quality of service and food. But they charged the same price for a smaller portion. Very unfortunate.

This is long overdue. Draft needed to be shared hehe. Been…read morehere several times now and it's always delicious and made with attention to detail. Eduardo the owner is ALWAYS very attentive and full of joy to serve us. He checks on us to make sure everything is ok with our orders. Kiren the other owner has been awesome too, since our first visit. She was concerned my daughter wasn't eating. Also, always checking in on us. She remembered us the second time we came and asked if my daughter if she was doing better because the first time we were there she had morning sickness so she couldn't enjoy her food. I love finding hidden GEMS, especially Mexican restaurants, with real Mexican food!! What can I say ?! We love it ! Five times here. No regrets. Always good. Food is delicious! Service is AWESOME! Always so friendly, warm, & helpful since the first time we found them. . :D Can't believe it took me so long to find this hidden gem living nearby and around here all the time. How did I find it ?? Well, how do I, and we all, find all my / our favorite restaurants? I Yelped of course !!! :D I was in the area looking for a good place to eat. I yelped Mexican food and TA DA ! I would have never found it, since it's sort of hidden in an area less traveled, in the shopping center across from the West Covina Mall, behind sushiholics & The Bundt place. Same center where Panera is & Sushiholics, except it's on the back side street, on California Ave. I would have never walked over there, on the backside of the shopping center. Just happy to have found it now! Besides GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD ! We are suckers for birria. So 1st time here we had birria chilaquiles with over medium eggs plate, quesabirria, and ramen birria hehe ! YUMMM Yes, it was good, a little spicy for me, but good. I always have to clarify how I want my eggs at restaurants because believe it or not some cooks don't understand that over medium means soft yolks. They sometimes bring me over hard and that's not what I ordered. Over medium eggs have to be just right! No runny whites and no hard yolk. I explained that to Eduardo when ordering because I didn't want hard or soft; runny & gooey whites ewww. So I'm always very specific. Eduardo said no problem, if we don't get them right we can remake them for you. :D Woohooo ! They were perfect! Not many places get it right the first time, so they always remake them, but not here ! PERFECTION !! Thank you Eduardo!! I was happy ! Can't forget about the coffee!!! Oooh coffee! We love coffee so when the owner told us iced coffee ! Whoa ! Our eyes lit up ! YESSSSS please! It was good as well and when she saw we had finished it, she offered us a free refill. Thank you my new friend! You're the best !!! You made our day !!! We were like we're coming back !!! 2nd time, I had bulgogi breakfast bowl with over medium eggs ! I love eggs with beef ! Who doesn't ?! lol Eggs were perfect ! Beef was perfect too ! My grandson ate all my bulgogi though lol! I guess he liked it too. 3rd time on Friday 7/25/25 Eduardo always very cheerful & welcoming :) I ordered the chicken salad lunch, daughter ordered the green pozole! She's a sucker for green pozole hehe. I loved my salad! It was perfect! The chicken was perfect, pulled pieces with a green dressing that was whoa soooo YUMMMM ! This is making me hungry now. Daughter said pozole was good too Of course we will be back !! Need to try to yellow curry ! Next couple times had to order some previously had dishes like Birria ramen, tacos, pozole and chicken salad. Eduardo also accommodated my grandson, as he loves chicken but we get him grilled chicken. So he made a kids version of the chicken salad and it was just perfect and delicious too. PS good spot for kids too. They have a Foosball table ! So when they get antsy, they can go play! Kids love it and play every time. Great thinking! Thank you for this addition to your restaurant ! It's a plus for us with little ones because it helps with their impatience. This is GOLD !! Thank you Eduardo and Kiren ! We will be back next time we're looking for yummy Mexican food or are nearby. Have you tried ? Let me know if you stop by. I'd love to know what was your favorite dish. Happy eating & happy Yelping ! SYOY or IG ;) PS Support small family owned pro American businesses. IYKYK ;) Our communities need to thrive and it's up to us to help our community have the best services & places to eat. McDonald's isn't going anywhere and neither is Taco Bell or Starbucks. Cash is GOLD ! We need to keep cash alive to be able to have tangible spending money in our hands to give to those in need; not fake money that can be censored by technology like in other countries like the one that starts with Ch... He didn't send it back, but he ate the beans and potatoes, the tortillas were like quesadillas, which he was shocked because he thought it was just tortillas, what a nice surprise. My son had the same as me, and his plate was almost empty. I tapped out because the serving was huge, I was satisfied. The service was a 5+, the ambience was another 5+ but a 4 for the chicharron plate. Maybe it was slightly off. Will definitely come back again..

I took my mom here for a Mother's Day brunch and my birthday celebration because it falls around…read morethe same time every year. I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

It's a brown sugar milk tea with caramel foam with a floating frozen milk tea bear. ADORABLE!! The set even includes two house-made cookies. WOW! TASTY!! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

Since then, it's become one of our regular spots when we're craving certain dishes that are hard to find done this well. It's easily become one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Our repeat favorites: beef with black bean sauce (off-menu), shredded chicken (seasoned well), crispy fish with spicy salt (crispy with a kick), typhoon pork ribs (put the seasoned crumbs on your rice - yum!), chinese broccoli with dried fish (love the stems), shrimp cakes (crispy exterior bouncy inside) and beef chow fun (tender beef and abundant noodles). Their fried dishes are light, not greasy and leftovers re-crisp in the air fryer. Their lemon tea is refreshing and comes with 1 refill. If I had to recommend just 1 dish to try it would be the shredded chicken or the typhoon pork ribs (or fish if you prefer). Or just ask the ladies for suggestions and they'll lead you the right way.
