My partner and I walked in looking forward to everything, once we had been sat down by the hostess we were ignored by our waitress Cheyenne. She didn't greet us for almost 10 minutes and our hostess even got us our waters and apologized for the time she had been taking so long. Once she got our order moments afterwards another 10-15 minutes go by until we got our delicious food (served yet again by our hostess and not the waitress.) but during that time our waitress was happily serving the other guests and got their drinks before us. While we were eating our food, I noticed she didn't bother to stop by our table to see how we were doing or ask about our food. She went to the other tables she had and asked them, got them refills and other things they have mentioned. I tried to make eye contact but she would ignore my eyes when we locked, even eyeballed our table and still didn't talk to us. Towards the end I noticed the hostess and our waitress talking and looking at us (assuming the hostess said something to her about us being finished with our food.) She then came to our table saying "I see you guys are full, here are your double deep fried Oreos" and passes off the check. When we gave her the card to pay for she then realized she had forgotten our drinks. which I do appreciate she comped our appetizer, gave us a discount and then made my drink (not her but yet again the hostess.) Did not appreciate the baby talk when she was talking though saying "I am so sowy" and etc. I don't know if this was intentional or not but this was an upsetting experience.

We enjoyed the upbeat music and the Japanese decor; some of items can be purchased. We started out with the Takoyaki (Octopus) appetizer and was pleasantly surprised, it had the right amount of outside crispiness and softness inside; 5 out of 5 stars. I then had the garlic tonkatsu with 2 slices of pork chashu, marinated egg, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, scallions, garlic flakes, and nori (seaweed) paper. The base and noodles was good but the meat was hard and not melts in your mouth soft. The noodles wasn't freshly made and I chewed on a solid ramen clump. My star rating is based on the inland location or it'd be 3 stars in other states. Tip: They offer Military discount.

Be prepared to wait for your food. Good ramen is made to order, so it is not immediately served. If the restaurant is busy, be prepared to wait even longer, but it is worth the wait. The price is incredibly reasonable considering lower quality ramen in the Omaha area is charging upwards of $17 dollars a bowl. The Kara-Age is delicious, and even the spicy tuna roll (a guilty pleasure of mine) is good. The Ambiance is simple and clean. I would recommend it to anyone wanting quality ramen without all the Anime themes and dusty Tchotchkes littering every wall.

I went with a friend and got the salmon rice bowl, WOW was it good!! Way better than their ramen, it was great fish, a bit of spice, SUPER crisp cucumbers, and fresh bok choy. The service was quick, they took their time preparing the food fresh and it showed. The new canned cocktail they have, 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 tea, was PHENOMENAL! It's a casual spot but if you want to go in for a nice dinner or lunch with your friends, no one will look at you funny for dressing up!

Also, you must check out the sake bar underneath the restaurant in the evenings. Small and personal it fits right alongside Ika's vibe and includes some new cocktails.

That said, it is a nice food court with several good vendors, a bar, greenery, and natural light. We spent nearly $40, which we felt was pricey for a lunch for 2, but the portions themselves were generous. There was an absolute ton of rice in each rice bowl, probably at least 1.5 cups. We both ate the toppings and left behind ton of extra rice. I would recommend they add more kimchi, cucumber, or something to balance out the rice. The taste was okay - the bang bang chicken had more of a mustard taste, which I liked, and the tofu had more of a sweet and sour, which I didn't. The potato wedges in the bowl had the best spice on them, which I think was a sweet chili. The curry fries were good, and I liked they you could add those on with a can of soda for $3. They also have the option to add a side of 4 dumplings on to your bowl, which is the perfect amount to get a taste. The chicken dumplings were decently tasty, and served with soy sauce. Overall, this was a solid place for a quick lunch, but not a standout in my book.

I'm in Omaha for a conference and wandered over to Akarui for a light bite between lunch and dinner, right around happy hour. I can say without hesitation that I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. The quality of the fish was outstanding. I also had the pleasure of chatting with Sunny, one of the owners, who was absolutely delightful. She shared the story of how she and her husband moved from Brooklyn and opened the restaurant five years ago. She explained that they receive fresh fish deliveries twice a week, and it absolutely shows. Everything I ordered was phenomenal. Fresh, beautifully prepared, and every bite exceeded my expectations. If you're in Omaha and craving sushi, this place is well worth the visit. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

We recently went to dinner here and we were both hungry and eager for some Ramen. I ordered the Blackstone Tonk with an egg and my boyfriend ordered the Spicy Miso with extra noodles. The broth for mine was rich, flavorful, and warm. The pork was perfectly tender and the egg added texture and more flavor for me. My boyfriend is always happy with a little spicy heat in his meals and he was pleased with his choice. He may have added a little more spice but that's just because he's evolved his tastebuds to handle it. Anytime we decide to come to this Ika I know that the food and service will be consistent. The servers are always on point in checking on you, our waters were refilled a few times, and they never seem like they are rushing us out the door. I really lovveed the atmosphere of this restaurant. The dim red lights, cool air, and the buzz of people talking created a nice, relaxed vibe. The staff were super friendly, we were seated quickly, and the restaurant was very clean. My favorite part was the outdoor seating area overlooking the quiet downtown streets. It was a great place to sit and enjoy the evening. We went in and instantly ordered the chicken and pork momos - 10 each. There was a long 15 -20 min wait because it was quiet late and they wanted to make them fresh but as soon as they came out - my heart filled with so much joy and excitement because they looked and tasted absolutely authentic and were priced right- $15 each. The wrappers were thin yet sturdy, had a well seasoned moist filling that tasted fresh and home made. The chutney it was served with, felt like it was bought from Nepal - it was spicy, smokey and tangy and really complimented the momos. Your train should definitely stop at this station without fail!!! They are a complete flavor bomb.
