2/5 stars -- Honest Review: Small Implant + Lift I had a breast lift with a small implant (under 300cc) and spent over $12,000 hoping for a refreshed, natural result. I'm 45, have had kids, and had lost volume over the years. I wasn't looking for huge--just perky and full again. What I got instead was... underwhelming. Yes, the nipples are higher and my chest looks better without a bra, but under clothes? It's almost like nothing changed. I still look and feel deflated in the upper pole. I still struggle with bras because my shape wasn't corrected enough for the implant to "carry" the rest. And the worst part? The doctor made it seem like I'd have this youthful, round look--but didn't prepare me at all for what happens when you put a small implant under soft, naturally sag-prone tissue. I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Yates December 2024. The experience was great as well as the staff, very kind and professional. After everything was said and done and I paid thousands of dollars are when my problems started. During my consultation, Yates assured me that I did not need a breast lift & also said he was happy we didn't go with a breast lift at my three week post op. My implant and soft tissue of my breast made a very distinct line and did not give a natural hang that was originally talked about. It is flat on the bottom along with the very large scars I was left with along with a cut across my breast and nipple from the scalpel due to a slip during surgery. I of course took this up with Yates at my 6 week appointment when it was healed and the implants were in their desired position. He chalked it up to my anatomy or "natural tight fold" under my breast and that there was nothing to be done about it really. This tight fold being an issue was not brought up in my original consultation. He then proceeded to tell me I needed a breast lift and opt for a smaller implant after I addressed my concerns and he saw pictures. He also said he "doesn't see enough benefit in doing surgery and to leave it alone". I am the one who gets to live with this and I feel completely helpless over it. I went to get a second opinion and that doctor said the fold is just like any other one and that he would recommend a lift and pocket adjustment to fix the pocket so they aren't so spread apart when laying on my back. I would then have room for the bigger implants I originally wanted in the first place. It truly makes me sad because I had so much confidence in Yates and he made me believe I was making the right decision going through with it. I thought for sure that he would see the imperfection and address it accordingly but when I started asking questions he made me feel like it was my fault and my body. Amazing experience!!! I am 3 weeks post-op from a mommy makeover which included a full tummy tuck and breast augmentation revision. Dr Yates knew I would be a very difficult case due to a couple prior breast revisions by other surgeons out of state. I also made it much harder on him due to prior liposuction scarring all over my abdomen...he accepted the challenge and worked his MAGIC!!! I am so extremely pleased with my results already. I will need another final surgery on my breasts in 3 months but, this was discussed and agreed upon with Dr Yates ahead of time. I have the cutest and sexiest belly button ever, not to mention a flat defined set of abs. Can't wait to see what I will all look like in 3-6 months. I mainly used over the counter Tylenol for my discomfort, I can't say that I was ever in pain, days 4 and 5 were the worst but other than that no biggie. My scars are looking beautiful. I would like to send a shout out to his anesthesiologist, I had an impeccable nap and absolutely no nausea after the surgery... which I was really worried about. Dr York Yates is an excellent hand surgeon (Plastic Surgeon) who removed a keloid growth from my hand due to previous surgeons not protecting my slashed repaired hand with a splint till it healed properly. Well the stitches ripped inside and created a void where the body quickly fills with a protein substance. This forms into a keloid. (Look it up on wiki) Other doctors I saw Said to give it time to heal. No way !!! I said. My family doctor recommended Dr Yates who took one look at it and said "I can remove it. ". When I hesitated he said "You don't want to live with that for the rest of your life do you ? ". Thanks Dr Yates for giving me the courage to get it off my hand. (It was gross). My call to get to see him was answered by his assistant, your informed of the fee I then asked if i could get it back if I don't want his service she said some can - which they have a way of not telling the truth. you lose your money if you don't want his services. they will take multiple pictures of your breast at every angle but, they're pictures oh of course talking to Yates they will keep the money. Dr. Yates quoted 8,000.00 just to remove ruptured implants. It now opened my eyes that Dr. York Yates is just in it for the money, not you. I had a breast augmentation. Dr. Yates is a skilled surgeon, my scars look great. Unfortunately, he feels that he can decide, once your under the knife, what size he thinks your breasts should be. We decided together on a size. We took pictures with the proposed size photo shopped in. The pictures looked fine. I just wanted my saggy skin filled in with a full B/small C. which is what I was before breastfeeding. I am not a girl who likes attention, I just wanted to fill in my bra. I didn't want the weight of larger breasts on my chest or to impede my workouts. I also have a small narrow back and not a lot of space between the bottom of my breasts and waist. DR. YORK decided to give me DD's. They are not what I wanted. They are heavy, saggy in weight, and they stick out on the sides of my back making halters, swimsuits and some other tops impossible to wear and they make me look chubby and short waisted. I am 5'8" 135lbs. When I went in for my 1 month checkup and told him I was surprised and disappointed that he didn't listen and gave me huge boobs. He said I would end up loving them and that "most" girls are disappointed that their breasts are not larger. I did not go back for my year appointment because I am so angry. Still angry. I have lived with them now for 4 years. I am having shoulder and back pain due to the weight of these huge boobs. Now my only recourse is to continue to live with them or go under the knife again, paying to fix the choice he made for my body and all the risks and pain that come with surgery, not to mention my skin would probably be even more stretched out. I was 12 the first time I asked my mom for a breast augmentation. Silly, I know, but; all of my friends were developing and I just wasn't. As a result I was heavily picked on, I was tall, skinny, and flat as a pancake. When I finally started to develop my hips developed a lot better than my breasts. I was absolutely convinced I looked like a pear and hated it! However, I did modeling and beauty pageants as a teen and that greatly helped my self-esteem, yet still; I wasn't 100% comfortable with my appearance. Oddly enough, I felt the best about my appearance when I was nursing my daughter, despite the "mommy pooch." I was informed after I had my daughter that I had developed diastatis recti (the separation of abdominal muscles) and despite my best efforts I would always have the mommy pooch. Be cautious of the 5 start reviews they offer discounts for leaving a good review and bug u for months about it. Not saying everyone had a bad experience but mine left me fighting severe depression. After breastfeeding I wanted to feel good about myself again. I went to Dr. Yates in hopes of getting some confidence back. This has been the worst mistake of my life I went from being a little insecure about my breast to severely depressed (medication just to sleep). I'm petite 5'1 120lb with naturally big breast (large C) I wanted to get some volume back in my breasts and a better shape and possibly a nipple reduction. Dr Yates made me believe that just with small breast implants I could get the results I wanted. I was so excited and trusted him that I had them done. I look ridiculous so unproportioned to my body heavy and their actually making my breasts sag more, I went from wearing cute pushup bras to full coverage support sport bras. My scars under my breast don't even match one is on the crease and the other is on the breast. I can't do any kind of arm workouts pull-ups, pushups without them feeling like the implants are going to rip through my scars. When I flex my arms, lift anything they lift upwards (breast look like ET's head). They don't feel natural even though they tell u they will, they don't look natural, I have a lot of breast tissue and u can still see the implants depending on how I lay down or move my arms. I also got the nipple reduction which this is the worst part, Dr. Yates made me believe that I would benefit from it and everything would be great, I asked him multiple times if I would still be able to breast feed in the future, he didn't say maybe or 50/50, he told me YES (I wish I had it on recording) or else I wasn't going to get it done. I am left with permanent nerve damage and literally no nipples it's flat/ no side profile, u can't feel where they were. He destroyed my nipples, every day I deal with pain, my nipples don't form (poke out or get hard) there's no shape, if they try to form (from the cold, etc ) they hurt like their being ripped/pulled from the scars on my nipples, they get flaky/peel I have to put coconut oil on them, they itch, the worst part is they cause me severe pain if my partner tries to latch on or even stimulate them (slightest touch or nab) I start crying from the pain and they stay sore for days. I have seen multiple reconstructive plastic surgeons in the past 3 years, that have confirmed that I will never be able to breast feed again, that the method Dr. yates cut my nipples leaves a painful tip, loss of sensation and with no chance of breast feeding that they never recommend or do that type of method, something that Dr. Yates never mention and like I said insured me that, I would benefit and still be able to breastfeed his either dishonest or lacking knowledge and they are all in complete shock that Dr. yates did such surgeries on me and not have suggested something else or just not done them. I'll I can do is sit there and cry while each surgeon looks at me, it would cost me about 20k for them to take my implants back out , reconstruct my nipples/ grafting and a lift to try to fix everything that he caused but will forever live with the pain from the nerve damage. It has ruined my sex life, my ability to feed my child, my self-esteem, always in pain. I know I chose to get these surgeries done but I trusted Dr. Yates in guiding me, being honest and providing the best outcome. I wish I would have seen the reviews on other websites people mention, that his like a car sales man and as long as u have the money he'll do anything whether it's for the best interest of your body or not. I wish I never had anything done and learned to love and be comfortable with myself, no one likes their own breasts, nose, butts etc. I would do anything to have my mom boobs/nipples back. But if you still wish to get anything done please do your research and who u trust this is your life and body and remember it's not a permanent fix. I have spent alot of time and money working with surgery from hair transplants, lipo, reconstructive surgery from an auto accident, as well as fat grafting to add symmetry and repair to nerve damage from a health condition. In which i am a male but have also had Dr. yates perform a breast reduction on me. I was not huge so I didnt need alot of reconstructive surgery. You dont grow more fat cells they simply enlarge or contract, so with augmentation you can take them where you dont want them and put them where you do. I have had over 4 different procedures with Dr. Yates, and he has been my go to surgeon for more than a decade now! I can't wait to trust my wife, friends and family in his talented hands. read more
