Dr. Heaton is patient and takes his time diagnosing and explaining the reasons for said issue an the options for treatment. Isn't aggressive or forceful when it comes to prescriptions "making you" buy a certain product that is expensive or benefits him in some way. Lets the customer decide what is best for them. It pains me to write this but the billing dept there.....good grief it's been a nightmare. There were multiple times when I thought my bills were paid and yet I was told they were not. After going back and forth, and showing them the proof of payment, they said we were good to go and I moved on. This process literally happened probably three times. However, my credit report was just hit with a bill from Legacy that is two years old. Writing this is painful because I genuinely liked Dr Heaton. He's great and I would love to continue going there but there are some serious problems inside of the billing department that are now directly hitting my credit. To the Legacy Derm Dept - I just paid Bonneville Collections. You won. You got paid (again.) I'm genuinely disappointed and shocked that you would do this despite my being such a long term patient. read more

We are frequent flyers for Dr. Heaton and Dr. Mitton, and have the highest confidence in their work. After only one visit, you feel like you are visiting your best friends. The office is perfectly clean and neat and decorated with a peaceful feel. Everyone you meet in the office, is so friendly and helpful, and the doctors are the best in the business. My husband has multiple skin cancers and has to have MOHS surgery often, they take such good care of him, and he actually loves going, and visiting with everyone in the office and the doctors. We both highly recommend these amazing doctors and want to thank them and their entire office staff for their kindness to us with every visit. read more

I received laser vein removal on my face which went very well, so I specifically scheduled with the same technician to do laser treatment on a few cosmetic spider veins on my legs. Without any advanced notice, a different technician arrived to treat my veins and completely decimated parts of my leg. I have two holes that are still healing, one of which is 3/4ths of an inch long and deep. I went for a second opinion elsewhere and the wound tested positive for Staphylococcus and continuing to worsen. This practice should have at least called in advance to provide the opportunity to reschedule with the trusted technician, rather than having an ill-trained technician fill in last moment. read more

Terrible clinic. Not only was their treatment ineffective, they made it just about impossible to ever obtain a refill of any prescription. They ignored my pharmacy on EVERY occasion for a prescription refill request....This is just skin cream people...these are not controlled substances here. This means that really they just want you to make an appointment each time you need a prescription refill, I'd say you might be "nickel and diming" the patients here. read more

I did my research before selecting Legacy for multiple instances of mole removal including one that was causing me some real concern. I drove to Bountiful from Ogden and would do so again in a heartbeat. The entire team is gracious and kind. Dr. Heaton was especially attentive as he took the time to review my concerns and explain options and procedures. His bedside manner is easily the best in the business. I just moved to the area a few months ago and was looking for a good dermatologist since I've been having a lot of issues with an itchy, flaky scalp, dandruff and thinning hair as of late. Dr. Heaton and his staff made me feel right at home. I'm from California so I've been spoiled by pretty doctor's offices - but here, it's not just about looks - they back it up with the high quality of the care you need and expect. The office is comfortable and clean, and everyone is super friendly and excited to help you out. I just have to get some prescriptions from the pharmacy and we'll see if it helps my itchy scalp...if not, I know I can call back for more assistance. I think I will recommend this place to my husband too, since he has chronic cystic acne and needs to see a dermatologist again soon. read more

I can't say enough good things about legacy dermatology. Dr Heaton takes the time to really understand the issue and explain your options. I had a very large painful acne breakout on my chin for weeks. He gave me a quick injection and it went away in two days. Today I saw Shalise, the NP and she was fantastic. I had three spots on my face I wanted looked at. She was very kind, experienced, efficient but also thorough. She checked it out, corrected two of them on the spot and recommended the third be biopsied just to be sure it's not an issue. There are closer dermatologists to me but I trust this practice and will continue to return. read more
