So delicious! Their pastry breads are so light and fluffy. We tried several options and loved them all! I purchased: 1 bag of mini vegetable bread 1 twist bread (deep fried dough, dipped in sugar) 1 sarada sandwich (wish it had a little less mayo) 1 almond cream bread 1 fried red bean bread 1 slice of vanilla cream cake 1 special bread The place is very clean and the owner is very professional, courteous, and friendly! They came out with a small plate of samples to try and she took the time to explain the ingredients. We love them and look forward to trying their other options! read more

I love this place! It's always a treat to get some pastries from Yoon's. My favorites are the red bean bun and the blueberry bun.

This place was much smaller than I had expected, but it was very warm and cozy and smelled like fresh backed bread! I'm really glad that I came in to give Yoon's a try because every so often, I'll get a craving for Asian pastries. The number of choices did seem to be pretty limited, and a majority of them were either sweet or filled with cream/custard. This might be a plus for some people, but I prefer savory Asian breads, or those that aren't filled with cream. I ended up purchasing an egg tart, two corn and mayo buns for my sister, and a whole wheat red bean bun! The egg tart was very good! It was not overly sweet, nor did it have an overpowering egg flavor. The crust was so flaky that it just fell apart upon biting into it! It was a little pricey, at around $3, but it's definitely a nice treat for once in a while! I also tried the red bean bun, which I was really glad came in whole as well as white wheat bread. The bun was fluffy and a little sweet, just like you would expect of an Asian bakery. The red bean filling was also very light and fluffy, without being too sweet or too dense. For any red bean lovers like me, this is a great choice and it's under $2 too! For 4 buns, it was a little over $8, which is a little pricey, and I definitely won't be giving up my Kroger brand bread for these Asian goods. However, when those random cravings for sweet buns do come, I'd be open to stopping by, trying some samples, and picking up a bun or two! read more

Came here last weekend while my parents flew in. We wanted something to hold us over and i mentioned to them about Yoon's bakery and so glad that we went My parents are both very picky eaters and will instantly criticize if they think something is not tasty. We all loved Yoon's bakery. This is korean bakery at its finest. The taste that you get here is not the same as you get in chains Didn't get to take any pics because it all ended up in my stomach bit we boughts bags full of bread that were devoured within 2 days Its light and not overly sweet and the best part is they have samples of pastries. Highly recommend Yoon's for anyone! read more

Yes it is very expensive for Asian baked goods... ~$2.50 per bun. However, I have no problem spending money on food that tastes good and is going to a mom and pop startup store. We walked in and were immediately greeting by a nice lady that gave us recommendations on what to get. She even told us the order in which to eat them! We ended up spending $20 on around 8 pastries. The quality of everything we had was top notch. The bread was very fluffy, the fillings were not too sweet, and all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. In Ann Arbor, the alternative is to drive 40 minutes one way to get Asian pastries for maybe a buck cheaper per item. For the convenience, Yoon's is number 1 in the area! read more

I have been so impressed with the delicious offering. Every Tuesday, I have visited the bakery to bring everything from the Mammoth Bread, Egg Tarts and the incredible Carrot Cake to my friends and family. The team at the Bakery is very helpful and kind. I have ordered the Chocolate Roll cake to the delight of visiting family. Thank you for the opportunity to experience the wonderful Korean breads and other baked goods. Each time I add new items to my purchase for everyone to try. The chocolate walnut cookie was fabulous with big chunks of dark chocolate and huge walnut pieces. The quality of everything that I have purchased has been superb. read more

Great new Korean bakery that fills a void ever since Eastern Accents closed. I visited the first week it opened and the majority of the items were sold out, but the ones that they did have were still excellent (cream pastries, red and white bean buns). The bread itself is light (just a little too buttery in my opinion but I think most would love it), while the inside filling portions are heavy, rich and sweet. The only other asian bakery I know of in this area is Pastry House Hippo in Novi, and I would say that the quality of Yoon's is on par with Pastry House Hippo, although the buns I tried were more dense in terms of their fillings. I'd recommend getting there early to check out their entire selection! read more

Ever since Eastern Accents closed downtown there has been a hole in Ann Arbor when it comes to Asian baked goods. With the opening of Yoon's Bakery I can happily report that this hole has been filled. Upon walking into the bakery we were greeted by a very kind lady that gave us a tour of all the baked goods they make. The passion and excitement that exuded from her was very infectious. These pastries were a work of art. You can tell that each one was created with car. Some typical Asian baked goods they have are custard rolls, red/green bean paste rolls, and fresh out of the oven egg tarts. We settled for a custard roll, green bean roll, and a pastry completely unique to Yoon's (Mr. Yoon's Special Pastry). This pastry is a hall of fame, sample it all pastry where there is a layer of green bean paste, red bean paste, and cream. The combination is like nothing I've had and oh so good. On our way out we noticed some baguettes fresh from the oven. They were topped with butter and cream. The look and smell these gave off was heavenly, but alas we did not get one. For next time! For several years now we have wanted a local Asian bakery here in Ann Arbor and are pleased that one as unique and delicious as Yoon's has opened up. If you are craving Asian baked goods, this is the stop you have to make. read more

We've been to Yoon's a handful of times now, trying different baked good with each visit. Everything has been great! I have to say that my favorite is the red bean rolls, but it really seems like you can't go wrong. We've also always had friendly service. read more

My review is based only on a purchase of a whole creme cake and a loaf of bread, both of which are amazing! I bought the cake for a last-minute birthday party and it was packaged in the cutest carry out box. The glazed fresh fruits on top were delish, the "frosting" was almost like whipped cream (not too sweet), and the cake itself was so moist and fluffy! I will definitely order ahead for the next occasion so they can customize it! The loaf of bread I bought when I was picking up the cake was just calling my name... I've been missing good, fluffy bread since my last trip to Pastry Hippo in Novi. Yoon's didn't disappoint. I'm making plans to visit again for their fantastic looking pastries. I really like that they package most of them, to keep them fresh! Update: Came back for dessert after eating at the songbird cafe, and I made a mistake in not buying pastries the first time around!! I had the chocolate puff (so delicious, the chocolate creme is so light and plentiful!) and the special flatbread they had that day. It had red bean, creme, and matcha green tea(?) on the inside of a doughy, sweet flatbread. This is now my go-to spot to gain 20 pounds. read more

If you have never tried Korean breads, you should. They have many different flavors filled with almond cream or mocha cream or red bean paste for example. Korean cakes are also very delicious. The women who were working when I went were super nice and can answer any questions that you might have. read more

Very nice little bakery. We were visiting the city and found this bakery on Yelp, thought we give this a try. Each item is individually packed and staff were very friendly. If we visit Ann Arbor again, we will surely stop by. read more

Pastries were great, they were fresh and oh my god my friend and I couldn't get over how fluffy the bread was. The bread was everything. We got an egg tart, red bean paste bun, two cream breads, and a custard bun. It's a small business run by a kind family. What really made the place amazing was how homey it was, and how you could immediately tell the pastries were handcrafted with care and passion. Can't wait to return next summer! Also $10 minimum with your credit card. read more

Really great baked goods here! All Asian based baked goods. Most were light as air and delicious! I bought a bunch of different items and was pleased with all of them. This place deserves a return for sure. read more

Overpriced and rude customer service. The interaction with the customer is limited because this is a self-serve bakery and yet they manage to leave a rude and unfriendly impression. The bread is mediocre, nothing spectacular, pretty standard Korean bakery. The added value is that they make it fresh and there is no competitor in the area other than Hippo, which is a good 30 minute drive away and is slightly different since it's Japanese (Korean and Japanese bakeries obviously have their distinctive styles). Perhaps it's due to the lack of competition that the staff at Yoon's Bakery don't feel the need to even try to show some hospitality to their customers. Won't be going back. Not worth dealing with their rudeness. read more

Expensive but a wonderful bakery for Asian type cakes, breads and pastries! The prices of the baked goods reflect the value and deliciousness of the mom and pop business! read more

I like the baking very much. Hope they will provide delivery service so that I can order birthday cake for my best friend as a surprise. Especially I cannot be there celebrating with them. read more

Very tasty and good atmosphere. Their bread is delicate and reminds me of my favorite bakery in Japan. All bread I tried was great and never disappointing. Especially Red paste with cream and Croquette are my favorite. Best bakery in the area! read more

The bakery was clean with a large variety of yummy looking pastries. I picked up the espresso cream filled bread. I was expecting the texture to be a bit more fluffy and soft, but it was good. Not too sweet like typical American-style bakeries. I'm rating this bakery lower because the customer service was almost non-existent. Also, I was drawn to this bakery because of the chalkboard written in Japanese. I asked and the bakery is Korean. False advertising? read more

This is a delicious bakery. Upon entering I was greeted by the cute owner who lead me through the different pastries and treats available. She provided me with an assortment of must try pastries. I must say they were delicious and interesting to see black/red beans puréed into a sweet cream like paste in these pastries. I enjoyed the pastries but my favorite to recommend would be the egg tart- not overly sweet with a delicate egg flavor that balances out with the crisp crust. Definitely stop by Happy eatings! -S read more

really clean interior. i enjoy that they used real whipped cream inside their pastries instead of the fake kind. it's much more of a delicacy this way read more

I drove one and half hour only for this bakery. I usually go to Hippo Bakery when I'm in East side of Michigan, and I'm glad that I found this place! Not a huge selection, but their bun and bread are fresh, and delicious. I literally tried almost everything since it was my first visit, and all the breads I tried was great. If you love Asian bakery (Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese), this is the place you want to go. Only drawback is very limited parking on Saturday/Sunday peak time - there's a Chinese market right next to this place and Plaza is packed with cars so parking space is a little limited. Still, I don't mind for delicious treats! read more

this place was amazing. the chocolate cake has a nice rich flavor without being too sweet. their other desserts are pretty decent as well. the buns and egg tart are both delicious. decent price considering you're supporting a local ann arbor bakery read more

Yoon's Bakery - nice bakery! got this chocolate cake for my birthday. wasn't too sweet with a great, rich chocolate flavor. - Bakeries Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

Wow! Best breads I've ever tasted! The red bean and cream is a must-try! And the fresh cream pie is out of this world-so light and fluffy. Right now, due to COVID it is only one customer in the shop at a time-so be prepared to wait outside for a little bit. read more

I bought a curry bun and it was cold. There also weren't that many selections to choose from when I was there. However on the plus side, this place isn't as expensive as people gripe it to be. read more

Holy cow.... very impressive. Reasonably priced and delicious. The name may be Korean but this is also an authentic Japanese Bakery. In two days We sampled almost everything they have and every item we tried was flawless. They have a new Espresso Cream Bread that is worth the extra price. This is a must stop whenever we are in AA. read more

I happened upon this bakery whilst looking for a place to park myself before dinner with a friend. The owner was so sweet and offered me some samples while I perused the displays of breads and baked goods. True to the Asian palate, the baked goods were not overly sweet and there was good chew in the breads. I tried the sweet potato cream bread and it was amazing (and I bought one)! I bought the blueberry bread (shaped like a plain bagel) and a saboro bun. The price is a bit on the steep side, but for the quality and customer service, I am definitely coming back when I need a pastry fix! read more

We tried 5 different types of bread and they were all really delicious! Our favorites were the hazelnut cream bread and the red bean donut.

It's super hard to find a good asian bakery in Michigan, and as an international student, this place totally fulfill all my sweet and savory needs. I bought the red bean paste bun, curry bread, both of them are so delicious, will definitely stop by next time i'm in AA!! read more

This isn't a review on their bread, but on their honesty as a bakery. This has happened several times already. I would buy a couple loaves of bread, worth around $7 so I hand them a $20 bill. Every time, they give me $10 less in change than they're supposed to. I have to ASK for my correct change every time. When I ask for my change, the cashier looks at me all confused, as if he's trying to understand what I'm saying. Also, a friend of mine used to work there. She says the bakery puts pinches of an "unknown powder" into the bread. When she asked the owner what the powder really is, the response she got was "it makes the bread soft". I am appalled by the lack of honesty of this bakery. read more

YES YES YES!! Oh my goodness, I can't believe I didn't start going to Yoon's Bakery religiously since it's opening day because I'm absolutely obsessed with their pastries. Let me backtrack a little bit before I get too excited... This little bakery shop opened about a month ago right next to the North Campus Chinese Market. I had been anticipating its opening since the sign went up last winter, and thank goodness it opened before I graduated. It's a pretty small space and it doesn't seem like they've fully utilized their space yet, but I'm sure that'll come once they start getting more consistent business. The decor is simple and modern, and reminds me a little bit of a toned down version of Tous Les Jours. On to the pastries...I would go as far as saying that their bakery items taste better than the ones from Pastry House Hippo (though admittedly, the price is definitely much steeper). The bread is always so fresh, and their cream fillings always have the right amount of sugar. We asked the owner what she would suggest, and she said "croquette!! If you buy one, I'll give you another for free!" What?! So nice!! And the taste was phenomenal...this is practically my every day lunch food now. I really hope they'll do a bit more with publicity because they deserve it! Great decor, great service, great food! read more

Big fan of the little snacks here. The deep fried breads with the various fillings are awesome. Reminds me of the many bakeries in Chinatown/Koreatown. The selection is currently fairly limited as they're getting on their feet, but I expect there'll be more variety soon. They're currently hiring a barista so I would assume they're going to serve coffee and other drinks as well. Looking forward to going back and trying some drinks. read more

Tried to order a cake for my wife for her birthday Yoons first made me the wrong cake and then tried to blame it on me. After I argued and finally got a refund and left someone else called me back to yell at and argue with me again! One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. People make mistakes but there is no excuse for treating your customers (or anyone else) like that. AVOID read more

I had the soboro, mochi, sweet potato, and fried red bean buns. The soboro bun was alright -- light and fluffy but not as sweet or buttery as a pineapple bun. The mochi bun contained cream rather than mochi. Perhaps it was mislabeled? The sweet potato bun was good, with a smooth, sweet filling. The red bean bun had good red bean flavor and was tossed in sugar for a bit of crunch. This place is not at the level of 85 °C Bakery or even Paris Baguette, but it's pretty good and it's the only Asian bakery in A2. read more

This place is fabulous. I love going to check out the weekly, sometimes daily, selections. My favorite is the custard tarts which may make me basic, but I promise I do not care when the flakey, buttery crust is melting on my tongue and the delicious custard's got me drooling. The staff is talented at what they do. I wish there was coffee and that maybe the prices were a bit more forgiving, but sometimes a gorgeous treat is going to cost a pretty penny. read more

Wow. Just wow. I am extremely impressed with Yoon's Bakery. I was shopping by the nearby market when I noticed that this was open. I walked in and was greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries, always a good sign. I decided to go with the red bean bun since it's always a favorite of mine. I was blown away by the quality of the bun. The red bean paste was not overpowering compared to most store-bought buns and it was not overly sweet. I can safely say that Yoon's Bakery is a great addition to the Plymouth Mall and I will definitely be back to try more of Mr. Yoon's breads. read more
