I've stayed here a few times and always find the bath house to be cleaner than any other campground I've visited. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the campsites give you a reasonable amount of space and privacy from your neighbors, and there are plenty of fun things to do nearby. read more

I can't say enough how amazing this campground is. Missy in the office was so engaging and sweet to us. My man is fighting Stage4 Cancer with Mets. I was trying to let him do a dream of his and Missy pointed me in the right direction. It took us a couple days to make it happen and Missy even let us come back after we left to rent our campsite another night, so he could do this bucket list activity. The campground is clean, beautiful, great bathrooms and showers. Road lights lite up enough at night to feel safe, but not a bother to you when at your campsite. Great nearby towns. Everyone was so nice it was amazing! Highly recommend this wonderful place. And unfortunately after we returned home found out Cancer has spread to his brain, so this trip meant even more. Pros: staff was friendly, campground was quiet, playground and pool areas were nice. Very close to Helen and Babyland Hospital. Cons: Internet worked well when it was up and running, which was only one day of our stay. The roads are in desperate need of maintenance. They are mostly dirt with patches of gravel and a little pavement on the hills. IF YOU HAVE OVER A 35 FT CAMPER, THIS IS NOT THE CAMPGROUND FOR YOU. The turns are sharp. Our 43 ft drug really bad coming out. I wish they had told us this before we booked that their spots are really too small for this large of a camper. There were lots of people sleeping in their cars or in vans. One lady told us that the van they were sleeping in slid down the hill bc their spot wasn't level. This campground has really good potential. Just needs some TLC. read more

We stayed here for four nights while visiting our family that just moved to the area. Absolutely beautiful campsites. Easy to get in and out of. The pool was perfect. We were not around for any of the activities, but they did have some fun ones planned. Very accommodating. The drive in and out of the campsite also is a beautiful drive. Hoping to stay here again in a couple of months when we visit our daughter and her family locally. read more

Wow!! I wanted to like this hike but it was so rocky, crowded and dirty. Graffiti on all the large rocks and trash galore. It was very hard to social distance because the trail is very narrow and at some points almost impossible to pass without holding on to someone else or special gear. I do not recommend this for small children or dogs. Unless they like to climb. If the climb up was strenuous the way down was downright dangerous for most. read more

We camped here after a lot of friends recommended it to us, we were going for a short weekend and we had lots of fun !! We have a vintage 68 shasta so the site we had was the perfect size to accommodate us. The park itself was very nice and the staff very accommodating but the sites were a little closer together then we would normally want but i already expecting that based off the other reviews. The bathroom was very nice but the showers could have been cleaner. We loved the location it was only a 30 minute drive to explore dahlonega and super close to Helen. I would definitely stay here again for a short weekend trip or maybe bring the kids in the summer once COVID is over. All in all great experience but just don't expect super secluded sites . read more

I don't know who's been reviewing this campground but it is the noisiest campground I have been to in 35+ years of camping. I made reservations a month out and the site I received was on the corner of their pavilion, site #3. Let's go to that the lower back corner of the site is a storm drain appears to be 24" and at the bottom of the "resort" so first thing we have is a storm so all the ground water off all the other sites, campers, trucks, motor homes, people, animals and chemicals right threw the middle of the site to the point of washing mud and gravel up around my rv. The play ground is across the road behind me , the highway is beyond that and maintenance is to my left. I Road thru the camp multiple sites open and even much nicer. Turns out theirs a whole community that your not allowed to go into that use the road by site 3 as the only entrance. This being Our first and last trip to this joke of a resort, I will not recommend this place to anyone and would not put my worst enemy on site 3. Try it if you like it you have rock bottom expectations. After camping in well over 100 campgrounds and some very bad ones as well, from Virginia to Florida as from east coast to just west of the Mississippi. This makes my top of the list to avoid at all cost. Well after speaking with what I can only presume is an owner or operator my suspicions are confirmed. I came to the office was met by a lady on a golf cart , "can I help you" as if I was bothering her right off the start. Yes, "I said I'd like to discuss our site and visit" I explained to her the issues we have had as noted above and additional and that we were canceling the rest of our trip". The response was "have you paid for your stay?" I stated "Yes Mam on arrival" the lady goes "Oh Well" drove around me out through the front lawn and back on the road and off some where else. So if I was not convinced that this is the rudest, most uncaring and money hungry campground I have ever seen, I am now. You are treated as a nuisance. Yonah Mountain Campground is classified as an RV resort according to their website, but we had a great time with our tent! They have centrally located washrooms with lots of hot water - and they were never busy. The tenting sites are located beside a nice stream in an open field area (close to the swimming pool). There were not too many people around during our stay which was nice. This location had a lot of things to offer including wifi in the club house. The wifi was actually very good! Within the club house they had a nice lounge area with free cable. Lots of chairs and tables to use, water fountain and children's play area. Easily the best equipped campground I have been too - we actually stayed an extra day we liked it so much! Outside they had a great play area with basketballs nets and free basketballs to use. The pool was well maintained. They had a nice swing and fireplace area at the front of the property and games such as washer toss and shuffle board. During the summer they have lots of camp activities! The camp store is great and the staff was awesome. I would go back in a heartbeat! read more

We were at the campground as an extended stay. The site that we had to backup into was on a very steep angle. The dually in 4 wheel drive had a hard time pushing it up in the gravel. We were basically put in a gravel parking lot with very little space between RV's. As an extended stay, you will get charged for electricity if you go over $75. We were very careful about running air conditioners too much, etc. we still ended up paying $75-100 a month more. The camp host is pretty grumpy. She would stop and ask me if I was picking up after my dogs (poop bag in hand, yes, I am), she would question me whether or not I drove up the hill the right way. They say WiFi throughout the park. Good luck with that. Rarely are you able to connect to it; or if you do it will just stop working. Phone signal strength with Verizon is 0-1 bar. Okay if you are trying to get away from everything, not so good if you are working. They do have a pool, I never used it. It is small and very crowded. Would I stay here again? I have to disagree with the negative reviews here. I read them and thought they couldn't possibly be referring to the same place, but then upon further inspection I noticed they were complaining about the lack of wi-fi and the lady driving around in her golf cart. I had a GREAT time here! And I appreciated the lady in her golf cart because there was no litter, no speeding cars, and a sense of security. We went last year for Oktoberfest in nearby Helen, had a wonderful time, and will return. Very helpful and accommodating staff, excellent location, fair prices, kid friendly, clean bathrooms, beautiful scenery, nice pool, and much better than a hotel. THUMBS UP! read more

Great little campground near Cleveland Georgia. My family of five stayed here over Thanksgiving in our class A. We pulled in and we were met by the campground host who took me around to pick out a site. We only stayed four nights, but other than little bit of road noise, it seems like a quiet well-maintained park. Our site was relatively level, and hook ups were well spaced and well-maintained. The locals were extremely friendly, and we even got to go to the Thanksgiving potluck/ carry-in, where we stood out from most of the other RVers (who were traditional retirement age) but were still very welcome. We would love to stay at Yonah again. read more

Drove 14 hours from Ny to Yonah mountain campground. Got in around 3am. Had called and told them that we would be coming in late and they had left an envelope with our information on the office door. You are literally on a mountain. Everything is gravel and loose stone. Very little grass. So the original site they gave us was on an extreme incline and wasn't suited for a large Rv. Ended up snapping off our black water tank valve. 1000 miles from home and can't use my toilet. Ended up parking in a site across from our assigned site and went to sleep. Next morning went to check in and the staff was ok. Didn't seem to really care about the damage done to my Rv. On a side note, I was able to get it fixed after two days having to drive to Atlanta. The pool was nice. Very basic campground. Doesn't seem geared for families. The Bathrooms were Ok, and were cleaned on the regular. I almost slipped a few times on the gravel roads that are maintained with a skid steer. Seems like they should be paved. Only the tent sites have grass. Probably won't be staying here again. read more

A lovely spot. Got to put my second grade Cub Scout skills to good use! I brought my pup along on this trip. He's been a little strange lately, so I wanted to gather some thoughts. It seemed almost like he was posing for the photos I was taking of him on the mountain. And the last few weeks, I've noticed that my laptop and phone seem to have been tampered with anytime I step away. I watched this show called "Dog with a Blog" the other day, and I'm starting to get suspicious. Have any of you yelpers seen any blog posts recently that seem like they could've been written by a canine? We are coast to coast and had a reservation for Two weeks ... They put us in a spot were it is not level at all horrible gravel pit .. We asked about we can't pick another spot and she says we are busy that weekend .. These people stay for two days and then leave the rest of the week it's empty .. This is so wrong and makes you feel like we are nothing .. In this world people should treat people same no matter what .. oh and the staff lady grumpy and shows you that she is childish and afraid of loosing her job .. I was talking to one of the ladies across from us after we were done talking the staff lady went right over to her and after that they snubbed us .. We waved and they looked right at us just turned there heads not that I really care but shows staff talks bad about there customers. (That's Wrong ) But since we are coast coast we don't have a choice at picking a spot .. will not be going back read more

This campground was fantastic! Firstly, the staff is so kind! I called and made a reservation on the phone and they were very helpful and informative. We arrived late and they left us our paperwork with all the info and even upgraded our site! The restroom/showers are very well maintained, and the grounds are very clean and nicely decorated. They offer a variety of activities for all members of the family and even are pet friendly! My family and I are so happy we decided to camp there! The S'more night was a favorite! read more

I didn't like this place, I paid for 3 nights only stay for 2, from the beginning was a very unpleasant experience, lady driving the golf cart keep tell me not to get out my truck at the check in location but there is not signs referring so only to stop at the stop sign, I was located at one site really close to the main road with not shade plus the sites had a unpleasant smells from the sewage, 30 amps breaker was keeping tripping, maintenance was call and they spray some lime power around sewage but didn't work at all, I will only recommend this place if there is nothing also available, consider unicoi state park instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

DO NOT TENT CAMP HERE. Hosts run this place like an hourly-rate motel, but it's not nearly that classy. We wanted to be near Yonah Mountain for the hiking/climbing, but still have access to a bathroom (camping with kids). We made reservations based on the proximity to Yonah, even though a KOA-style campground is not the usual type of place we car camp. When we arrived, the host informed us that since it had been raining (like it has been ALL SPRING AND SUMMER), most of the tent sites were too wet to set up in, and told us to look around for the driest-looking one. Apparently, a spring has started underneath the tent camping area, and the creek along the property line has been flooding. Again, the hosts denied knowledge of this before we got there, but after this rainy season, I find it hard to believe they weren't aware of the issue when we made our reservations for tent sites. After reviewing all of the tent sites - which were all very boggy, some of them not even walkable without getting muddy ankles, we asked to have one of the RV sites that were 15 feet higher in elevation. We chose one that looked dry and firm, and asked if they had seen any water in that site. They said they had not. We expressed our frustration at feeling like we'd been given the bait and switch, they said we could get a refund or take the gravel parking pad. They also refused to give us a partial refund, since we had pre-paid for two sites but only found one that we thought we could get a tent into (they wouldn't allow us to have seven people on one site, even though three were children, because they only allow six per site). So we were stuck, but tried to make the best of it. We set up camp and took off to get our hiking and climbing in. Unsurprisingly, we got rained out, and returned to our campsite to hopefully dry off and get dinner. When we returned, there was a stream running through our campsite. It had overtaken the tub floor of the tent and there was a pond in the middle of our sleeping bags. We had to strike camp in a deluge and flee back to our home to dry everything out. This was from the "dry" site 15 feet higher than the sites they originally offered us. Bottom line: we were lied to, then treated like we were the ugly ones when I called them on their lie. The host told us that the next closest campground sells out a year in advance, and we wouldn't be able to get any other campsites. This all after denying prior knowledge of the tent camp area's tendency to turn into a swamp. If we had been informed before making our plans, we would have been able to adjust. As it was, we were robbed of our overpriced site rental fees, and we didn't even get to sleep there. Ruined weekend, all thanks to no-class, money-grubbing jerks. read more

Had a great experience! Great hosts and location. We went up on Thursday to beat the rush. Able to set up our tents early and were catered to all weekend even on busy Memorial Day weekend! Very clean bathrooms and well tended throughout the day. Attentive hosts stopped by to check if we needed anything. No kids with us, but families with kids of all ages seemed to have a great time; plenty to do on site! Highly recommend and already planning our next visit!! read more

Got here Friday before Labor Day, Norma came out on the golf cart got our name and asked me to follow her to our site. She helped back me in, got us a picnic table and I went in and payed for our site. Everyone we encountered was as nice as you can get, they really wanted our stay to be a good one. We had another spot reserved for our friends who were delayed a day and they held the spot and only charged them for the night they stayed. No there is no cable, and the wifi is only in the clubhouse but we made it through just fine. Great people and a great place to stay. A few miles from Cleveland and about 5-6 miles from Helen. read more

First time camping in Helen...everything was booked over Labor Day...Yonah Mountain luckily they had two cancellation before we called. We were so excited that they said they would be able accommodate two camper next to each other so our friends would be near us. The park was packed and our specific spots wernt ideal but we made it work. The park was really clean and nice; they had activities every night and church on Sunday. The staff was really sweet and accommodating...Norma was awesome. The camp location was great in relation to Helen although on the weekends traffic is horrible no matter where you are staying! Don't miss the biscuits at Yonah Burger...get their early or they sell out! Overall we had a great time at Yonah Mountain and we can't wait to go back! read more

My family and I went to see the solar eclipse. We chose this camp ground because of the amenities. Mainly the pool. However when we went to go use the pool it was closed. I went to front office to ask when it will be open at 10 am since they had posted a sign saying they where closing from 12:30 - 3pm for the eclipse. The manager got very rude with me saying the pool was low on water from all the use the previous day. And that I should be more creative to keep my 3 kids who had been up at 6 am wanting to swim to keep them entertained. And never provided a real answer to when the pool would be open. My thought was if the pool was low the night before why wasn't it filled then? Also by the time we got to use the pool it was so cold and dirty from the well water my kids wanted no part. If u want a good camp site use them but don't expect good service read more

We have camped at Yonah Mountain Campground multiple times with our 9 year old in a 32ft.camper and have felt like we were in a great private campground. Although some of the campsites are closer to the street once we were setup it felt private and nice. I am amazed at the other negative reviews because we have never experienced any negative attitudes from anyone working at this campground. They are kind to children when they see them and always go out of their way to make you feel welcome without making you feel like they are even there so such a great mix while camping. One of the reviews commenting on their age is preposterous because although we are young it is so disturbing to me that someone would judge someone because of age......hello we will all be older one day and honestly these nice people helping around the park are not that old so give me a break. It is a clean, nice, well maintained, family fun (shuffle board, bingo, pool, play areas, fire pit with smores, live entertainment) type park that we will continue to stay at for years to come!!!!!! Norma has helped us setup when we got there each time we came and she is nothing short of fabulous and welcoming. read more

We spent last weekend tent camping there. The tent sites are in an open field right up against Helen Hwy. We were treated to a busy highway and the accompanying noises all weekend instead of a relaxing camping experience illustrated on the website. There were also some very creepy crosses near the pond, but we hoped they were just Halloween decorations even though there weren't any other decorations up. This might be a nice place to take your RV, but there are a bunch of other places to tent camp that aren't right on a busy highway. read more

We went there for the labor day weekend. The place is very nice, clean, nice facilty and the staff friendly. Why 3 stars? because the area for tents, in my opinion, was not well planned. The tents are WAY to close to each other, you dont have a little bit of privacy. We are a family of 4, 2 of them little kids., The first night my husband and me we barely had some sleep because the couple camping next to us (talking about 15 cms distance) were talking till 3 am and we could hear every single word, but the worst part was not that: they were "doing their business" (you know what i mean) at least couple times and we could hear EVERYTHING!, that was a nightmare, imagine the situation with 2 little kids inside your tent. The next day we talked to the people in charged and they allowed us to move, but seriously, why the tents have to be THAT close to each other? read more

The employees are very nice and the bathrooms are clean. They have family activities for the season which is nice. However, we left after the first night though we paid for two nights. When I called to make a reservation for tent camping I asked if the sites "are on top of each other". The lady I spoke with said they are somewhat close, but she wouldn't say you are on top of each other. When we arrived we saw the sites are literally right next to each other. We set up however as the camp was not full so we didn't have anyone on either side of us. This was around 6pm. Around 9 pm a slew of people arrived and every site was filled. I spent the entire night listening to the man next to us snore, the cars driving by on the road (the campground is right next to a busy road), people clearing their throats, and babies crying. We were so close you could hear people whispering in their tents. It was awkward and uncomfortable. read more
