Each cabin was very large with all amenities that you could ask for, were very comfortable, spotless clean, roomy, great views and right on the river. The cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating in every aspect. Our entire group trailered our Harely Davidson's up from Florida and spent 5 days riding in the mountains. The cabin property had spacious trailer parking out of the way of the cabins and also has covered motorcycle parking which was great to have. My wife and I were so happy with the location and quality that was provided within the cabins we are planning to return in 2025 for another week.

Everyone was super friendly and almost all of the campers stopped to talk to us as they went about the park walking their dogs, going for a stroll, or visiting the ponds and walking trail. We felt very welcome and our pets were very welcome, too. Every campsite had at least one pet, if not two. I highly recommend Deer Springs if you want a campground that is a quiet, relaxing spot. Take a jacket - it gets cooler at night (elevation is over 3400') than the surrounding area.

As they become comfortable with your stay, they become increasingly hostile over seriously nothing. A simple question about Wi-Fi or anything will elicit screams and hollers and even hanging up on you. Joni even yelled at my DoorDash driver who was still parked in my driveway. She has owned this campground for 28 years as she will remind you time and time again. In my opinion it's time to retire. She is burnt out and the most unhappiest woman I have ever met. This is not exclusive to me, but all of my neighbors as well. They are terrified of her. I think I'm the only one to stand up to her outbursts and not take her sh*t. The more scenic sites are at a 45° angle so be prepared to back your RV in up at that angle. Please know that if there is any rain, you will be quite easily stuck at your site due to slick mud and clay and ancient, well embedded gravel that is no longer helpful for your RV and vehicle. My Expedition was stuck just pulling into my drive, if that tells you anything. There are so many other great RV sites such as Tuckaseegee (River & Rails), Great Smoky Mtns RV resort, and the Great Outdoors ($$$$). There is no reason to deal with the hostility here. Mathew made lovely breakfasts for us on both days of our stay, and we enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend in the Star Maiden room in the Inn. Fire Mountain is an elegant, upscale, romantic getaway meant to unplug you from the stresses of daily life. Hiram and Mathew provide a catered experience that is perfectly curated, and we loved returning to this special place. Ambiguous and predatory booking experience, poor communication, awful hospitality…read more I booked Fire Mountain through Booking.com believing I was reserving a room without immediate payment. The process did not make the payment commitment clear to me, and I was charged for a nonrefundable stay 5 minutes after booking the reservation. I immediately tried to contact the property to explain the situation. My wife is pregnant, and our travel plans were tentative while we awaited medical advice. We explained this and requested a full refund. Despite knowing our circumstances, the property declined that request. Despite repeated attempts, including through Booking.com, I haven't been able to speak directly with the owner about the decision. In my latest conversation with Booking.com, their representative advised me to dispute the charge with my card issuer. I understand businesses have cancellation policies. But clear booking terms, responsive communication and how requests for flexibility are handled matter too. This experience has left us deeply disappointed in the hospitality shown. Based on how this has been handled, I would not book with Fire Mountain again. This review concerns the booking and customer service; we have not stayed at the property

It is quite near the Nantahala Outdoor Center and also the town of Bryson City, NC. There's so much to do at both places, and to have a lovely, fully equipped tiny home/cabin to come home to really made the day awesome. The host is great -- professional, courteous, and helpful. They even offer a 'smores pack' for your campfire at night! The view of the mountains is SPECTACULAR. We loved it and plan to come back again!

There are a variety of campsites, from tents to large 50-amp RVs. I really enjoy walking my dog around every day, meeting the neighbors, seeing all kinds of wildlife, and soaking up the mountains. Also, really good WiFi!
