Persimmon Creek campground is a peaceful and beautifully maintained place for families, groups, and solo travelers - with or without pets! There's bamboo fishing poles provided at no charge where you can fish in the central pond - and pull out a fish with virtually every cast! Then there's the stunning creek that borders the entire eastern side of the campground where you can swim or pan for gold - it's amazing! The showers and bathrooms are some of the best we have seen, and the full hookups were reliable. Lots are spacious and feature picnic table and fire ring, with plenty of room for your rig and gear. The best part about this campground is Tony and Karen, the owners. They'll provide you with exactly what you need, including friendly, meaningful conversation. We stayed at this campground for a month and it was always a pleasure interacting with these two. We wanted to stay longer and regret leaving but we're off to explore the rest of the country on our search to buy some land. The owners are very accommodating and have really made our stay more enjoyable. Nice clubhouse with plenty of kids activities. Clean pool and patio area for hanging out and cooling off. Gravel sites are level and easy to pull into. Sites are spacious and give you plenty of room to set up all your gear. The bathhouse is kept very clean and has plenty of room to get cleaned up after a long day of camping. Surrounded by mountains, the scenery is excellent as well. Playground and outdoor games for the kids with smooth asphalt roads for bike riding. If you need it, there is plenty of shopping nearby within just a short drive. It seems pretty evenly divided between available rental spaces and spaces that are privately owned - many of the privately owned spaces are landscaped and hardscaped. In addition, there are cabins available to rent (this seems unusual to me, but perhaps normal for RV parks?) From my observations on the day we visited, the park was clean and very well maintained - grass and shrubs neatly trimmed. The park has good amenities, including swimming pools and a fitness center...there's also a fairly large clubhouse available to use for special events, but as we didn't go in, I can't speak to the facilities or condition of interior. River Vista is dog friendly, and has an off-leash space for the puppers to play. The location of the park is it's biggest asset - right in the north Georgia mountains so the scenery is beautiful. It's only a few minutes from Dillard, so it's convenient to some local shopping, grocery stores and restaurants. The family members we visited have stayed here multiple times and rate it as one of their favorite places to stay.

I usually try to stay in "affiliated" campgrounds whenever possible because they have to maintain a certain level of professionalism and caring for their service. Other times I go on line and try to get reservations in places that show up well in their web sites. This is not always satisfying, as there are many web sites that are much nicer than their actual grounds. This has happened to me a few times as I'm sure it has happened to you if you spend any amount of time traveling, I can say without fear of contradiction that this campground is a "diamond in the rough." It is in a pretty spot and managed by a fellow who absolutely goes out of his way to ensure that this campground and the folks who stay here are more than happy that they came here. Rick is the manager and he is nothing short of OUTSTANDING in the way he does his job. To be perfectly honest, there are not enough stars for me to light up when it comes to rating this campground. If you are fortunate to find yourself rv-ing in this incredibly beautiful part of our country, then try to get a spot here. I am certain that you will be more than pleased.

Located a short distance from Blue Ridge, GA right off of US-76, it provides easy access to the Blue Ridge/Ellijay area, as well as the Blairsville area. The park sits on a ridge overlooking the north Georgia mountains, with amazing sunset views. Back-in sites 1-4 and 11-15 provide the most direct view behind your RV. Sites 5-10 are pull-throughs and while not directly on the rim (map attached), are staggered to provide a nice view of the mountains to the West. Everyone we've met was nice and accommodating. Views of beautiful tall trees…read more The sites are very spacious on large gravel surrounded by green grass that run all along the creek where you can dip your feet in, throw in a line, observe the Ducks and Blue Heron or just listen to the serene sound of the water. It also is a short drive to many activities should you choose. A short drive to the quaint town of Murphy for vintage shopping, wine tasting, brewery and plenty of places to grab a bite. We highly recommend the fried pickles at Chevelle's! Owners, Jon and Eileen are so welcoming and always available if needed. New bathroom/showers will be finished by Spring 2024. We will be back in Spring!
