The owner helped me and my friend with an absolute disaster of a situation without missing a beat. He is incredibly kind!!!!! The lodge is super fun- one night had a country singer that was stellar. Huge fire pit outside. Nice ambiance. The campsites are spacious and private. We are already planing a trip next year and hopefully we won't end up being a PITA to the owner again

According to our rafting guide) Owners just bought the place, and we will no doubt be back. Small lodge, cabins and rustic. Sites wide open and by a stream for tent camping and a few RV sites with water and electricity only... for now. I'd expect upgrades as the community continues to support local owned small businesses. The lodge has a bar, usually has food (during non covid times) and a pool table. You can enjoy a bonfire with the owners or just chill with your family. The area is beautiful, 5 minutes from phenomenal rafting and 25 minutes from the cute up and coming downtown Clayton. The comfort station was clean, stocked with some basic necessities in case you forgot yours. This was a great hidden gem

WiFi sucks, but the guy who took us to our sight went and got a loaner router from the office and helped hook it up. Office, clubhouse, pool area and facilities were all very nice and new. The pads are concrete are fairly level. The bad Or original site was someone's driveway. There was a tree overgrowing the driveway on the same side I had to back that made it a challenge to get into the sight. Once in the tree dropped crap all over our toad. The view from our right side window was the side of the building who's driveway we had parked in. My awning almost touched the building and there was very little room outside of our door. The WiFi here didn't work, nor did the cable connection for the tv. They did move us at our request to another open sight. So if you're planning on coming here you have to specifically ask if you're going to be in someone's driveway, because they won't offer that information and the site map doesn't show which lots have buildings on them. If you're looking for peace and quite, this is not the place for you. There is ongoing constructing between the heavy equipment clearing the property for more sites, or the constant banging of people repairing or having new permanent units worked on. Overpriced at $70.00 a day plus extra to be on the creek. We found a much nicer, quieter place in Hiawasee for 35.00 a night with riverfront sights at no extra cost. There's a reason for the 30 day cancellation notice. We tried to get out of our second week to go somewhere else, but they wouldn't allow it. Needless to say, we won't be back. The ugly There was nothing I would rate as ugly here. Just not the place for us ever again.

Tallulah Gorge State Park is a 2,689-acre Georgia state park adjacent to Tallulah Falls, Georgia,…read morealong the county line between Rabun and Habersham Counties. The park surrounds Tallulah Gorge, a 1,000-foot deep gorge formed by the action of the Tallulah River, which runs along the floor of the gorge. Service options here are picnic tables available, has barbecue grill and it's dogs friendly. One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern U.S., Tallulah Gorge is two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks, or they can obtain a permit to hike to the gorge floor (100 per day, not available during water releases). A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, providing spectacular views of the river and waterfalls. $5 parking fee or an Annual ParkPass is required for each vehicle. The park offers a range of trails, from easy rim walks to the more challenging trek down into the gorge floor. Permits are required for gorge floor access, but the effort is well worth it as you can get up close to the waterfalls, including the famous Hurricane Falls. Approximately 2 miles, round-trip Mulched with metal stairs, Rated difficult. This trail has a total of 1,099 stairs (including staircase to gorge floor). Please do not attempt this trail if you have any known health condition. The North and South Rim Trails consist of 3 miles round- trip which will take approximately 2 hours to hike. It is a mulched trail with exposed roots that is a leisurely walk. From the Interpretive Center there is a recycled rubber tire trail that accesses Overlooks 2 and 3. Overall had a great experience.

There is almost a museum quality to the taxidermy animal scene they have in the middle of the room and along the walls. Truly a special visit! The hike to see the inspirational point and the swinging bridge wasn't too strenuous for my 4 or 5 year old for people's reference when considering it. We are an active family who hikes etc. There were a lot of warnings but we found it wasn't as bad as it seemed.

Other changes - they said that there is not someone working after hours, so check in may be a little different if you come in late. We never had a problem or needed anything, so it didn't affect us at all. Looked like a campground host was still on hand and had firewood available for purchase. Our trip for next summer is already booked!
