    View from our room, Amazing!

My fiancé surprised me this past weekend with a get-away trip here. Upon arriving, the place looked unusual and very different from what I'm accustomed to when we're taking leisure trips. Wow! Amazing place!! Both of the hosts/owners, Hiram and Matthew, were SO kind, knowledgeable, attentive to us. They were a wealth of knowledge when it came to our desires to see the many sites in the area. They ensured our dietary wants were adhered to for our breakfasts and our to-go lunches. Fantastic views, food, and the grounds are to be found here at this gem of a resort. I was a little apprehensive to their "minimalistic" thinking when it came to no TV, internet, and phones- but that's such a great idea today!!! We need to get away from those mind numbing things we do daily and recharge ourselves, it was awesome! Can you tell I loved this place?? These gentlemen are awesome, I can't thank them enough for such a great weekend!!! Would I recommend this place? YES!!! Absolutely!! It's a rarity to find GOOD people who actually care and take what they do professionally, yet are still grounded.

This is the deck after having dinner - simply beautiful

I rarely have been as excited as I was when I found this place mostly because of Yelp. I was reserving my husband and my anniversary weekend trip. The reviews and pictures looked perfect. I reserved a cabin for privacy (again Yelp reviews). Ok; cut to the chase... I was seriously disappointed. It was nothing like I was expecting. The cabin was more like staying with my mom in a Fairfield Glade cabin with aluminum foil on the stove burners, (not lying on that). Here in lies the rub... I have stayed at Fairfield Glade for that price- what Fire Mountain is charging is for something completely different. I paid for lovely, pampered, special and what I got was typical state park accommodations. I'm not hating on more practical accommodations; I have done primitive camping (2 nights is all I can do primitively), and everything in between. The cabins are not lovely, the room with the Jacuzzi tub was more like a place that you would clean a hog or a deer or something. It is in a walled room all by itself - the tube is deep set in the floor (put the lotion on the body). Weird, not romantic not even rustic, just weird and creepy. The 2 stars is for the restaurant outdoor space; which was breathtaking. (I should of slept on that deck). I have posted a picture. I would reserve dinner at their restaurant, it is way way overpriced, but it is the only time you get the feeling of a special time away.

A little mountain paradise! Matthew and Hiram are a delight, the views are magnificent, the rooms and cabins are truly lovely, and the food is delicious. There are wonderful trails (with excellent birding) and Highlands is a very short drive away. For a place so conveniently located to both Asheville and Atlanta, you really feel like you're a world away when you're at the inn. Can't recommend this place enough!

The cabins have wood burning fireplaces to cozy up to.

This was the second year in a row my husband and I celebrated our anniversary weekend at Fire Mountain Inn. It's only a short drive from Atlanta and you really feel like you're a world away. It is so peaceful and relaxing there and the views are amazing. This year we stayed in a cabin (Galax) and loved how comfortable, private and cozy it was. We spent most of our time in front of the wood-burning fireplace. Matthew and Hiram are the most gracious hosts. We will be back next year can't wait!

Fire mountain is an exquisite boutique-style resort that provides the perfect getaway in a gorgeous remote location. I would highly recommend it for individuals or couples needing an escape from routine to relax and recharge. The owners, Hiram and Mathew, are warm and welcoming and take great pride in ensuring 100% satisfaction with your stay. The pictures and accommodation descriptions on their website are accurate with no need for exaggeration or misrepresentation. They request notification of an arrival time so they can have someone ready to greet you and give a very informative break down of the property and surrounding areas. We were greeted by Hiram and the information he included was extremely helpful for us throughout our stay. He explained everything available to us on the property as well as recommendations for offsite dining and activities. Breakfast was included in the package we chose at booking and it was AMAZING! Mathew is an extraordinary chef who prepares gourmet meals that will have you in absolute awe. This resort is quiet and I would not recommend it for families with small children as the peaceful environment is one that cannot fully be appreciated by youth. My partner and I have a teenager and a toddler and very demanding jobs back home so this romantic getaway was truly one for the books. We didn't know how much we were in need of such a routine detox until we arrived and both agreed we should make this a yearly tradition. I cannot wait to return to the breathtaking views and complete serenity of Fire Mountain.

If you're looking for a tranquil getaway to Black Mountain, The Inn on Mill Creek will far exceed…read moreyour expectations. Our stay here was perfect in every aspect! My daughters and I went for a fun girl's weekend, and we now plan to return every year! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The owners, Dave and Brigette, are kind, considerate, and easy to talk with. Our room was beautiful and clean, with plush bedding. The breakfast served each morning was absolutely wonderful. We have several food allergies in our family and Dave and Brigette made us feel unburdensome! They made (from scratch) gluten-free peach bread and Dutch babies, along with eggs, sausage, and fresh fruit. Dave and Brigette went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. They recommended the best local attractions and shared many friendly conversations. Their genuine care for guests shined through. We are planning to return each year as a new family tradition.

Surrounded by buildings and a very close walk to the Downtown Highlands Shopping and Restaurant Area and only a 2 minute walk to the Old Edwards Inn, this place is a TRUE hidden gem! There's even a breakfast/lunch cafe ( Blue Bike Cafe ), Hair Salon and Pet Spa on site. The room we had was so bright, pretty and newly renovated....it was as big as a beautiful one bedroom apt and the whole place was recently remodeled and decorated and the owners paid attention to every detail....fireplace, furniture, BIG modern shower, little refrigerator, the SOFT bedding and even the towels smelled nice. I hated to share this place on Yelp because we know eventually The Inn at Creekside is going to be found out and we sure hope our little find will be available when we go for our Mountain getaways!
