    Happy hour roll.

My bestie brought me here for my birthday, and we had a great meal. Our server was friendly and efficient, and there when we needed or wanted anything. It was early evening, so we were some of the only people in the place, but I know it gets crowded later. We started with crab rangoon and spritzers. The filling in the crab rangoon was excellent; I just wish the dumplings themselves were hotter. Followed that with a basic ginger salad-just lettuce and a good ginger dressing. Our rolls is where they shined, though. We shared 2: the Red Devil and the Gronk. The Red Devil was great with a bit of a kick, but the Gronk was my favorite; just a winning combo of yellowtail, krab & cucumber topped with tuna, yellowtail, eel sauce, spicy mayo, tempura chips and roe. Delicious! Dessert was going to be had later in the evening, so all in all a very fun meal.

Ordered takeout from here via UberEats. There was a BOGO promo, so we ordered the spicy crunchy salmon roll and tuna fresh roll. The crunchy salmon roll was not bad but the tuna fresh roll was interesting. They used a rice paper for the roll instead of seaweed. I would have preferred seaweed. Next time, I will probably need to try out other rolls since the ones I tried weren't extra special or tasty. The takeout window was pretty busy but food was ready fast. Can't speak for the ambiance since we didn't eat there in person.

My favorite sushi in Tampa! The staff makes you feel like family. I like sitting at the sushi bar watching them prepare sushi and sashimi platters like works of art. The menu items from the kitchen are equally good.

Yummy! Went to this place on a Wednesday afternoon and it was packed. While it took awhile to get our food, the server constantly checked on us - making up for our wait time. We got the Negamaki to start and it was delicious! For our rolls here's my take: - Lobster Roll: 10/10 might've been my favorite roll! It was light and refreshing and had a vastly different flavor than the rest of our rolls. The greens in it provided the perfect crunch. - Candy Cane: 7/10 this was my least favorite roll however it was my dads favorite - Red Devil: 10/10 I'd rank this one 2nd or third. It wasn't anything too fancy but again refreshing - Kiss of Fire: 10/10 This is tied with the lobster roll for my favorite. It was spicy and sour almost from the jalapeño. It has a strong citrus flavor that sets it apart from many rolls I've tried in the past. Overall the quality of the sushi here is amazing! The only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 is the ambiance. It smelt a little funny in the restaurant and was nothing special on the inside. Would 100% get take out here again!

Our server Tracy was friendly and attentive. This place was packed for a Thursday night, so I highly recommend making a reservation. It's not fancy, which I like the low key vibes. No roll is here over $20 so it is extremely reasonable. The food was delicious. My only complaint is that the miso soup was mainly broth with little tofu and seaweed- good flavor though. Beer, wine, and sake available. Excellent meal.

The worst California roll I've ever had. They use 1/2 the amount of "crab meat" and very brown/black avocado.

I'm very disappointed in Yokos. The last several times I've gone there, they have skimped on ingredients. I've ordered several special rolls in the past, but this time was the worst for a most basic roll. I felt I needed to write a review. I took my daughter and got a California and volcano roll. The avocado was black in both rolls. I couldn't give this to her. It looked like eel and wasn't even green. I'd be embarrassed to have served avocado that bad. They did make a new one for her after I pointed it out. This roll and all of the other rolls in past have also been cheaply made, using 1/2 the amount of ingredients than other local Japanese places in tampa. I can't believe I'm saying that Publix serves better basic rolls than Yokos. Go to Izakaya Tori, Ninja or Soho Sushi instead. The salmon teriyaki was excellent and properly prepared. I only give Yoko 2 stars because our server was so sweet.

I have been eating at Yoko's for years. It is my go to sushi restaurant! The staff is amazing and they treat their regulars like family! I ate there a week ago and had some of the most incredible food!! The chefs will accommodate any requests and palate!

Solid sushi joint tucked away in South Tampa. Their happy hour specials are fantastic -- $2 off glasses of wine and $2 off specialty rolls! I got the Red Devil roll and it was delicious. Only beer wine and sake, no cocktails. Lots of great options to choose from for food and excited to come back to try their other rolls.

It is a small restaurant so the atmosphere is very bustling -- I liked it though. Definitely expect a wait of at least 25-30 minutes, but once you sit down and order, your food comes out really fast! FOOD: Mentaiko Fries 10/10 -- Delicious! Definitely my #1 recommendation here. Krab Special Salad 6/10 -- You taste more mayo than anything. Shiso Rangoon (n/a) -- No rating because I didn't try any. Just keep in mind that the rangoon is wrapped in shiso leaves and it's tempura styled. It's not in the pictures since we ordered it later on. My friend liked it though. Takoyaki (n/a) -- I never tried it but my friend who loves takoyaki said it tasted really good. Katsu Curry 8/10 -- The rice to katsu ratio is upsetting because the curry sauce is soo good. BBQ Eel on Rice (n/a) -- My friends entree. She liked it enough to say she would get it again the next time she comes. Kimchi Cream Udon (n/a) -- Two of my friends ordered this entree. One enjoyed it and the other one couldn't finish it because she got sick of eating it. Said it tasted too "fatty", needs more seasoning (?). However both felt queasy on the ride home.

The BBQ chicken is super flavorful, the katsu is crispy and cooked right, and the poke is fresh and easy to customize. The spam musubi is a must too, simple but really well done. Everyone there is genuinely kind and welcoming. You can tell they actually care about their customers, and it makes a big difference. Pro tip: if you want to try a little bit of everything, get the 3 musubi combo. You get katsu, regular, and Hawaiian BBQ chicken which is a perfect variety without committing to full plates. The macaroni salad was good, but I wish it had a bit more texture (maybe some celery for crunch?). It was also a little heavy on the mayo for my taste. Portions are HUGE. One entrée could easily feed two people. Each plate comes with two big scoops of rice, so come hungry or be ready for leftovers. Prices are very reasonable, especially for how much food you get. The staff were super friendly, and the decor is cute. Just a heads up, seating is limited inside (a couple tables for 4 and a couple for 2). There's outdoor seating too, but it's not always shaded depending on the time of day. The chicken katsu was my favorite. It was super juicy with a crispy breading, and the soy flavors really came through. Overall, I'd definitely come back!

We started with a lychee martini and a beer, and that lychee martini was SO good, sweet, strong, and honestly one of the highlights of the night. We also got the edamame. It wasn't my favorite since I usually prefer a more classic seasoning, but it was still fine and not a big deal at all. For our main dishes, we had the chicken fried rice and the steak with eggs and potatoes, and both were delicious. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked really well. The atmosphere was gorgeous, service was great, and since it was right after Mother's Day, they surprised all the moms with a rose and complimentary ice cream, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. It honestly made the experience even more memorable for my mom. The only small downside of the night was that they only had three baby high chairs available, which made it a little tricky since there were families there, but other than that, everything was amazing. Overall, definitely recommend this place if you're in Tampa; great food, amazing drinks, beautiful ambiance, and a really special experience all around.

We actually found this gem right here on Yelp -- and wow, did it deliver. We arrived right at 5 PM when they opened for dinner. The hostess asked if we had a reservation (we didn't), but graciously offered us seats at the bar with the understanding that we could wrap up by 5:45 due to a 6:00 reservation. Totally reasonable -- and honestly, more than enough time for us to enjoy every bite. We kicked things off with the crab rangoon (6-8 pieces, but who's counting?). They came out hot and crispy with that perfectly warm, cheesy center. We devoured them in record time. Absolute must-try. Now let's talk sushi. Everything that hit our table was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. I ordered the Bluzilla Roll and let me tell you... PERFECTION. Each bite was balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. I was genuinely sad when I realized I had eaten my last piece -- that kind of sad where you consider ordering it all over again. The restaurant itself is small, but it's the details for me -- attentive service, thoughtful presentation, and quality that speaks for itself. To put it bluntly, this was lower quality than most grocery store sushi -- and I've genuinely had much better sushi from grocery stores. The only things I enjoyed were the edamame and the matcha, which are both fairly simple to prepare. Even then, the tea we ordered was borderline cold. As for the sushi itself, everyone at our table had the same issues: the rice was hard and dried out, there was far too much rice, and the pieces were so oversized that they were difficult to eat in one bite. The flavor overall was disappointing, and nobody at our table finished their sushi because it was simply not enjoyable. The ambiance also felt off. There was very limited seating -- just two tables cramped into a corner -- and the surrounding area felt somewhat sketchy when we arrived. In terms of service, the staff were friendly, but inattentive. We repeatedly had to ask for basic things: silverware, soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger should have been provided with the sushi without prompting. Overall, I'm sorry to say this was a very disappointing experience and not somewhere I would return to or recommend.
