Today I got the dragon roll from here and it was tasty but I got really bad food poisoning a couple hours after eating. I currently still don't feel good and can't keep anything down. Also my boyfriend went to pick up the food and said the cashier had attitude and wasn't nice. Hopefully this review can help the restaurant be more aware of cross contamination and more smiles from their employees. 8/16/22 Getting lunch! Poke Bowl and Red Dragon Roll ordered. The worker said it would be ready in 15 min. I went in to get it. Not real kind or welcoming service, but hopefully the food will be good! It was just called that it was made & handed over shortly after walking in. Paid for the order and left. Restaurant is nice. Low key. Lunchtime! Order split. 1/2 of the poke bowl was fresh and tasty! 1/2 of the Red Dragon Roll was delicious! They included wasabi that added and nice, spicy kick! Mother felt the same! Should have known this place was going to have poor customer service when two ladies were waiting for a while for their food. After placing my order the manager and the girl up front got my order. This place is great! It's definitely really far from me so I don't know the next time I'll come back but if you live in Reedley or frequent the area this place is a good little spot. Prices are reasonable, food is good. The beef was so tender even reheated!! The chicken was good but not as good as the beef, and the meat bowls didn't have veggies in it so kinda disappointed there. Maybe you can ask for it? Just know it's not included. Their poki seemed kind of plain too but I didn't get to try it. This is my favorite lunch spot! It's about a 15 minute drive from my job but its totally work it. The Poke bowls are my favorite! If you don't like seafood I recommend you get the Chicken Stir Fry, it's very good. read more

Stopped by for a quick dinner after being indecisive about where to eat in Reedley. We chose Yoi because there weren't many bodies inside but the food was decent. All the plates were combos which means they had a side of tempura veggies, salad and white rice. I had the sesame chicken which was a fried chicken cutlet with Teriyaki sauce on it and I though it was pretty good. My wife had the teriyaki chicken and wasn't to happy with it because the chicken was a little dry and tough to eat. All in all, I'd say the food was decent, quick and taste great for the price. I've tried this place two times and have had two bad experiences . First time was a month ago, I ordered a poke bowl and it was just salmon with rice, that's it. Very disappointing. Second time was tonight. I ordered chicken wings and salmon bowl with salad base. I waited over 30 minutes and watched two customers that ordered after me get their food before me. It came with a nicely prepared and perfect size strip of salmon with a light teriyaki sauce. Also included were rice, tempura veggies, and a small side salad. All in all for the reasonable price it was quite good. Tried Yoi for the first time eve after living in Reedley for over 10 years: This nondescript smaller venue brings a a big city cuisine to a rural area and that's saying a lot! Yoi brings Japanese cuisine to life with their fresh product, presentation and style to an area of the Central Valley that doesn't always have much to choose from restaurant variety-wise. Where has this place been hiding! We ordered two of the chicken combination dinners and were pleasantly surprised: Chicken was grilled, perfectly cooked and had a real nice texture and flavor while the white rice, salad and tempura vegetables were a nice mix of four veggies. The dollop of potato salad on the salad is a nice touch; the vinaigrette dressing is done well. After a few bites, we decided they're the best Japanese restaurant in between the Fresno Metropolitan area and Visalia. We'll be back to try more! read more

The food is okay. I have seen their menu prices go up a lot over the past 6 years and it's not really worth it for what you are paying. Their miso soup used to be 1.50 and now it's a little over $2 and super salty too. Their sushi rolls are OKAY but it's just not as good as I expected for the price they are charged at. Service is good at this place though so far from my experience a couple of other times people in this place see customers coming in but don't bother greeting them and just ask what they want or ignore them for a couple minutes until going up to the counter and taking their order. read more

Everything but the sushi is good here. Love the bowls. Simple and easy lunch. The don buri bowls come stir fried served with steamed veggies, which I appreciate. The sushi is how the photos look. Tbh, it's too much rice. Some times, depending on the roll you get, they put too much sauce to where all you taste is the sauce. Since there's only 2 sushi places here in Reedley if you don't count the Chinese buffets, I guess if you're desperately itching for some sushi it'll help with that fix. **MUST LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS BEFORE EATING HERE OR EVEN ORDERING TO GO** I started a new job in Reedley and decided to eat out for my first day on the job to explore the town. I wanted to keep it safe so I searched for Asian food nearby and stumbled across this place. It's really hard to f#ck up simple chicken over rice with sauce, right?? When I arrived around 11am on a Monday, 2/20/23, first thing I noticed was there was no one out front to greet me or acknowledge I was there,.. all you can here was really loud Hispanic music blasting from the kitchen and a lot of loud conversations from who I assumed to be the employees who work there. I waited at the front desk by the cashier and made eye contact with the waitress, I smiled and waited, she continued to ignore me and continue her conversation with all 3 people in the kitchen. There were no other customers in the restaurant and nobody on the phone. She finally came out and asked how she could help me; I ordered a spicy tuna roll for starters and then a simple teriyaki chicken bowl to follow, I had my own bottled water with me. She asked if I wanted it for here or to-go, I kindly replied I'd like to eat it here, she then asked, "Are you sure?," in which I replied, "Yes, ...it is OK to eat here right?" she just said, "OK anything else?" wow, alright, clear signs that I probably should have already walked out but I was already 12 minutes into my 30 minute lunch so I decided to just stick it out, worst case I can take my food to go. She went ahead and rung me up to which I though was weird because if you're eating there, you normally don't get asked for money until you've been given your food and "service." I can then pay for it after I'm able to enjoy my meal. Being a good citizen, I went ahead and paid them to save time. Being the only customer dining in and noticing how they were not busy at all, I figured my food would come out pretty quick, I was wrong again, 15 minutes went by and I didn't get the oh-so-easy to make spicy tuna roll I asked for. 25 minutes go by as I continue to periodically make eye contact with the workers giving them the, "where the f#ck is my food," look. While I waited, another customer came in mad to return an order because it was not the sushi roll she ordered. They didn't even acknowledge their mistake or apologize, she just said, "Oh, we'll make the right one, it'll be ready in 15 minutes." Another 5 minutes go by and i see my chicken bowl at the pickup window. The waitress resumed playing on her cell phone turned away from my food. I walked up to the front desk and asked nicely if my food was ready and she said it will be right up, in which I asked (pointing) if THAT was my food, she laughed and said, "oh, here you go." I kindly asked if the spicy tuna roll was ready and she looked confused as if I didn't order one to begin with, ... my jaw was about to drop at this point but I was hungry so I asked for it to be packaged up to-go when ready and I'll go ahead and eat the chicken bowl now. When she stuck her head in the window, i hear one of the cooks say, "he ordered a spicy tuna roll?" I'm not sure why they ask if you want it for here or to-go when all the food is in TO-GO containers anyway! That question would make more sense if the food was going to be prepared differently but if it's just a matter of putting it in a bag or not, you don't need to ask until it's ready. The chicken bowl is in a plastic bowl, it was just missing the lid, and of course when my spicy tuna roll showed up (which was the most ugly, loose, too much hot long-grain (not short-grain) un-marinated/seasoned rice - the rice was cooking the minced tuna inside the roll) she brought it out to me on a plastic serving tray even though I specifically asked for it to be packaged to go. I reminded her and without saying a word she left it at my table, came back with the lid for both the sushi and chicken bowl and just dropped it off. WTH is going on here? Is everyone hungover or drunk here? Do they treat all their customer like this? Is it because I look like a Japanese guy ordering Japanese food at this restaurant that they think it's OK to not give AF about the minimum practice of customer service? I will NEVER return and don't recommend this place to anyone who is even remotely used to the way any decent restaurant should operate - you will be so disappointed. Chicken was overcooked, teriyaki sauce has cornstarch chunks in it, don't even get me started on the sushi roll. I should have checked yelp before even considering ordering sushi here, you can clearly see in the pictures it's gas station grade at best - and who wants gas station sushi, let alone gas-station level customer service and hospitality... read more

The sushi is over priced considering it is all rice. The teriyaki bowls are just alright.

Always a quick place to pick up some Japanese. We like the poke bowls and every one of their rolls. Prices are great.

What can I say? Reedley has more options than most towns of similar size, and less options than somewhere like Fresno, obviously. That being said, great spot for this town. Sushi, Stir-fry, various bowls meat / rice, poke bowls. The teriyaki bowls are a great value, Poke Bowls are limited and small but good quality fish! The tempura is good standard tempura. The sushi is however quite bland (I don't really count off too much for this as it's not billed as a "sushi" resturant). All-in-all this is a great spot! read more
