I feel like I have to do this now while it is still fresh in my memory. I have never experienced such different Chinese food before. It's not a good different either. As I entered CGE it was packed and a line was almost out the door so I figured the food would be delicious. I glanced at the menu and knew I had to order a la carte, but then I saw a special for a 2 item for much cheaper. I asked the guy that helped me if I could get the two item without the rice or chow neon because I only wanted a small portion. He said no and I told him he could charge me the same just not give me the carbs. Any who after refusing again to give me what I wanted I opted for the two a la cart items which came out to a bit over $10. I was like "well whatever I'll just make it last two meals because the smalls were huge in portion anyway." I sat down to eat and at first I was thinking it was decent, but as I took a few more bites I realized how sweet tasting and gooey it tasted. I couldn't eat anymore and actually threw the rest away because I couldn't even imagine feeding it to my kids or having to eat it again. It wasn't good at all and to make matters worse it didn't sit well in my stomach. Sad to say this place is a no go for me. read more

I'll break this down into 3 categories. 1. Service: Very friendly, fast-paced, professional. 2. Food: The place just opened and to be honest, the food was a little cold. The pork was chewy. Over all it was OKAY. 3. Presentation: restaurant was clean. Ample space. My only issue is the way the food is served. Despite ordering in, my 2 item combo was c crammed into a styrofoam container. Before you go make sure you bring your mask. They won't allow anyone in without a mask, which I think is great. Currently there is also no indoor sitting. The service was great. What would you like and is that all. Simple and efficient. The food was alright. Had the chicken jalapeño, mushroom, and orange. All we're great. Cooked properly. However, I'm all about the noodles, and the noodles were the worst fast Chinese I've ever had. They were bland. It lacked a lot of flavor. My first time here and the employees ruined it for me. I wasn't too sure on how to order so when I did the employee said "what do you mean?" Instead of trying to help me. I ordered 3 entrees and the third one goes in a little container and she started waving the cup at me instead of using her voice and communicating. I get you're trying to be fast as it gets busy but if I'm not being rude to you, there's no need for that unnecessary crap. Find better employees that have a smile on their face and willing to help instead of "what do you mean?" And basically rushing me past because the length of the line. If you love Chinese food you'll love this place! They have many different options of rice and sides. When they serve you food, they pack it till where it won't close they aren't shy or stingy with how much they put on your plate. They always treat you nicely when taling your order. We went to this restaurant yesterday at noon. I ordered the Mongolian beef from the menu. I asked for modifications to this order and they were very accommodating! I didn't want it spicy at all and wanted a lot of vegetables. I got lots of stir fried onions and peppers along with the juicy beef. Perfect! To my delight, it was delicious and exactly what I wanted! I put it on top to steamed rice. Yum. I got so much, that I shared it with my elderly mom and my husband and I ate it for dinner! read more

Tried this place once, and it will be my last. The food here is not very good. The things I ordered were very mushy. The chow mein was way over cooked. The orange chicken was very soggy and stuck together in one big pile, and the broccoli in the broccoli beef was way to mushy. The fried rice had no flavor and was dry. They've been stuffing way more rice and chow mein into the to-go containers lately, so you get less of your preferred items and more of the cheaper filler items. This is my favorite place to go . They have big portions and they are fast. I go once a week basically. Also the staff is really nice. Even their drinks are huge. Worse "Chinese" Food I have ever had! My family and I decided to try China Garden Express since my wife heard from a friend that they had really good soup. We ordered Wor Won Ton noodle soup, Orange Chicken, Chow Mein, green beans & steamed rice. The soup was just OK; nothing special. My daughter told me the orange chicken tasted "funny". I tried it and it tasted OK, but there was little chicken and a lot of batter. The chow mein was just pan fried noodles and bean sprouts; not even a sliver of meat. There response was that the amounts have changed from 3 Yrs ago and don't care that we charge them different. Ok, china garden EXPRESS...express in chinese means buffet, i forgot. so dial down your expectations...this is fast food chinese. as fast food chinese goes every bit as good (though not the variety) of its nation wide competitor also an express. Clean place, friendly staff, wanted fried shrimp but only available as extra side dish so went with the express plate..a two item one at that. there were 6-8 entrees to choose from and rice or noodles. i combod the rice and noodles, went with two item kung po chicken and sweet and sour pork. good overall. looking for more snap in the noodles but hey, remember express! they were ok with good mix of vegs. not sure if rice was supposed to be vegetarian...but it was....nice amount of egg and misc...rice was pretty tasty stuff...but no meat of any kind that i could tell. entrees were both pretty tasty as well. the kung po chicken had as advertised kick...the pork was really good also with a nice mix of vegs.... all this for 5.75 and instant! not a massive plate, but filling and a little bit left for the dog who loved it all. if in reedley and want some fast and pretty tasty chinese food give them a try....you could do way, way worse! read more
