Our client is completing a 19-stop road tour across North America, and catering has been arranged at each location. Without question, the Fresno stop was the most impressive by far. Since our client is an Italian company--with several members of leadership traveling from Italy for the event--serving authentic Italian cuisine made a tremendous impact. It truly resonated with them. Chef Mauro was outstanding! He prepared everything on-site, bringing an authentic experience to the event. He was also the only caterer to provide real plates and flatware, which elevated the presentation and overall experience. From the quality of the food to the professionalism of the setup, everything far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend! read more

Mauro was an amazing guy to work with all throughout the 6 month planning process of our wedding. He gave us lots of advice, knew exactly what we needed for our situation, and was so flexible and easy to work with. He had such a large assortment of amazing food to choose from in all categories, all of which are are affordable. His Peruvian chicken, salmon, and Japanese stir fry were all spot on for our wedding. I liked how he shared his experience at other events with us and was transparent and open about prices. I would totally recommend this man to cater any event you could have~. read more

Oh my goodness, I literally needed a caterer a month before my wedding and star catering happened to be available they went to the my wedding venue all the way in Carmel and they were so professional so prepared they had all of the China pieces available. All of the glass were available. They provided water tea and coffee they even also include dessert. They are a one stop shop! They had bartenders available, servers, and Mauro is basically a wedding/event coordinator! Wow! I literally couldn't have picked a better cater for my wedding. Everything turned out so delicious and professional! May god bless your beautiful company! read more

Did an amazing job at my wedding and I will be happily recommending to all my family and friends for any of their future events. Kept in communication the whole time and worked with our budget and did everything we asked plus more. He made the entire process so easy and gave great recommendations while also working with what we wanted. Received so many compliments from guests about how good all the food was and just cannot express how appreciative I am for his help in making my wedding a success. 10/10 5 stars ! read more

To quote Martin Short from Father of the Bride, "Mauro is a genius!". My wife, our guests and I loved the food offerings for our wedding and he was able to cater to my wife's dietary restrictions. It was a great collaboration, we felt Mauro was able to cater to our desires while also offering great ideas we used from his expertise. His team was very professional and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious and our guests an us left the wedding full and satisified feeling we had the best wedding food ever! read more

Mauro, who owns and operates Star Catering, was awesome from our initial conversations regarding catering our wedding to a flawless execution. As my now husband and I live rather far from the Fresno area it was often tough to coordinate with our vendors, but Mauro was always super accommodating. He went above and beyond with a tasting, despite a busy schedule and was great with menu recommendations. His prices are reasonable, service options were exactly what we were looking for, and most importantly, the food was amazing. All of our guests have said how much they enjoyed everything from appetizers and dinner to an ice cream dessert. He even cut up and served our cake which was a nice touch. And we were happy to learn that he packed us up the leftovers which my husband and I devoured over the next couple of days. Thank you so much Mauro and team for helping us celebrate our special day! read more

Star Catering agreed to cater our wedding after our original caterer unfortunately was not able to pull through about a month and a half or so before the wedding. Mario and his team did a great job serving up burgers for our backyard wedding and we got a lot of positive feedback about the food from our guests. Star Catering does require the full amount paid a week in advance. This was not a problem for us, but some people could be uncomfortable with that. Luckily Mario and his team provided a wonderful service, would recommend! read more

We are so thankful to Star Catering staff and Mauro! We planned our wedding for the last 2 years because of COVID and Mauro was our last vendor to seal the deal! We come from a large family who are big on food and well let's just say, the plates were wiped clean. 10/10 in every area! The staff was so helpful and a pleasure to work with! The lumpia appetizers and Porcetta we had were amazing ! Mauro is very professional and easy to work with! We were given the option to try our menu prior to final selection which was so helpful! Star catering also provided our chinaware and glasses! We included bar services with our dinner and that was also perfect on every level! Our families enjoyed the dance floor on full bellies and tasty drinks! Thank you so much again for devoting your weekend to serve our families , HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you're a couple or someone searching for amazing food and creating a custom menu ! Mario was so amazing to work with. He catered for our wedding this past May and it was better than we could have imagined! He is so personal and worked one on one with us to create the most perfect, personalized menu. Him and his staff even provided bartending for an amazing price. Food can either make or break a wedding, and Mario's catering company definitely helped make our wedding! We would recommend him and his staff over and over again! read more

Mario and Star Catering did an outstanding job catering for our wedding reception. Working on a one month notice, Mario reassured me that I have nothing to worry about and that everything will be taken care of. He delivered, as promised. Providing his professional guidance along the way. The food was amazing, especially the juicy pork. Everybody enjoyed everything. The staff was extremely helpful in organizing, service, and cleaning up. It's obvious that this is more than just a job for Mario, this is his life and passion. 10/10. read more

Let me start by saying. Mario went above and beyond with all he did for my family, my husband, and myself. My wedding was held at the top of a hill at my family's lemon orchard, on a day that I honestly believed would not have rain! Haha, funny, we had hail and snow!!! But that didn't stop Mario from being there for me and ensuring me that he'd make this meal happen, and make sure it was the best thing I could ask for. He really brought me to tears with how much he cared and wanted to make this a magical night for me. His food, mm mm mm, delicious!!! I absolutely loved the menu he put together for me, everything was crafted so well and met all my expectations. I will recommend his service to EVERYONE I know getting married and or having an event they need catered. He had so many options for the different types of dishes I could choose, and different dietary restrictions. Honestly, just an amazing night. Thank you again. read more

Wow. Just wow. We were SO impressed with Star Catering for our wedding. We live 5 hours north from the Clovis area and got married in a remote location on the side of the river, so they had their work cut out for them! We put together a unique menu (one of the mains was a Cuban mojo style porchetta) and they came through and created amazing food. I had people coming up to me the next morning, raving about the food, asking about the sauces, everyone just loved the food. But even though the food was fantastic, we were blown away at the service. We got married on a beach by the river. There was no running water, no electricity, setting up on sand, an hour into the hills of the Sierra Nevada. It made our planning a lot easier since Star Catering was a "one-stop shop" for our wedding. They took care of all the tables, chairs, utensils, napkins, plates, glassware, linens, staff, and setup. The staff was very professional, but also seemed relaxed. We recommend Mario and his staff so much we're looking for reasons to have another event in the Fresno area! read more

I contacted Mauro because my husband and I were looking for unique good food for our wedding. We didn't like any of the catering companies in the Valley because you had to choose from a set list of generic (lame) food. Our first meeting with Mauro we sat down and dreamed up food that we like eating which is a mixture of everything and lots of Asian influences. Since my husband is Chinese we wanted that incorporated somewhat. We also don't love cake and since Mauro did pastries we asked for a trio of pastries for our wedding instead. So we planned the menu and did a tasting closer to the wedding. Based on the tasting we changed up 2 of the dishes for the wedding. Our menu was appetizers of chicken satay skewers, egg rolls, and fried cheese cubes. Buffet of beef brochettes, bulgogi pork loin, dirty rice, garlic veggies, beef tortellini in butter sauce, mixed salad and bread. Passed dessert trio of Venetian cake, coconut custard puff, and a mango fruit tart. We worked back and forth a lot with Mauro and sometimes it wasn't the most clear communication, especially about the changing costs of things. But we got through it. I also asked for him to add tea, hot chocolate packets and apple cider for our toasts onto the menu. Then my husband really wanted a small little cake just for cutting pictures. Mauro said we could do that but it ended up adding a bit of money onto the bill that I wish we knew about before. But he made it pretty for us and that's all it was needed for. We also were able to rent our linens through expo event rental using Mauro's name which really helped. He delivered those the day before so we could set up in advance. Mauro also brings his own drinks, plates, cups and utensils which was hard to find with any other caterers. An extra detail is that he prints up the menu for the tables to read! Because of the pandemic the buffet required everyone to wear gloves so they wouldn't touch things that he provided. On the day of it was very windy and I heard they had trouble getting the fires to stay lit. His staff were very sweet and brought us fresh appetizers after we returned from photos. Even with that they were able to get our food ready just a little late. He hand carved the pork loin for the guests and it was delicious, everyone loved the pork. I loved the rice which was like mushroom risotto and the coconut cream puff was fabulous! My husbands favorite was the mango tart and the really delicious veggies (not bland watery steamed veggies!). His staff also perfectly timed the apple cider pours for the toasts after dinner. Our only 2 complaints were that the beef was very hard to chew and the Venetian cake on the trio was not the flavors we were expecting. He really did A LOT for us and worked hard making it beautiful and flow. I'm really glad we had good unique food and got to have input in every item of the food. Mauro is a personality that shined at the reception. It was difficult sometimes to get the correct information from Mauro in the time frames given. I would have to ask many times and in the end it cost a little more than we originally discussed which for these reasons I give 4 stars. But with all that he did, we are glad we chose him for our wedding. read more

The food was on time and FANTASTIC. I had a very large baby shower and there was more than enough food, and people went back for seconds, thirds and forths. Really great taste and not skimpy on the portions at all. I highly recommend Star Caterering read more

Mario is a busy guy but for all the right reasons. He truly delivers top notch service from the food down to all of the professional servers. Him and his team are amazing! Everyone at our company's annual holiday party was raving about the great food. We suffered from budget constraints this year and he was able to work with us. Only thing I heard was suffering was the bread rolls being a bit on the hard/rough side but that was it. I highly recommend him. Please be a bit patient with him (again, he's a busy guy and answers all of customers' inquiries himself); he will make sure to thoroughly communicate with you all the way up until the event. He informed me that he also does private parties and BBQ catering, etc. so I will definitely be using him in the upcoming future! You will not be disappointed, I promise! read more

Mario and his staff over at Star Catering made our wedding a hit! Mario is like the uncle you never had, but always needed. He was so helpful in picking items for our menu and had so many recommendations for pairings. When we had our own vision as to what we wanted for our appetizers he was very understanding and more than happy to make any changes we needed. The dinner was AMAZING. Mario definitely made it so that we were stress free all while providing excellent service and superb tasting meals. Although at first pricing may catch you a little off guard, I promise you it's worth every penny. Portion sizes are huge and every body will love it. We were blown away by the level of quality & service Star Catering provided for our wedding! It made a logistically difficult event relatively simple, and the patience and professionalism of your staff was amazing. We were married in a remote area on the side of the Kings River above Pine Flat Resevoir with no electricity or running water. He brought everything needed for an amazing reception. For what we received the price was very affordable. Thank you so very much for working with us, you truly made our day perfect. We had been hopeful to use Star Catering for our wedding but we ended up needing to use another catering service. While Mario was very personable and his food was good, from a business management standpoint the experience was awful. It took nearly 4 months to get a proposal to know if it would fit our budget and we were constantly emailing asking for it. They kept asking us for the same information and losing their notes, emailed our proposal to the wrong people and were not prepared for our tasting with the items we had discussed. And once we finally did receive our proposal, it was almost $2000 over our discussed budget and had no details on how the cost was broken down. It was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I would have given it 1 star but as I said, the food itself tasted good. I hope in the future they can pull it together. read more

If you are looking for a caterer, Star Catering is the best!!!! I would hire Mario and his staff again. They catered my wedding last weekend and they were amazing!!! From the food, to setting up, cake cutting, and cleaning up they were very polite and personable. Mario is the best, he works with your budget and he will go above and beyond to make your event run smoothly. He scrambled around the Thursday before the wedding and not only found us tents because it was suppose to be raining, thunderstorms. He had them delivered and set up on Thursday. We got some many compliments on the food and service. Thank you so much Mario and Staff. read more

We hired Mario and his staff to cater our wedding of 175 people in May, and he did an AMAZING job! We had tasted food from other catering companies before trying out Mario's and there was no comparison. People are still talking about how great the food was and how it didn't taste like normal 'catering' or 'wedding' food, but how it tasted like food from a fancy restaurant without the fancy price. It was DELICIOUS! Besides the food being great, Mario and his staff were extremely professional. They attended to all of the details. From cutting the cake, serving the champagne and cider, to even handling all of our table, chairs, linen, and tent rentals. Mario took a lot of pressure off of us by doing this. After we told him something once, he remembered it. I can't imagine what our day would have been like without him. He made our day better than we even imagined it could be! read more

Mario also provide bar service for us and his bartenders we're also professionals and got along great with our guest. We also did appetizers and that was great too. We booked Star for our wedding in Reedley, and had not had an opportunity to try their food prior to our big day. We were able to select a menu of our own, and even be pretty specific about entre and beverage choices. His prices were very fair for our event. Mario, the owner, not only made the whole experience very comfortable, but when he and his staff showed up they set up like they knew the venue we selected like it was their own. This I saying a lot, when we tell you we got married at a campground. All of his staff was perfectly delightful, and the menu they prepared for us could not have been better. The catering options in this area are limited, and we spoke to several vendors who made it clear they really were not about customer service. Mario and his staff could not be a better choice in the Fresno area. If you have an event and book anyone else, I am sorry to say you booked the wrong company. Mario, thank you for making our wedding night perfect! We have gotten tons of compliments from all of our guests. Well done! read more

Star Catering did a superb job catering our daughter's wedding at the Kings River Winery last night. Mario was so professional and easy to work with from the moment we contacted him. We met twice prior to the wedding, he brought us a huge amount of food to sample and unlike Jam M, we received the contract proposal in an extremely timely fashion. The price per person was very reasonable for what we ordered and he provided china, linens and all of the other things we would have to get on our own. His staff is very efficient and the food was served on time. He even added extra touches not included in the proposal. We received nothing but compliments about the food and serving staff and would not hesitate one second before calling him to cater another event. read more

We had a party and Star Catering did a great job. They had professional staff at a great price. We will use again.

People seriously cannot stop talking about the food at our wedding. No rubbery chicken or cookie cutter menu here! Mario took the time to listen to our preferences and vision for our dream day. He knew we wanted a rustic, hearty meal with vegetarian options, along with a taste of Denmark. Not only did Mario independently research Danish meatballs, sausage, and pickled red cabbage -- he experimented with his own recipes until he absolutely nailed the authentic dishes. He even went above and beyond by suggesting Scandinavian twists on classic American dishes -- like homemade ice cream drizzled with ligonberry syrup. AND he tracked down Danish beer for the bar, which turned out to be a daunting task. Mario told us he likes to hit the ball out of the park for his clients, and he certainly did! Appetizers, entrees, sides, dessert, bar service -- everything was perfect! And his staff, the servers, were lovely and professional. We met with a few other caterers before we found Mario, and I can tell you assuredly: while others will charge you an arm and a leg, Mario will give you his heart. You will share the most delicious meal with your family and friends, and everyone will not only taste the perfectly crafted flavors, but also experience the passion that Mario puts into each of his dishes. And then later you can use all the thousands of dollars you will have saved on catering expenses for your honeymoon! read more
