I was very disappointed with this catering company. When we tasted the food at the food tasting, it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing!!!! So I was super excited for my wedding dinner because I was so confident everyone would love the food. Come to my surprise, I had multiple people approach me on my WEDDING NIGHT to let me know that their chicken was DRY and their seasonal veggies were burnt and tasted old. I'm very upset because this catering company charges a lot for their service and they delivered disappointing meals to my guests. Also, we paid extra money for extra plates just to have in case more people showed up, which they did. The catering was closing up 30 min earlier than what they said they would and a big tray of chicken breast and sides was wasted and seconds was never announced which they promised they would do. I wouldn't recommend this catering company unless you want to risk bad food and service. read more

I have nothing to say but GREAT things about this catering business. We booked them for our November 2020 wedding reception and farewell breakfast for our dream wedding weekend in Yosemite that was unfortunately cancelled due to the Pandemic. Canceling our wedding was a logistical and financial nightmare but Classic Catering gave us a full refund of our deposit, which they didn't have to do since we signed a contract. We will be forever appreciative of their generosity and kindness towards us. Before canceling our wedding, we did get to come in for our tasting and the food was INCREDIBLE!!!! When we went for the testing, the food was great and we were excited about the food on our big day. When the big day came, a few guests said that they didn't receive their steak with chicken(was a tad dry) but instead received double chicken because they said they were out, but there should've been enough since some guests didn't show up and the final plate count was already submitted. read more

Came here for the annual Boys & Girls Club Gala and was really impressed with the venue, food, and overall atmosphere! Classic catering hosted the event and they did an amazing job! The staff the servers they were very attentive and made sure you had everything you needed. The venue was perfect for business meetings or a business event or even birthday parties, bridal showers, etc, etc lol. Classic Catering at 625 catered our wedding in Oakhurst in April 2022. It was a great experience, from all the planning help and patience from Andrea, to the excellent set-up and service, to the generous portions and great taste. Of all the things people loved about the event, the food was what got us the most comments and compliments. In comparison to other quotes, they were also the most affordable, even with travel from Clovis to Oakhurst. Our menu was sirloin with pistachio sauce, portobello mushrooms with pesto (for vegan guests), green beans almandine (amazing!), and garlic parmesan mashed potatoes (wonderful) with salad and bread. Was very disappointed with the food at my wedding. It was not the same as what we tasted when we did our food tasting. We had seasonal vegetables, and the vegetables weren't the same as what we tried during our tasting (which we didn't understand, because our tasting was in June and our wedding was in June, so the same veggies should've been in season). The portions were very small, and when our wedding guests asked if they could have extra, they were denied and told that there was only enough for the people at each table (which we also didn't understand, because we had about 15 guests not show up, so their food should've been available). It makes us wonder if the workers ate our extra food that we paid for? For the amount of money that we paid for the catering, we were very disappointed with the outcome. Maybe we should've done it buffet style so the guests had more control of their portion sizes? (It also cost $5 extra per person to have a seated dinner, which definitely wasn't worth it. Wish we would've done the buffet style and saved money.) It was also very difficult for us to get in touch with the caterer to review our contract/give the final head count. They never answered when I called, even during their regular business hours, so we had to resort to emailing. Once I even had to go through our wedding coordinator in order to contact them. My only good comment is that the workers were very polite. And our hors d'oeuvres (fruit/cheese) were great. The guests really enjoyed those. read more

Right from the start they were so kind and put my mind at ease; It was easy to communicate with them. Their food was great and everything was going well up until the point where I tried calling for a whole week and no one will pick up their phone. I emailed their representative and a week went by and I still had no response. Our wedding venue recommended them so I had to go thru them to try to reach Classic Catering . Our Venue was able to reach them and they finally called my back saying they were booked already !!!!! Why didn't anyone answer the phone for a week ? Do they have caller id? Perfect size venue for a small to medium wedding. We had about 115 guests. It has a cool kinda modern/metro look. Nice lighting and good color scheme choices (they rent napkins/tablecloths). Started the reception with a fruit/cheese/cracker combo. We decided on a sit down dinner with a choice of pecan crusted salmon or chicken marsala. Spinach salad to start. Sides were mashed potatoes and green beans. EVERYTHING was delicious! Not your everyday tasteless catering food. They even made accommodations for a vegetarian guest by adding a pasta dish for her. The service was prompt and friendly. They let us come in early that morning to start decorating. The owner is very sweet and easy to work with. The whole night went as planned without any mistakes. Classic catering was a preferred vendor for our wedding venue. We had nothing but a good experience with them from our very first engagement. We loved working with Erin, who was endlessly enthusiastic and helpful. They were very accommodating of our change requests as we planned (Erin must have sent us over a dozen different quotes - each quickly produced). They were very flexible with us as we added several hours of bartending and a late night snack to our contract. On the day of, all of the staff were very friendly and well prepared. The entire setup, serving, and cleanup went smoothly. I used classic catering for my wedding. They came to my location and were very pleasant to work with. It was an out door event in November. The serving staff was extremely professional and went above and beyond, dispite the 40 degree temperature outside. The food was delivered just as described and was delicious. Leading up to the event I stopped in several times, un- announced, each time I was met with smiles and an eagerness to answer all my questions. If I had to do it all over again I would have held the event at the 625 location and enjoyed the open space with dance floor and a heater. We utilized Classic Catering for our wedding. I will say first that I really believe that the staff was very professional and was great at serving the dinner course. They also made some accommodations for our guests with food allergies. I will say the chicken dinner was good, just served cold. There were quite a few things we were disappointed by. First, one of our appetizer choices were burned. And then all the dinner food was relatively cold, including mine which the bridal party received first. We also paid for an upgrade including a filet and it was really tough, chewy, and there was nothing but a butter knife to cut it. I dont even believe my husband finished it, and two individuals of my bridal party sent theirs back and asked for the vegetarian. The rice that we tried at the tasting tasted great, the rice I had was a bit crispy. WIth all that said when I addressed it after the wedding, they did apologize and tried to remedy on a small scale by refunding the appetizer but I did decline because I actually just wanted them to take into consideration my feedback without thinking I was doing it for financial gain. I am not saying they are a bad service, just clarify along the way some of the problems I encountered for the future. (Also this could be an east coast thing, but if your going to offer baby wieners as an appetizer please supply ketchup or mustard!) read more

I have been looking for a caterer for my wedding, and Classic catering came highly recommended by several friends, so I went to their booth at the Bridal Expo to go over packages and pricing. The representative I spoke to there was kind and attentive, and seemed to genuinely care about making my wedding great. I left with the full intent to hire them. Unfortunately, that is where my positive experience ended. I called 5-6 times over the course of the last two weeks asking to set up a consultation. Even though I always called during their posted business hours, no one answered or responded to the messages I left. No calls back. Finally, this morning I was able to reach someone. I asked about a consultation and was told that they are only available from Tuesday through Friday 9-5. I explained that I, like most people worked during these times and asked if there was a way to make an appointment for an evening or weekend and was told no. This all turned out to be moot however. The person I spoke to asked my wedding date and I told her it was New Year's Eve this year. I had already told this to their representative at the Bridal Show, and specifically asked if that would be a problem. He had assured me it would be fine, but the person I spoke to today told me that they don't work holidays. I asked if there was anything we could do to work together, and even offered to come and pick up the food the day prior. I was then put on hold and told that the owner and executive chef, who apparently couldn't deign to speak to me herself, thought that my picking up the food wouldn't meet their standard of quality (but refusing to find a way a to serve a paying customer is a-ok). The worst part is that they didn't even bother with basic politeness or show any interest in customer service. Something as simple as "Im sorry we won't be able to work with you on your wedding day, but we hope it's great. Please consider us for showers or rehearsals." would have gone a long way. Classic Catering did my wedding about a week ago. The food was good, buffet setup orderly and everyone is very nice and professional, however, a few things about the event fell apart. We were told the bridal party would be served dinner at their table (this did not happen). It was explained to us that guests would walk through the buffet line and get served their food by attendants from behind the table (this also didn't happen). As a consequence, Classic Catering ran out of chicken for the dinner service. An entire table at our wedding did not receive their dinner and we were completely let down to hear about this. For a catering company, I figure Rule#1 is...don't run out of food! Very disappointed. read more

Classic Catering came out to my wedding venue site at CrU Winery in Madera for our summer wedding. We worked via email with Giness on the pricing and food. My husband and I are vege/pescatarian so we wanted to represent that at our wedding. Giness came up with a great menu to suit us. Salmon with capers, a vegetarian pasta, rice pilaf, mixed breads, and the standard ice tea and water. This came out to $21.95/adult and $10.95/child under 10. This included enough linens for all the tables, napkins, the labor to set everything up and take everything down. We also provided our own kegs and hired one of their bartenders for $20/hour. They work with Best Rentals in Clovis so if there is anything needed (like wine glasses or chairs), they will get it and bring the items and not up-charge for it. Extra costs to consider - tax, gratuity, and delivery. Also an extra charge if you use credit cards versus cash or check. After selecting the menu, we asked for a tasting to make sure it was what we envisioned. We made an appointment and came in and it was like lunch for two! I really didn't expect a full meal out of it, but that's what they served us. They do have a wide variety of linens to choose from. Some are fancier and more expensive than others. If it's early in the game for your planning, I suggest bringing a camera and snapping a picture of the color choices to decide on later. Employees came on time and everything went well. The only complaint was that the bartender disappeared for a while later in the evening (smoke break?) and people were attempting to serve themselves beer. We got many compliments on the food. Which is great since I think the majority of guests are used to have a beef or chicken option at a wedding. I think the only main disappointment we had was that we had so much food left over but it was disposed of at the end of the night. When we did our tasting lunch, we spoke to someone (Dani?) who said if we brought coolers and ice, we would be able to take the food home. This was a mistake to say to us because after we asked about what happened to the food, Giness made it clear that food is disposed of, especially fish. And it is stated so on the contract. So do your headcount carefully! read more

We had our event offsite at a local winery and I was a little worried about making sure food stayed warm and fresh for our guests. Everything went so much better than we could have imagined! Our wedding started at 5:30 so Classic a Catering came out at 4:00 to make sure everything was set up before guests arrived. They were on time and professional, something we very much appreciated. We had about 150 guests and served a seated/plated meal of tri tip and artichoke wine chicken. All of our guests were served quickly and the food was hot - we had so many compliments on the food. The staff was so helpful, polite, and professional. They did a great job of pouring champagne for our toasts and serving cake to our guests. We have been to several weddings that Classic Catering catered and the food has always been good therefore we hired them to cater our daughter's wedding. I have no complaints about the food, it was very good, but the bar service was just absolutely lame. I blame it on pure laziness of the bartenders. The rest of my family was drinking beer so never asked for red wine. I asked for red wine at 8:30 in the evening and was told there is no red wine. Umm, yes there is. When I finally lifted the skirt around their table there sat 4 cases of red wine unopened, literally right next to the white wine and the champagne. Unbelievable! One of the bartenders actually told me it wasn't her fault and that no one told her. I'm not sure what she was supposed to be told. Open those cases of red wine? Also, the weather was very hot and you would think that when you were handing someone a beer you would actually reach down into the ice to hand them a cold one. Apparently, that took too much effort as she took a luke warm beer right off the top to hand to a guest. I did call Classic Catering to voice my great disappointment in their bar service. You would think they would comp the cost of the red wine, but no. They wanted me to get a receipt so they could buy the wine from me. No. The wine was special ordered by a sommelier friend and I'm not selling the wine to Classic Catering just so their staff can have some good wine to drink. So, food was very good, bar service was pathetic. If you hire bar service, make sure you check up on what is going on at the bar. I'm so sorry I didn't. read more

I don't even regularly review on this website, as you can tell this is my first review but I just had to make an account on here to review Classic Catering to share how wonderful they are. This company is AMAZING and the best decision we made for our wedding on August 6th of 2011.The food was delicious, hot, and the guests LOVED everything. We chose the Mushroom chicken with the white wine sauce as well as the Sirloin, accompanied by red garlic mashed potatoes and summer vegetables. Everything from the hor's devours to the bread and butter was fantastic. I have to mention the staff which I, as well as our guests were blown away by. They are the most friendliest, attentive, and professional staff I have ever met. This is HUGE if you are looking for a catering company. Most others that I have seen at other weddings drone around looking bored and barely doing there job. This is not the case for the staff from Classic Catering, there was never an empty pitcher on the table, an empty glass, or plates stacked up anywhere. The staff was calmly walking around and removing plates, offering seconds, all while talking and interacting with the the guests. I am beyond impressed with this company because not only did they provide outstanding service and food, they de-stressed me on my wedding day. They were there EARLIER then I asked and already setting things up for me when I got there. I cannot express how much that was a relief to me, knowing that they were already taking care of the chairs, table's and table cloths. Giness, is an absolute sweetheart and is fabulous at her job. I left all kinds of things unfinished because I had to run to my hair appointment and when I got back, things were PERFECT. I had nothing to worry about.
