Delicious! Stopped in for some food after the Aikman experience. It was pretty busy, but since it was just two of us we were seated fairly quickly. We were going to order off the menu, but our server said the kitchen was busy and she suggested we get the buffet and since my daughter is 3 she was free. We had lunch pricing which was $12.99. We each had a piece of broasted chicken ( the best chicken) l, corn, green beans, pickled beets, and ice cream for dessert. I also had some strawberry rhubarb cobbler/crisp ( omg it was amazing. Wish I could have taken some to go). My daughter loved the apple butter and peanut butter sauce as well so naturally we got one of each to go. I would love to come here and try some other items. I'm sure everything is absolutely delicious. Buffet was great and I recommend. I wish Yoder's was closer than 2.5 hours haha. read more

Everything is delicious! I have visited numerous times and the staff is very friendly and food is always great!

Wow... what a wonderful buffet and menu to choose from. Can't beat Yoder's for a grandma's type home cooked meal. Follow it up with a piece of awesome pie made with love in their kitchen's for a treat you will come back for time and time again. read more

What a wonderful Amish buffet! We will stop here at least once whenever we are in the area. While waiting for a table, there is an interesting gift and bake shop to spend time in. Wait staff attentive. Restaurant very clean. Excellent value, too! read more

I used to love coming here growing up in central, Illinois. Unfortunately, my last 2 experiences within the last year have changed my mind. The food is mediocre at best (besides the Amish peanut butter - that never disappoints). The buffet is what most go for, but the hot food isn't hot and doesn't have much flavor. The salad bar is just okay, and The dessert (I tried a cobbler) was not the greatest. This place has turned very touristy, which is great for the owners, but not for a quality dining experience. We were sat in a side room right next to dish room which made for a loud lunch with servers quickly passing by with arms full of dirty dishes to look at majority of the time. read more

Yoder's is a must any time we visit Arthur. Delicious home cooking, wonderful staff, and family atmosphere.

This place was SO good!!! We stopped by on our way to Chicago and it was so good we stopped back by on our way home!! The pot roast sandwich was fantastic and I highly recommend it!! The vegetables were all fresh and good! The only sad thing was both days they were sold out of their baked goods!! read more

Best food in town and so friendly. We will be back and thank you!! The deserts and buffet were so good!!

This place is like many Amish style restaurants throughout the Midwest. Full menu and a great buffet. They have daily lunch and dinner specials. The multiple dining areas are spacious and of course all wooden furniture. The staff is friendly and efficient. Checked on us multiple times throughout our meal. There is also a full dessert menu. We of course had the homemade Dutch apple pie. There is also a gift shop that has many gifts and baked goods for sale. Get there early if you want fresh homemade donuts and cakes. There are also homemade peanut butter and jams. There is plenty of private parking. This place has something for everyone. Plan on dining here when you visit the shops of downtown Arthur. read more

Did you know there was an Amish country in Illinois? I hadn't. But when I found it, about 40 minutes drive south of Champaign-Urbana, I knew I would also find one of those enormous Amish businesses, spreading over vast acres, incorporating gift shops and bakeries as well as a restaurant with rooms upon rooms of seating. And this was it. On a Friday, wait was about 15 minutes when I arrived at 11.30, and up to 25-30 when I left an hour later. An Elvis impersonator (white jumpsuit Elvis) was working the lobby, shaking hands with everyone. I don't think he belonged to the restaurant. There's a menu, serving much the same food as on the buffet, so why not get the buffet? I lived on the broasted chicken, which is lightly fried and very light and tender, and the fish, which is cooked the same way and even better. Those are basically responsible for my high rating. There's lots of starch to go with, but little in the way of veggies: green beans and baked beans was about it. A bit surprising in farm country. Also a salad table and a dessert table with four desserts, of which I had apple crisp. read more

This is a must try if you are in the Arthur area. It is a buffet full of delicious Amish style comfort food. It's very different than other restaurants in that it's pretty casual and old-timey. The buffet itself isn't too large but there's still good variety; they also have a salad bar. The food is amazing! I had three plates including dessert. Their fried chicken was one of my favorites, the rest of my party loves the pasta as well. In terms of dessert, I loved all their cakes. However, what really stuck out to me was the Amish peanut butter on the table. It was delicious! I regret not buying a bottle of that stuff. read more

Country fried steak - excellent. Horseshoe with chicken strip - No. There were no chicken "strips", only a few small cubes of chicken. Not sure if maybe they just ran out of strips? Maybe ground beef is the better way to go. Corn bites - meh. Pies - excellent. Would definitely go again. Recommend: a definite yes. read more

Went to Yoder's yesterday my brother took me for my birthday and my mother. The chicken is outstanding. Potatoes are good. Green beans and bacon very good very good. But the rest on the hot buffet was no it was not very thorough.. Our waitress was so so . And I had to ask for more Sweet tea . It's really not a very welcoming place everybody's kind of is everybody's kind of down faced or stray faced didn't see a lot of smiling or laughing. Nobody in the gift shop willing to help.I don't know but I love Arthur I would certainly live there really quaint town. read more

Food was plentiful but very bland. The best item was the fried chicken which was very crispy and more flavorful

Horrible waitresses you always have to get up and get your own stuff and they never wear gloves and it's always the same old pie nothing ever changes and they need to clean off the tables and chairs better along with the menus you can tell the waitresses don't like to be there if they don't like their job and for the life of me I don't know why there's a fireplace in there it's never lit it's just time to say goodbye and move on I won't support a business like this anymore just RUDE !! read more

We were traveling and saw a lot of vehicles in their parking lot, which can be a sign of good food or great advertising. I can only assume that it was both. We had the buffet to take in the local charm and we were not disappointed. The food was great and often replenished, but it was the soups and salad that won our attention. The chicken was fantastic and their desserts were (even the sugar free selection) delectable. Try the table condiments as they really go well on the freshly made bread. Delicious! read more

This is a delicious restaurant that serves Amish style food. The restaurant it's self is huge! Lots of seating and those seats were filled with happy people enjoying quality food and company. They offer a menu and also have a very descent buffet. The mash potatoes were incredible! The buffet featured comfort foods Such as fried chicken, green beans with bacon, a delicious chicken casserole, chicken and noodles, and fried fish. It also had a really good salad section on it. I got to try some yummy salads and made a simple lettuce salad that was out of this world! My nephew loved the ice cream machine. I don't know if they always have strawberry ice cream or if it was just because of Strawberry Jam festival that was going on in downtown. He enjoyed creating the ultimate ice cream sundae! I think he liked eating it almost as much. read more

The overall feel of the place is what I would call, early American or Colonial. Lots of wood, natural lighting, (in the main dining area at least), clean and nice, country style decor. You should anticipate a wait, especially so if you hit the normal meal hours. The time waiting can be spent by either grabbing one of the local to-do brochures which are in the main entry (and free), or browse through the well stocked gift shop. The menu itself is simple American fair, or you can elect to go with the buffet, which is small when compared to big-box buffet places, but you can be sure the food here is of much higher quality. Since I've been here on several occasions, I've ordered from the menu and also went with the buffet. In either case, I was very satisfied. The wait staff is very friendly and tentative. My drink never got empty and she checked up on us periodically just to be sure all was well. All the food that I have had here was of good quality, very fresh and clearly made from scratch. The breakfast sausage was really good, the plate sized cinnamon bun plastered with a rich, creamy toping was really good. The chicken, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, roles, sweet potatoes, dinner roles are "all" outstanding. Oh... and I forgot the ham, that too is extremely good ! On the buffet, during lunch, on two occasions there is a red, strawberry looking compote, I don't know exactly what it is, but let me tell you, it is really, really good. I found it spread out on a dinner role very well and then I popped in a few pieces of chicken and it was heavenly. At the table, you'll also see two jars. One is peanut butter spread and the other is apple butter. The peanut butter is clearly a natural variety, and it is pretty good. I'm probably going to pick up a bottle of this the next time I go there. As for the apple butter, I'm finding this spread is a local favorite with each placing having their own take on it. To date, I've not really cared for the taste, however I must say, the Yoder's Kitchen variety was pretty good. Not something I would go craving for, but I would certainly place it out on my kitchen table for others to enjoy. I'll definitely be coming back here again ! Next time however I need to remember to grab a bottle of the peanut butter and apple butter. read more

If you ever find yourself in Amish country do not pass up an opportunity to eat; this goes well for Yoder's Kitchen in Arthur. It is American comfort food, unbutton your top pants button and let yourself get comfortable. The food isn't Michelin quality but there is plenty of it and it is tasty. The hospitality is genuine and the gift store needs to be perused. I picked up some homemade jam, so good I ration myself. Yoder's may be off the beaten path but hitting Amish country is a great way to pass away a lazy Saturday. read more

Great family restaurant. Very large on the inside so you never feel cramped. They have a menu you can order off off or you get the buffet. They have a salad bar and a main food bar. Lots to choose from. The waitresses bring you bread that you can eat at the table. They have homemade apple butter and homemade peanut butter to put on it. Very delicious. read more

Yoder's serves homey, delicious, comfortable, predictable Amish food with friendly service. You can choose between the very popular buffet or al a carte service. There is absolutely no sight, hint or smell of anything remotely spicy on the buffet; no hot sauce on the table, no frou frou olive oil dip. What you get is salt AND pepper. Yet the food is very exciting to me. Partly because there is nothing else worth mentioning food-wise in this part of middle Illinois. But Yoder's really prepares their food with care and heart. The broasted (fried) chicken is always tender and juicy; the casseroles are warm and welcoming like those church potlucks of my childhood. Their peanut butter and marshmallow spread and fresh homemade bread has a real following, too. So yes, although I enjoy every kinda exotic food, I still look forward to lunch at Yoder's when I am in this part of Illinois. It is a must try! read more

Really good buffet, just a smaller selection compared to most buffets. The food here though is A1. Dined with a group of nine and everyone thought the food was great. Their fried chicken was amazing. Some of the most palatable chicken liver I've ever had! Soups and salads were fresh. Servers were nice and appropriately attentive. read more

My husband and I are from Los Angeles and were visiting Monticello, IL with his parents. They were kind enough to treat us for dinner at Yoder's. The place is cute, decor is warm and welcoming, servers were polite, and the food was great! We had fried chicken (salty, but great), green beans and corn (both were very sweet and equally good), as well as other sides from the buffet. Everyone loved their desserts, which ranged from a spice/cinnamon type of cake, to brownies, to soft serve, to cobbler. The gift shop is adorable! I brought a small pumpkin loaf and a pack of Amish chocolate chip cookies back for my coworkers. The cookies are as real as it gets. You can pretty much taste the butter and brown sugar inside. I could have easily purchased every food item in the gift shop since everything was delicious. So, stop by Yoder's if you're in the area. It's worth the drive. :) read more

Hands down the best fried chicken I have ever had. I have always wanted to go back, but because of Covid19, my son took the rest if his courses online and finished his masters from home. So sadly I never made my way there again. One day, when I wake up and want to drive, I will drive to Arthur, Il just for Yoders. They are about 220 miles from home. read more

We went on a Wednesday late afternoon, around 4:00 pm. The chicken on the buffet was not crisp at all. It looked like it had sat there for quite some time. The green beans were not seasoned. Tasted like they were straight out of a can. A little onion and beef broth goes a long way...they may want to try it. Same with corn, tasted like it came straight out of a can, no seasoning at all. The mashed potatoes were a bit runny for our liking. The chicken pot pie came out and was hot and tasty though. The desserts were hard, maybe sat out too long uncover. The pumpkin ice cream was different and enjoyable. Many people were taking their used plates up to the buffet instead of getting a clean one. Not one employee reminded them to get a clean plate, although several had to witness this had occurred. Hard not to notice when you are using a rag out of bucket of water to wipe down the buffet tables (main, dessert and ice cream areas). How often/long had that water been used? Not the best experience and was truly looking forward to an "amish" style meal. read more

Haven't been here probably 10 years or more but mighty disappointed, their food choices are slim for the buffet as well as desserts. No longer have yeast rolls, but they bring you a slice of bread. Their price is $18.33 for buffer which is an extreme price for what they have. Probably won't return. read more

The only reason I'm not giving five stars on this is because our dinner wasn't that fabulous. It was the breakfast the next morning that really blew me away. First, dinner. We didn't get the buffet, but ordered off the menu. The meats were over salted, and the veggies over cooked. Breakfast was by far the most amazing. Besides their decadent Cinna-Swirls that are to die for, I had their Amish Haystack. A tender, flakey, freshly baked biscuit, hash browns cooked just right (crunch), chopped ham, eggs, topped with a scrumptious Sausage Gravy, and then cheese on top of that. It was an amazing meal, and my arteries are still complaining. Ask for Connie's section. She is fabulous! read more

Yoder's is the place to eat when in this rather quaint Amish community of Arthur,IL. We went for early morning breakfast on a weekday last month, so it was a nice, quiet time to go. I had the cheese omelet and a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, and I think my total was just under the $6 mark which was reasonable. The cheese in my omelet was thick homemade cheddar; I could tell. It was really rich and not your everyday omelet. The bowl of biscuits and gravy was a pretty large serving and needed a little black pepper to jazz it up. Our server was really nice and attentive. The gift shop is a must for the ladies in your group. People rave about the homemade jams, jellies and pastries. I really liked Yoder's and would gladly make the drive in the future. read more

Ah. Yoder's. You fulfilled the expectations I had and more. I love comfort food so this place hit the spot! There were a ton of people waiting but we were seated in less than 15 minutes. The buffet offers some typical comfort food like green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and some items like spaghetti, noodles with chicken, rice and cheese, fried chicken, pork ribs, and turkey. I noticed they had a salad line if you fancy that too (lol... I will check that out next time...). For dessert they have a variety of cobblers, brownie, cakes, rice krispie treats and soft serve ice cream. By this point I felt like I'd implode but it was so worth it to try the ice cream and treats. Highly recommend! And they have Amish peanut butter (which is peanut butter with marshmallow fluff) to spread on the fresh baked bread they serve. This one is so creamy and yummy! You can buy some on your way out if you want. read more

First of all I want to start off by saying we came here in the busiest day of the year- The day Arthur has its fireworks. We were told there would be a 40 minute wait, but it ended only being 20 minutes. The restaurant was packed but I was impressed how quickly everything moved. The restaurant is big but on these days the towns' population triples because of the fireworks. There wasn't a big variety of food, but the food that they had was delicious! My favorite were the red spaghettis and the fried chicken. The food kept coming and there was always fresh food for us. They also have the Amish peanut butter which was really good, I recommend people to buy a bottle to go! The price of the restaurant was also pretty reasonable. Great experience and well worth it! read more

Love this place!! Really good food, and wonderful staff! The Apple butter is amazing!

The buffet was amazing! The food is very good and the chicken is awesome! The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted wonderful as well. They may not have a lot on their buffet, but it is worth the $10 plus $2 for a drink. The deserts are amazing as well such as the sugar free cookies, ice cream, and many more small things. Our server, Missy, was very friendly and attentive to our group. I've read reviews on Yelp and Facebook about bad wait staff, but Missy was faaar beyond amazing! She took care of refilling our drinks, removing our plates, and quickly giving us our checks As far as the buffet goes, they do a fine darn job refilling the chicken, mashed potatoes, and other food quickly. Anyway, if you are in Arthur IL stop on by! You will NOT be disappointed! read more
