FLESOR'S IS AMAZING! This is the second time my father and I have been there for lunch in the last month. The owner is so kind and always makes sure to make everyone feel welcome! The staff is friendly and fun and the food is so good! The first time we went my dad had the fried catfish and this time he had the cod and he said it is the best fish he's ever had. Came here for the first time today because my mother in law highly recommended it. It's in a small town and was established in 1901. It's under construction but still up and running. The old school feel is such a cool experience to see and very nostalgic. The original soda and ice cream makers are still here! Food and staff were super friendly and will accommodate any requests. Step back into the "old days" that's part of the fun, however, man alive it's hit or miss on service and attitudes here! It's wonderful to support local and even better when it's generations run (obviously my opinion) but have mercy, the attitudes and rudeness of the gals in there at times is something atrocious! I will still support but not nearly as often. I hope the up coming generations realize people do business with people they like and when you treat people small, unkindly or get snippy with them it will end up costing you. Just be kind, smile and don't treat customers like they don't matter. Hope to see those changes and still support b/c it could be something even more special if openness was an option to better their service! What a pleasant afternoon spent at Flesor's. My parents had made the trip to Tuscola from Effingham several weeks prior and loved the food and atmosphere so much that they wanted to bring us. The woman working behind the candy counter caught wind that we were from Pittsburgh and kindly let us see in the back where the magic happens. Devon was so kind and welcoming - letting us see how the turtles are prepared back in the kitchen. I love that they are keeping the family tradition alive. This is the perfect place to stop for a home cooked breakfast/lunch. My Reuben was super tasty and so were the fries. The candy counter gal was super helpful when it came to picking out the perfect box of chocolates. I can't wait to visit again! What a great experience. read more

Flesor's Candy Kitchen is an old school diner in downtown Tuscola. If you have a sweet tooth or just want a quality burger while in downtown, Flesor's has you covered. They have a large selection of white, dark, milk chocolates, caramels, combos, truffles, and candied popcorn. We went in for a treat after an afternoon of shopping. I had an old school chocolate shake with fries and tasted my sisters cherry soda. It was all very delicious and hit the spot on a crummy day outside. Come on over to Tuscola and have a treat. My sisters boyfriend was from NYC and when they dropped off the bill he picked it up and his jaw dropped because of how great everything was, how nice the service was and how affordable the whole treat was. read more

The treats and candies are wonderful! The ambience has a sweet small town feel. The historic building is beautiful inside and does not disappoint. Booths with no padding, but very quaint. Friendly staff and owners. This place is wonderful for a coffee meet-up with friends. The food however, leaves much to be desired. If you happen to live nearby or are passing by Tuscola I recommend trying this little restaurant/candy shoppe. It's a nice old fashioned place complete with a old style soda maker. And let me tell you this place offers some old style soda - the kind of soda you could only have back in the 1950s or 60s. It's basically just syrup. Very tasty but very sweet. Definitely worth trying. They can custom make a bunch of varieties of flavors. They offer a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads and breakfast food. I had the steak sandwich and it was awesome. I stumbled upon Flesor's while visiting downtown Tuscola for tattoo sessions at Vintage Karma across the street. Long sessions make me hungry, and Flesor's does not disappoint! On my most recent visit, I tried the turkey bacon club sandwich. It was delicious and filling. I decided to try a 1/2 pound box of dark chocolate sea salt caramels. Absolutely yummy! What an adorable spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, you name it. Lucky I turned to yelp when I did for lunch during my roadtrip to Nashville through rural Illinois! I saw the menu and it seemed pretty basic American food/diner food. I got the cheeseburger with all the fixings and the boyfriend chose a turkey BLT. Looking at the pictures of the menu, I thought the prices must have been from at least a decade ago. But nope, that's just the old town feel and prices for most all the lunch prices were under $7! Couldn't believe it. Service was great even though they had a packed house (on a Thursday afternoon!). I would be happy to come back here to support this mom and pop shop whenever in the neighborhood. They also have an instagram worthy wall outside! On a Saturday morning at 10:45 my husband and I went to this restaurant for breakfast. They stop serving breakfast at 10 am. The coffee wasn't hot. We ordered clam chowder and it wasn't hot. I looked around for our server and she was no where in sight. I walked the soup to the door of the kitchen and asked if I could have the soup heated up. I was given a lecture by a young women in the kitchen that I needed to respect her kitchen and I should have told my server and the server would communicate with her. She was VERY nasty. We go to Tuscola at least a couple times a year for the outlet mall, but on our way today my husband had me look for an ice cream place, and we got to experience a little of the sweetness of downtown Tuscola. I love seeing little towns being brought back to life, and there's a lot of that going on here! We had already had lunch, unfortunately, so we didn't get to try any of the food. But we will be coming back for sandwiches next time we are in town! We sat at the counter and enjoyed the atmosphere and old-timey ambiance. My son totally loved his first ever ice cream soda (strawberry!) from the soda fountain, and the rest of us had phenomenal hand-dipped homemade ice cream. My teen daughters had lemon chiffon, my husband had red raspberry, and I had a very rich Paul's Pecan Favorite (turtle). They were all delicious. We had the loveliest conversations with the lady working the candy counter, and bought a few of the amazing homemade candies--caramels, peanut butter puddings, orange cream gummy bears, and cherry sours. The Candy kitchen is a one-of-kind, gem from your childhood place. We serve only the "good" stuff, or should I say the bad stuff (because it is bad for your health). Homemade everything here: Chocolate candies, brittle, nutty bark, coffee bark, caramel in all forms, nutty clusters, ice creams, sundaes, sodas, etc.! Our restaurant is a family owned business, one that has been in the family for three generations and reopened only recently about 10 years ago. Everything in the store is refurbished from its original proceedings way back in 1901. The store is the definition of endearing with a touch of romanticism. Breakfast begins at 6 and goes until 10; Our lunch is served from 11-3! We stay opened until 5. Our menu contains a variety of items ranging from a Gyro and Greek salad (the owners heritage) and a burger! The service is fast and we our proud of our place. Home is where the heart is.... I've eaten lunch here twice. Beyond cute interior--totally old fashioned and adorable. The menu is small but they have a home style feature every day if you don't want one of their regular sandwiches or salads and the prices are fantastic. I had the Reuben the first time and some amazing Greek lasagna thing that I can't spell or pronounce and the most enormous 'side' Greek salad for $6.95 the second time. Get a scoop of homemade ice cream for dessert. They'll serve it in a nostalgic little cup with a spoon that will remind you of your grandma. Or buy your weight in candy--you know, whatever floats your boat. I had mint chocolate chip and ate every bite and I'm not really an ice cream girl. Service is friendly and attentive and very fast. My one caveat--this is a family business and they close whenever they damn well please regardless of the hours the have posted. This place is has crazy good food at fantastic prices, you know there's going to be a but! But the wait staff all seem to go one speed, slow. It's like crack, we can't stop going back for the food but are disappointed in the service every time. If you have a little time don't miss this place. Another but, check the hours. As others have pointed out, the inside of this place takes you back to days gone by and a treat in itself just to walk in and take a look. For now, this is my initial review and is for the breakfast meal. We got there at around 9 AM, on a Saturday, morning. It was not too crowded and appeared most the customers were locals. The waitress was very friendly. The breakfast menu is a bit limited, but has the basic fair. I went with two eggs, sunny side up, sausage patties, home fries smothered in country gravy, and toast. The eggs, sausage and toast were good. Unfortunately the country gravy was not warm. In fact, I would venture to say it was below room temperature as some of it was cold to the touch, which kinda of ruined the entire plate. However, with that being said I've not given up on this place just yet. Their lunch menu seems much more extensive. More importantly they have a huge selection of handmade chocolates and from the pictures posted by my fellow Yelper's, the ice-cream desserts look wonderful. I continue to have this placed booked marked for a summer afternoon run. We'll be coming back and will update the review then. See you this summer. read more
